Morning folks - need to catch up on the weekend thread, but I know super conga-rats are deserved for Doc on a great tri debut. No exercise for me since last thurs - bah. Thinking about running a local 8K on Wednesday, even though my chiro said no running this week. We shall see....

Winter - Lets see. In the last week, you have went to a company thing with Mr. Winter that you really did not wanna go to, but did, cause you are a supportive Mrs. Then you extend your run so one of the little Winters can join you. Now you are heading to BC so that you can be the only family member at your Bro's wedding. I know that the smilie in you sig shows the halo falling off, but based on your actions, I am not so sure that is accurate. And a belated Happy Canada Day!!
Myron - chalk Saturday up to a bad day. Hopefully Sunday was better
Drinks - Tried McT's Limeade. I thought it was tasty, and would do it again. Was easy to make a pitcher full ahead of time too, which I always like. Most of the crowd tried it, then went on to the usual wine and beer. You could tell it was a summer Sunday gathering, cause the SAHMs averaged almost a bottle of wine per, but the folks who needed to be at work (including me) were a little less aggressive in the drinking. Nice day overall. As mentioned in a prior post, it was a tricentennial celebration for my town - carnival and fireworks on Saturday (which we missed, because DS#1 was in a production of Alice in Wonderland which had a show at the same time), and a 2 hour parade. Of course, being a good dad, all the kiddies were well slathered in sunscreen. Being a dimwit, I did not put anything on myself, so I am a tad on the red side today.

I am not the gourmet that some of the others here are, but our menu was very well recieved - grilled peppers, red onion, and asparagus, sausages, and tequila-lime marinated chicken breasts. Local corn on the cob, grilled and served with basil\oregano butter (herbs picked about 20 mins before dinner).
Maples - nice that you enjoyed the weekend. Regular exersize means more energy and self confidence. realy.
Theia - kickin ass in volleyball tourneys, collecting hardware on a regular basis in races. Exellent work.
Ailaire - The kayak pics are super. If I had more time to spend, I would be getting a kayak. There are a bunch of great rivers and lakes around here. Maybe when the kids are a little older.

QOD - I guess it is July goals - (1)Get my back straightened out (literally - the actual results from the chiro are that my pelvis is 1.5" higher on one side, and because of the my spine curves about 1.5" to the left of center.) (2) Based on the success of goal #1, try and maintain my fitness built up over the last several months, and (3) Enjoy my cruise the end of the month.

Pull back the husks (back, not off), remove corn silk. Recover with the husks, and then soak for a few hours (otherwise, the husks will burn up like paper). Grill on lower heat for 30 mins are so. Easy peasy.

Basil\oregano. No recipe, just pulled the herbs from our garden, washed them, finely chopped, added to a stick of melted butter.

(I actually eat the corn with nothing on it, but the guests enjoyed this).

Kent Falls is gorgeous, but the river is probably pretty dead these days - no real rain around here in far too long. Doing anything interesting there, or just haning out?

And once Mrs. Tim found out you were a Yankee fan, it didn't matter whether she thought you were cute or not - that is a deal breaker for her.

I have been on the phone with Microsoft (call center in India) for 4 hours. Bah.

Gratuitous photo from the Tricentennial Parade yesterday. I like living in a picturesque New Englend town.
