Even though it is night time for me and I am heading to bed in a few, I figured I would start us off this Monday Morning.

I ran last night, so I know today should be a rest day, but I might try to get in a mile when I wake up in the morning. Yep just a mile.

I hope you all have a great Monday.

Good morning, good night, Kini.

Went out for a run today instead of tomorrow cuz the July 4th 5K race will be on Wednesday. 2.75 miles, 32:30, average heart rate of 139. Beautifully cool out there this morning, mid 50s in July, I'll take that.

Run tonight after work - have not checked the plan yet so don't know how far/fast.

Lots of yard work yesterday and still more to do.
Midterm starts today (available online for a week). I thought this online grad class would be easier to get to than an actual classroom type class - not so much! Geez!

Will check in later.

Good runs to all. I'm sure I've missed some well deserved kudos to our 30's racers/runners...sorry about that.

Later!

Morning folks - need to catch up on the weekend thread, but I know super conga-rats are deserved for Doc on a great tri debut. No exercise for me since last thurs - bah. Thinking about running a local 8K on Wednesday, even though my chiro said no running this week. We shall see....

Morning gang...

Rainy here this morning, temps low 70's...why am I not running? Probably because I was so wiped out this morning I bailed. Going to take my running stuff to work and see what the temps are like after work...maybe get in a few miles downtown before heading home. That would be good! Didn't go back and finish up the weekend thread...did Doc post about his tri? I'm waiting for the gratuitous photos...heh.

Did I mention I like this place? I've been wandering around checking out the other threads a little...nice bunch of folks here. And glad we've been able to keep our little 30's group pretty much intact...I emailed KP, Frankie, and LLCoolWhip/Racer/Beachberg with the info, 'cause I didn't see their emails on Bard's list. Got a text from Frankie that he made it back from SanDiego ok, so hopefully he'll wander in here today.

That's all I've got, I guess. If it's not too hot to run, I should be checking back tonight with something to report.

Off in search of breakfast...

Later taters!

Howdy, folks. Well, it may be Monday, but at least it's not a full week...

Yeah, big congrats to Doc. Nice job!

Last week was a good week for me. I ran or biked every day last week, all without any pain. I think I may finally be beyond the nagging injuries that plagued me during June. Hooray for July!

First half of the year is done, and I've logged 685.7 miles. And since I've moved my posting from CR to Kick, maybe it's time to move my log as well. From what I've seen on Tim's link in his sig, that RunningAhead log looks pretty good. Maybe it's worth a shot...

Well, have a great Monday, everyone...

Morning all. I have an interview for some freelance work at 10 AM today, then I'll be heading to the suck temp job for a half day of work. I don't believe this interview will be fruitful as they've already turned down two people. Ugh.

Will go to the gym sometime tonight. Might run tomorrow depending on if this pain in my right side calf/bone goes away. It doesn't hurt when I run, but still, don't want to take any chances.

Hey everyone.

Congrats to DrChris on his amazing Tri win. I am no longer going to believe any "Oh, I'm not sure how this will go" kinds of words out of his mouth, though.

I have another call in to the ortho, seeing as I didn't hear back from him on Friday. I am getting so, so bummed about not running, particularly with all this Philly talk. Spin and elliptical are great, but not the same, KWIM?

I am determined to use all the smilies at least once.

Morning, all--

Well, this morning was my most west run yet. I know I'm a little obsessed w/ my underwear, but this morning took the cake. Apparently, Marathon Girl and I are not going to be friends. Something about not agreeing with the shape of my "apron". I felt like I was going to lose my skirt the entire run. I also know that me and my Enell sports bra are BFF b/c it's in the wash, and I felt every step in my back. Yuck, yuck, and more yuck. Plus, I didn't fuel well last night, so it was just The Suck this morning. Still, I finished w7d1 w/ 1.96 miles in 25 minutes which was still a little faster than last Wed. (but not last Fri.)

Today's lessons:
1. Undergarments are a big deal.
2. Not all skirts are created equal.
3. Every run can teach us something.
4. Bad run does not equal bad attitude.

Ok, still getting used to the new thread. I keep hitting the wrong button and losing my posts. Oh, well. I will adjust.

I had a nice long rant about not loving Marathon Girl due to "apron" issues, and absolutely loving my Enell sports bra, but it's probably better that it got erased. Let's just say that I had a terribly west run this morning, but I successfully completed w7d1, so I'm happy and while my pace was all over the map, it averaged out to be relatively decent.

I hope everyone has great runs/bikes, etc. today. I am late taking my bike to the shop for a tuneup. It really needs it.

Good day, all!

Gooooood morning class. Last night I felt a "phantom" twinge in my knee and so I almost waked this morning and started c25k week 4 tomorrow. But I decided to give it a try and start week 4 today. Good news. There was no pain at all. I think it was just in my mind.

My only problem I am having with morning jogs is the dew. I have these nice new shoes and my feet are soaking wet from jogging in the dew by the time I get home. There are grass blades all over my shoes. The only alternative is to jog on the pavement/track. What do you think?

morning everyone

I got in 7 this morning with 7 100 m strides. The run was bad. B - A - D. Legs were crampy, stomach was bothering me, blah blah blah. Boo. On top of that, I got up late, didn't have time to eat, and now I am having yogurt at my desk. 10 on tap for tomorrow. Hopefully it'll go better.

