My answer - I have no interesting in training and racing a marathon... BUT, I would do it for the Marine Corp Marathon. I have heard such wonderful things about it, I would actually consider to a mary for THAT one.

The MCM was BY FAR the best marathon I've run. It was awesome, in the true sense of the word. Philly was my best time (and a fantastic experience for very different reasons!) but MCM was one of those moments in my life I'll never forget.

QOD: With all the swimming and biking I've done lately, I've seriously been considering a Half IM. Problem is, I suck at swimming in races.

QOD: Well, I suppose Boston is the easy answer.

I need to bang out some random states as well (want to follow in boB's footsteps and get in my 50 states as well), so I'd be totally in for Oz as well. And with halfs in OH and PA (and of course CA) I might wanna' think about trying for something like what Ann's going for as a side project. Hmmm...

Heh, I hadn't thought about trying the 25-in-25 thing in addition to the 50-in-50. Let's see, I've done 3 HMs in Connecticut, New Jersey and Connecticut. Umm, I think I have a ways to go with this one. Than again, I'm closer to completing it than I am to the 50...

Duck - Thanks! That's a good start, but it's missing a bunch of them. I guess it doesn't really matter at this point, since I'm not signing up. At least not yet.

Did I ever post my stuff this morning? I think I got distracted.... something shiny. Butt tape, core stuff and a whopping 4 miles this morning. It was SO gorgeous out. Cool and sunny and just delicious. About a mile from home a lady in a car slowed down to ask if I'm training for a fall marathon, because she sees me out all the time, but that I probably don't recognize her because she is usually on a bike. Once she pointed that out I knew who she was. People look different when they're not all sweaty.

Anyway, I told her no, and she said "Oh, so you just like to run distance then?"

Which made me laugh, because other than today I've not run more than 3 miles since the beginning of September. I do miss distance though, especially days like today.

QOD: Not sure. I'd really like to run all 5 of the marathon majors. Also, even though it looks harder than hades, I think the Great Wall of China Marathon would be pretty darn cool

BTW, Twin Cities photos are up now.

So-so batch for me - the best one is definitely the one taken with BigG post-race

Those are some great pics, Moon! You always look so happy during races. I don't know how you do it. I agree, the one with the finishers' medals is the best.

Mine are available too, although I don't look nearly as happy.

This evening, I did an easy 3.2 miles on the TM at the gym after some easy lifting. Legs felt pretty good...

Went for a run on campus after work, right about 5K distance. Non-stop.

By the way, something had been bugging me about the Oz Marathon in Olathe Kansas. Namely, I didn't know how to pronounce "Olathe". I don't think I've ever heard anyone say the name before. I assumed it was two syllables and either rhymed with "bath" or "bathe", with the stress on the first syllable.

So I looked it up on wikipedia, and it's neither. It's three syllables, with the stress on the middle one: "oh-LAY-the". Am I the only one who thinks about these things?

This reminds me of one of my cross-country road trips when me and a buddy drove thru South Dakota. All my life, I always assumed the capitol of South Dakota (Pierre) was pronounced like the French guy's name. "PEE-air". But we were driving along flipping stations on the radio and we kept hearing about "Peer". We wondered what the hell "peer" was for a while before we figured it out. Were we the only ones who didn't know the right way to pronounce it?

Moon - that pic of you and Goon is AWESOME!

Bob- funny re Olathe - I looked it up too.

I know Oh-lay-the - then again I went to school in nearby KC, MO

7 something miles tonight on the redonkulous TM including 3 x 10 mins @tempo pace. I haven't run on that beastly contraption since January and don't plan to return to it anytime soon. The suck.
