Don't worry guys, I'm going on the date already!

It sort of took me by surprise because it was out of what I had considered. I can be stubborn about things at times (big surprise, huh??)

I didn't mean to become the center of the afternoon discussion.

Thanks, though!
Beth, you have to know that anytime any of us single gals or guys mentions a date, or almost-date, or potential flirtation... that everyone else is gonna hop in and say something. In the case of both the marrieds and the singles, we want to live vicariously through you.

In my case, I chimed in because I actually went through this whole mental adjustment about a year or 2 ago. I have to remind myself sometimes that 40 isn't that much older than me these days.

I think it depends... In general, I think 42 and 33 is a decent age gap. But I suppose there are some 42 year olds out there that might not click well with a 33 year old.

If you have fun with the 42 year old, and you both enjoy each others company, and stuff, I think you should go for it. Life is too short to let other people or society's norms dictate who you should and shouldn't hang out with.

I think that's about the same age difference as my parents have, and they've been together for like 40 some years now.

After being married for almost 10 years, one thing I think I've learned is that even the healthiest relationship probably suffers from some degree of dysfunction. Maybe I'm wrong...

That's right, age is NOT important. Now. Let's talk older wimmins and younger men without resorting to any kind of word starting with a "c" and ending with an "ouger".

Right, Duckie?

In my VAST dating experience (ah hem, ah hem) age is really so arbitrary anyway. I know 40 year olds that act like they are 18 and vice-a versa.

Clarify: I have not dated any 18 year olds. That is, since I've been one myself, anyway.

Have a grand time Beth and remember...you deserve the best so don't settle for less than it!

hey ya peeps...I HATE posting so late. I miss out on all the fun.

Work is still good. Went to my first real meeting today. Not exactly sure why I was there, but I wasn't completely lost and I had some good questions. It was good.

We got some foul weather as well...everyone be careful, ok?

Gift QOD: with the exception of some inspired secret santa gifts, I got nothing. I'm feeling a little down this Christmas and I just can't get into the spirit. Cancelling our holiday party hasn't helped. I can't think of a thing to get DH and the only gift I've bought is something for my sis. I actually have an idea for something else for her, but it's a hit or miss thing. She doesn't have enough kitchen chairs and I'm hoping to find some trash or cheap Craigslist old wooden ones, not because I'm cheap but because she's got this shabby chic thing going and they'd look cute.

$ QOD: Same answer as always. Beach house in Maine. Might seem selfish, but my mom would love it, I'd want my whole family and all my friends to come anytime. You guys too. It would be a party house. It's my dream...to live by the ocean. That's why where I work is so wonderful....I can see the Boston Light from my desk. FROM MY DESK!

What were the other QODs?
