Dude,

We can so work something out. Mrs oache works for Kraft.

your pal,

oache

QOD - One christmas, I went with my brother to my dad's grave site. I never got along with my dad. I know my brother really appreciated me doing it for him.

excellent BNL reference moon.

QOD - million dollars huh? let's see: being debt free would only eat up a small portion (by small I mean about one year's salary - someone has some student loan debt from that PhD she likes to flaunt ), I would immediately stop working at my current job, travel a bit, college funds for the niece/nephews (nice idea Mary), largish donation to the greatest scholarship in the world, plus a donation to the alma maters, buy a house...maybe all of those, maybe only some. Debt free and donations definite.

The love of money is the root of all evil. Little difference there

If I had a million dollars: 10% tithe, buy house, pay off sisters house (she's incredible person who richly gives gifts so I would pay her back in a big lump sum), give enough to my retired parents to make sure money was never an issue, buy a new car (mine is 10 years old). Then tour the UK for a few weeks.

We will see what's left then decide what to do. I have very little debt so thankfully I wouldn't lose a big chunk that way.

I reckon this is what I'd do, too, but I don't really have any nonmortgage debt. I think I have about $400 of that, which will be paid by mid-January. I'd probably do some decent remodeling of the chateau, get a lift kit and big ass tires for Son of Trigger and then invest the remaining $990,000.

QOD3: I need to think about that one.

Sounds like you've got that nasty cold floating around, Beaker. Take care!

Tim, did you take today off?
If you were ever going to be a SAHD you've got it down. I have happy hour every night.

Be careful Tonya!

Mine too!

Yeah but you get golf ball sized hail.

Creative gifts: Is it me, or does gift giving get harder and harder every year? Last year I made a photo book of all the past year's photos. It was a big hit.

Theia, that's a nice gift.

Voo is domesticating this year

A million dollars? I'd go on a nice warm vacation, pay off all our debt and immediate family's debt and then invest the rest.

QOD4: Not sure. Michelle, that was a good deed indeed!

Theia - so give up the gory details about being in a Hooters video! (thanks Trev)

btw - that's The Hooters as in the band. Not Hooters as in the restaurant chain.

sorry, I should have clarified!

You just gave me a great idea!!!! My SIL's camera died at my nephew's kindergarten graduation!!! But I got tons of shots, just haven't given them to her yet!! Might be a really cute keepsake!!!! Yipee, thanks for the idea!

Hey, cool, thanks Beth. Good thing I know how to read pre-existing instructions...guess that goes with the XY chromosome.

I made mine with a Greek twist - basmati rice, eggplant, ground lamb, fresh grated parm cheese, more peppers and spices to flavor. Fresh tomato sauce over the top when cooking. Yum.
(just make sure you eat the pepper and not just the stuffing)

So, Paige was baby Jesus yesterday at the Phillips Andover Academy (where DW works) Christmas pageant yesterday. Pretty cute and she only cried part of the time. I'll try to post a pic or 2 when I get home. So if she starts off as baby Jesus...where does she go from here?

No exciting Xmas gift ideas rolling around in my head just yet.

I lost track of all the QODs except the first one.
If i get the paper work signed on a winter defense before christmas, I'm making a copy of the paperwork, wrapping it up and giving it to my dad.
That should just about pay him back for the christmas he made me burst into tears (um, not an easy thing to do to this kid) by giving me some blown up copies of my Grandad Price (they were 3 tiny ones...we don't have many b/c of family drama).

Hooters Video

My brother and I were rabid Hooters fans back in the day. I've seen them in concert 34 times, and my brother has even more shows under his belt! When "And We Danced" went big, they sent out postcards to their regular fans to show up for a casting call. Unfortunately, we weren't as aggressive as we should have been and kinda waited around 'til the end without making ourselves more noticeable. Not sure what other parts might have been available to us if we'd been more aggressive, but I'm in the front row dancing in a couple of the scenes (recognizable only to me, sadly) and my brother is one of the kids who gets locked in the trunk. It was an amazingly long, hot, fun, memorable day. July 27, 1985.

We're also in the front row of their live concert video from... 1986? I had one of those asymmetrical haircuts, which didn't go AT. ALL. with my preppy attire. I was a bit confused.
