Y'all are funny with your hash brownies! Sooo many reasons why that would never happen!
1. I'm a teacher and would be out of a career!
b. Never even seen marijuana, much less cooked with it!
i) what did you all think the diced and what not meant?!

I'll just stick to the legal brownies, thank you very much!

Hey all,

I got through my 12 miler on Saturday, but it was not east. It was about 20 degrees hotter than any run I've done this year so far & like I whined about last week, I didn't run as much as I should have while on vacation. How I ended up with a 9:00 mpm pace on the darn thing is beyond me. Maybe that's why it felt so hard?

7 this morning with the pooch. Weird pacing again, 8:30 felt easy enough, but my legs were kind of still in complaint mode from Saturday.

Ah well, I'm at work trying to figure out what I do again.

Maples, the solution to your grass problem is to have 2 pairs of shoes.

Is QOD July goals? If so, then my goal is to not fall off my schedule!

Ooh, I've been meaning to mention this...

I got a flier in the mail this weekend reminding me of an upcoming 5k. I did this one last year. It's at the Teterboro (NJ) airport on Sat July 21. Anyone in the NJ/NY area interested in joining me there?

The race is run on the runway of a working commuter airport. Thus it is obviously the flattest race you'll ever run. (Planes don't really like hills). The only problem is that tarmacs tend to get... umm... a little hot in the summer sun. I don't have any proof of this, but last year someone told me that the temp was 120 deg...

But hey, there's a pace plane. That's pretty cool, eh? I haven't done a 5k yet this year, so I'm looking forward to it...

Link

Afternoon all –

6 miles for me this afternoon and 8 more tonight. My mileage is peaking for the next two weeks prior to starting marathon training for Philly.

Jenn- good to see you on Team Badass. My first time there and it was quite beautiful. P.S. Don’t even think about running that race. And I keep forgetting to mention – just DW has excellent taste - evidenced more by you than me, but excellent taste nonetheless.

Bob – it has been taking me about 5 weeks to fully recover from my marathons – it sounds like you are right on schedule.

Diane – you’ll be back running soon enough. The sports bra and skirt things I can’t really help you with.

Maples – I’d just run on the asphalt or maybe try to find a dirt running trail. Hey guys!

First of all Big Congrats to our superstar DocChris!

Great pictures Ailarie!

HAPPY ANNIVERSARY MCTORTLE!

Hope your quad feels better soon, Maureen.

Trevor-the site Voo posted with that water bottle strap-on only had it for like $9. I'm going to get it just to try for that price. If it doesn't work out then I'll just use it for non-running activities.

Running-I did 7.62 on Sunday. I wanted a longer run but haven't run with my friend in a long time and she wanted to do the trail so her son could come with his bike. I had to stop every two miles or so because my foot was completely numb. The "ball" like feeling under my feet started on on the ball of my foot but at one point was on the left side of the foot. After I felt that sensation it would start to go numb. Definately something with nerves, even if its not Morton's Neuroma. I called the Orthopedic Dr. DH went to for his foot. This guy specializes in foot and ankle injuries and works directly with a podiatrist. The first appt I could get was on 7/18. I'll take it but I wish it would be sooner. I think I'm going to have a hard time increasing my milage for the Aug 5th Half. I'm also going to have to stop wearing my heals until I get this fixed . I have gotten so many cute wedges for this summer!

Rest day today.
What's the Team A and Team B stuff?

My goals for this month are to keep up with the workouts that I am doing while not running, heal from this inury,a nd lose the 5 pounds standing between me and the shorts I bought last year.

Thanks, Trev, for the encouragement.

I wasn't going to mention those. I can't wait to try 'em. Is it Christmastime yet?

Good to see you Space.

I am the poster also known as Dr. FAL

Seriously! The Hash pagan/naturist weekend starts this Friday. Holy cr@p. Should be fun. Nettie wrote about Runner mating rituals in the post-race tent. I think I could write at least a short story on Hasher mating rituals.

It is about time to review what 2007 goals are still achievable and what needs to be put off.

Mandaroo - Sorry you have to leave Hank. Always tough to leave the beloved pooch.

Flem - You're right. No one deserves to be sterotyped.

Kent Falls is gorgeous, but the river is probably pretty dead these days - no real rain around here in far too long. Doing anything interesting there, or just haning out?

And once Mrs. Tim found out you were a Yankee fan, it didn't matter whether she thought you were cute or not - that is a deal breaker for her.

I have no idea what you've been teaching your daughter, but I hope she's ok I only tried it to get my father-in-law off my back. I know it's a deck boat, but I don't know any other details. My husband was driving. My father-in-law was complaining about his driving, so that might be a factor. Yeah, I think that was it, I'll blame him! My friend who does ski was there, and she was giving me some pointers, which included getting back in the boat after the first attempt. Mainly because no one told me to let go if I start to fall, so I was under the water dragging my sorry self along for what seemed like an eternity. I am very grateful there were no cameras around. I will probably try again on a quieter day, I think it was too choppy for a newbie.

Sounds like the strap on search has begun for a few of us. with any luck I am going in search of one tomorrow night. I am on vacation next week in the middle of nowhere in central MN, any run I do I will have to have water with me or risk a repeat of my near death experience in the heat from last year at this same vacation spot.

that brownie recipe is going to be tried out for sure up on vacation!!

oh and Baggs that mileage is massive...you are the freakin man.

Ok. I know it isn't Friday - but come on....you can't say something like that and not expect some kind of reaction!!

Korbels - The way running has been going lately - you might not even have any competition from me

Hi, all...
Were Doc and Pacer the only ones racing this weekend?? Congrates to both!!

I have nothing to report on running, I am just cross-training until July 10th, which is my ortho appt. I want to get back out there! I am having the worst thoughts go through my mind as to what is wrong, especially after talking to my Dr. friend from high school.

Diane- Have you heard anything yet?

Myron- Sorry to read about your bad run on Sat.

QOD July goals- These are on the fence right now, but I must get back into some strength work and on a regular workout schedule again. I need to lose weight, so I will mark it as 2-3 lbs goal. I think I may join spark people.

Beth, Jennifer, Jess The registration for the TC 10 miler starts on July 6th, and my appt isn't until July 10, not sure how that will work, because I don't want to waste $50.

Sage- Good to see you!

Theia- Sounds like an excellent recipe, I might try it tonight to take to the lake, this goes along well with my 2-3 lb weight goal!

GoVan- Did you ever hear anything about the job??

The class reunion was a ton of fun, but in true SEP '92 fashion there had to be some fight drama near the end of the night.

QOD2 - What's on tap for your 4th?? We are going up to the White Fish chain of lakes near Brainerd, MN, Tues until Sat, then driving home. We will be parking our camper at DH's relatives housing. Then hopefully in line for a few days of swimming/boating/fishing.

Gosh, there was more I wanted to respond to! Later!

BTW - KP sent email that they arrived in Taiwan and they are having a great time. He said to say hello!

I have been on the phone with Microsoft (call center in India) for 4 hours. Bah.

Gratuitous photo from the Tricentennial Parade yesterday. I like living in a picturesque New Englend town.
