Morning!

I have actual fitness to report finally....nothing exciting, just a mostly run/some walking mix yesterday for a half-hour, but boy did I sleep like a log last night. Huh....yeah, I have zero cardio left, so this is really starting from rock bottom again, but it felt fantastic.

Ok, I just read yesterday's workout thread and you can COUNT ME IN if we're seriously looking at Oz in April. Booyah! That, my friends, sounds like a bang-on good time! I could definitely be half-mary ready by then. And, I need KS for my 25-in-25 half goal.

And I forgot to post that I *will* make it to yoga tonight, so that also makes me happy.

Ann, what's this "25 in 25" goal? HMs in 25 states? That's pretty cool! I didn't know you were planning anything like that! I assume this means you aren't going back to Little Rock in 2011...

Fort hose who don't read the threads late at night, I posted my Race Report for TCM, complete with 4 zillion BobCam shots.

I ran a little yesterday, and I'll run a little more today.

Nice work, Ann. I'll have to go back and see what "Oz" is. Looking forward to your RR, Bob.

I slept terrible again last night. BUT, I got my sorry butt out of bed this morning for 10 with 4 x 1200 meters; 2 minute recoveries. I only had time for a little over 9 miles, but I'll take it. My intervals were easier than I had expected, despite some decent hills. It is amazing how much easier it is for me to run when it is in the 30s rather than 80s. I am definitely a cool weather runner.

boB, I've been working on 25 Half's in 25 states for as long as I've been running them. I've gotten 11 (I think) states so far, but 13 half's...doubled up TX and IN.

Just my own little obssesion. I even joined a site for that about 5 years ago....Half2Run.

Umm, Ann, I don't know if I knew that. I probably did, but my early-onset Alzheimers must've kicked in and made me forget it.

I just read through the info you're supposed to send them to join. I don't have any idea how many halfs I've run in the last 8 years. I think Pig was my first one, but I couldn't say for sure. It might have been River Run? No idea. I don't keep track.

QOD - What is your dream race OR what race/event would break out new training for...

My answer - I have no interesting in training and racing a marathon... BUT, I would do it for the Marine Corp Marathon. I have heard such wonderful things about it, I would actually consider to a mary for THAT one.

QOD: Hmm, I don't have a dream race. But, I would break out new training for a 50 miler which I will probably end up doing at some point in the next year or so.

Hi all - sore feet suck. Got out for 3.5 yesterday, but my feet really haven't recovered yet from the trail race four weeks back, and I suppose pounding out 26.2 miles on concrete & asphalt didn't help matters. Funny thing is it's really the same area on both feet (the top and side around the little toe area) I suppose I should take a few days off and rest the things

BTW, has anyone tried out those wraps in the foil packets we got in the TCM goodie bags? I broke it out yesterday - its like a cryowrap that you don't need to put into the freezer. It's NOT as cold as an icebag or similar device, but it does do a pretty decent job of cooling off the area you wrap it around. And apparently its reusable too, based on the instructions on their website

I need to bang out some random states as well (want to follow in boB's footsteps and get in my 50 states as well), so I'd be totally in for Oz as well. And with halfs in OH and PA (and of course CA) I might wanna' think about trying for something like what Ann's going for as a side project. Hmmm...

Anyway, good runs, workouts, and/or rest days to you all

QOD - at this point, it could be a whole host of things...an Ironman, Boston, a 100-miler. Training for them is one thing; whether I'd have a realistic shot of getting into and/or finishing those events is a whole 'nother matter.

My running partner voted for hills last night. She talks a big game about doing a track workout with me, but when I told her what this week's specific workout is she quickly picked hills instead. The first and third ones were the worst. I've found that the first hill repeat is always the hardest. Anyone else notice that? Once I got through three of them, I knew I was halfway done. That mental boost was HUGE.

QOD I'll probably never do another marathon, but if I did it would be Athens. Someday (after I master the Olympic distance AND get over this new fear of open water) I'd love to do a Half Ironman. Someday.
