Nice weights workout last night; I'm seeing some decent changes in my upper body and I'm liking it. Tonight will be a chilly run, not sure of the distance ...just going to see how the bod feels and take it from there.

Eh, I feel the same way. I'll do them if Pfitz tells me to but I won't like it.

Brandy and Baggs - I believe there were plans to see some of Buffet's Key West - you know warm days and cold drinks. Bastages!

Good morning!

Got in my 3 on the Tmill last night. I needed it. The house stuff is giving me the gripes!

I don't have anything on the schedule today, but I am thinking that I might need a little more activity over the next few days.

Mornin'

Quick post before I have to head out to an appointment.

ran, more like mostly jogged 4 straight miles last night using the indoor track at the gym. 22 times 4 around makes it look like a whole lot more apparently because one lady said wow, Did you just run ten miles?! I had to laugh. I replied, only in my dreams!

The day before I was doing group training and walked right past something, paused, took two steps back and smiled. Foam roller! I got my Trainer to show me how to use it and tried it out last night. I've looked at ordering one several times and just haven't yet. Yep, ordered one. It hurt somewhat but felt good too, if that makes any sense at all!

Hope everyone has good workouts today!

Help. Me.

It is 23 outside and so I'm certainly running outside today! Instead, I am sitting here typing and drinking coffee instead of doing that (I get to go into work late today).

Would someone please kick my hiney into motion??

Please?

PS--Thanks, Flemmy...I need new shoes but didn't want to use any gift certs I got for christmas on them. Now I can afford not to!

Jenn--RFTC with your times? Not only near the front, but AT the front. At least in MN, ours tends to be bottle-necky and much more fun-runny.

DD2 was up at 4:30 sleep-walking and asked to brush her teeth. So I foregoed (sp?) my last 10 min of sleep and went on out for my 8M tempo. Lower abs were a lil' grouchy, so I wasn't able to hold onto the pace. grrr.

Didn't find anything on the STP site either. Well except a $199 pair of mountainneering boots, not quite in the budget for that.

Ok - how is this for motivation: It is the warmest it is going to be right now until at least next Wednesday. Forecast highs for next few days: 11, 8, 0, 7, 13, 15. THEN 22 degrees next Wednesday. So get out there now and enjoy this balmy weather!!

Morning, friends--

Got out for yoga class last night and slipped-and-slid my way home (on foot). The instructor was doing something weird which I didn't like very much, but it was much more relaxed than the last few weeks. I'm sure tomorrow's session will kill me as usual.

Tonight I'm planning on another 35 minutes on the TM and 30 minutes on the bike. The TMs at the gym allow 30 minutes + 5 cooldown and there was a wait last time, so I wasn't able to stay on longer. If there's no line tonight, I'll try to go longer. I also did the last 2 minutes on Monday .5 mph faster than I normally average and that felt good, so I may try to do that for longer tonight.

Despite eating 1/2 a bag of peanut M&Ms while rewatching PBS's Persuasion last night, I'm down a couple of pounds so the new activity seems to be paying off a little. Hopefully that keeps up. If only my dissertation were going as well. . .

Have fun and be safe on those runs today. Here's my hope for none of this: uke:

Hey all - got in about an 1 1/4 hours at home of what I'm calling the buffet workout, where I just kinda' throw in a little of everything. Boxing, tae-bo and step routines, ab & core work, dumbbell weight exercises, pushups, jumping jacks and squats. This is stuff I don't mind having the music blasting away in the background.

LL - when I think of treadmill class, the visual I get is one of that OK Go music video. Have fun with the repeats!

Good luck Jen at Race For The Cure this weekend!

Prae - congrats on the weight loss there. Hope the dissertation starts coming along a little more easier as well

Anyway, time to get some productivity in...later all!

Won't running the race backwards hurt my time???? Good thing is that I have my "butt massage" today, so the buns will be ready.

Please do not become the first person here to fly off the treadmill this year! We already had a fractured leg yesterday---be careful, but it does sound like a lot of fun. I would love to do a class like that! Just enough fear in doing something like that to keep it interesting. Fear is Fun (to an extent)...

15 miles in the books today and my legs are tired (but no knee pain:banana. I think between the tempo yesterday and then the med. long today they are a little fatigued. I really hope the training effect from these two runs back to back will be big. I was planning on swapping my recovery day tomorrow with Friday's 13, but now I think I might need to take tomorrow slow. Maybe I'll just break up the 13 into a couple of recovery paced runs.

Who knows, I'll probably feel fine tomorrow! Good runs today everyone.

It's not just you. Mile repeats suck ass.

Good luck this weekend, Jen!

Ran 4.65 yesterday morning before work. I kinda like running before work. It invigorates me for the day! (Especially when it's 26* and dark out!)

I have decided to bag the half marathon I was planning to do in March in order to focus on regaining some speed in my legs. My new 2008 race schedule:

I've been killin' the weights lately and I'm noticing it, too. I'm starting to look a bit like my meathead former self, but lighter. I went to put on a long-sleeved tech shirt the other day and had to yank it down over my chest and lats.

I feel ya! I think you're in some of the worst of it, though. Well, the moving part ain't no fun!