July Goals:
1. Get my weight down for training
2. lift 2x a week minimum
3. Crosstrain 1x per week

Winter - Lets see. In the last week, you have went to a company thing with Mr. Winter that you really did not wanna go to, but did, cause you are a supportive Mrs. Then you extend your run so one of the little Winters can join you. Now you are heading to BC so that you can be the only family member at your Bro's wedding. I know that the smilie in you sig shows the halo falling off, but based on your actions, I am not so sure that is accurate. And a belated Happy Canada Day!!
Myron - chalk Saturday up to a bad day. Hopefully Sunday was better
Drinks - Tried McT's Limeade. I thought it was tasty, and would do it again. Was easy to make a pitcher full ahead of time too, which I always like. Most of the crowd tried it, then went on to the usual wine and beer. You could tell it was a summer Sunday gathering, cause the SAHMs averaged almost a bottle of wine per, but the folks who needed to be at work (including me) were a little less aggressive in the drinking. Nice day overall. As mentioned in a prior post, it was a tricentennial celebration for my town - carnival and fireworks on Saturday (which we missed, because DS#1 was in a production of Alice in Wonderland which had a show at the same time), and a 2 hour parade. Of course, being a good dad, all the kiddies were well slathered in sunscreen. Being a dimwit, I did not put anything on myself, so I am a tad on the red side today.

I am not the gourmet that some of the others here are, but our menu was very well recieved - grilled peppers, red onion, and asparagus, sausages, and tequila-lime marinated chicken breasts. Local corn on the cob, grilled and served with basil\oregano butter (herbs picked about 20 mins before dinner).
Maples - nice that you enjoyed the weekend. Regular exersize means more energy and self confidence. realy.
Theia - kickin ass in volleyball tourneys, collecting hardware on a regular basis in races. Exellent work.
Ailaire - The kayak pics are super. If I had more time to spend, I would be getting a kayak. There are a bunch of great rivers and lakes around here. Maybe when the kids are a little older.

QOD - I guess it is July goals - (1)Get my back straightened out (literally - the actual results from the chiro are that my pelvis is 1.5" higher on one side, and because of the my spine curves about 1.5" to the left of center.) (2) Based on the success of goal #1, try and maintain my fitness built up over the last several months, and (3) Enjoy my cruise the end of the month.

Heya 30s

So, I'm getting used to the site. I think I start having problems reading when there's lots of quotes and short responses...*sigh* I'm so freakin' old. I'll stop moaning now.

My left quad is still KILLING ME...owowowowowowwwwww. I took some aleve this morning, but I didn't even go for my walk. I'm leaving work a little early to meet a couple friends at the MFA for the Hopper exhibit...I'm hoping by this afternoon, it'll feel better and I'll be able to walk down from work. It's such a gorgeous day I'd hate to have to take the T.

Anyone got any suggestions? It's from hiking on Sat.

I plan to run tomw. And maybe Wed if I'm feeling up to it. I want to get in some swimming too, but I'm not sure I'll get to the pool until Fri. But we're off to the Cape for a week on Sat, so I'll get in plenty of water time then. Actually...Doc, how was the wetsuit? Since I have the same one...I wonder how you liked it? I'll be bringing mine next week.

Good Monday Morning to you all!!

If you'll indulge me in a moment of self-agrandizment (cuz it should be a word and it should be spelled like that): I, in my infinite wisdom and glory, took today off. (Ok, it's my 13th anniversary today and DH also has today off - once he's done working this am) Which makes this week's work week look like this: off, work, off, work, off - company party at boss's house on a lake. It's gonna be a good week! [/end all about me part]

It's a quite cool, cloudy morning in the Northland. I'm thinking about putting on gloves for my run this morning, since I'm already losing feeling in my fingers just sitting in my livingroom . DH is going to run with me and then he's in the workshop working on the kayak and I get to just do girly-girl stuff - yay!!

Trevor I'd come and cook for ya, you bet. But you should know I'm pretty demanding in terms of adoration and flattery. . .

Nettie They've already turned down 2 people because those people weren't you!

Brandy My best friend lives by Lake Harriet, that's where she takes me when we go for runs when I'm visiting! It's like 6 degrees of Lake Harriet! Now I can say I know you - since I know where you run.

Prae Congrats on w7d1!! Even with underwear issues!

Diane I truly hope the miserable doc gets back to you!!!!

LitchTim Glad to hear the celebration went well - and thanks for being part of my test kitchen! Gourmet doesn't have to be fancy, I was drooling a little at your sweet corn on the grill. . .)

Well, I think I'll mosey on over to the fridge and pull out some leftovers. . .since Lord knows I've got some of those. . .

Have a lovely Monday morning!!!

HI ya'll.

Got up for 7M. The drought busting rain here in AL. has brought the bugs back. Swarms of gnat/fruit fly fargers out this mornin', I had 10s of them stuck to me by the end. yuck. Bagged my LR on Saturday, went yard saleing instead, then it was rainy.

I guess I need to find the weekend thread, to see how racers and all did.

Grilled corn on the cob - YUM!! I just made this for the first time this weekend. I have a ton of corn right now and need to make it soon. I hate freezing stuff as then I never really use it again.

McTortle - Lake Harriet is a great running location..just make sure you keep right
