Good morning. I ran an easy 3.5 on the TM last night. My schedule called for 6x100 striders also, so I just mixed in a few bursts of 0.1 mile at 10mph in my run. Most of the run was done slower than a 9:00 pace, but overall it turned out to be an 8:33 average. I'll take it...

Today I'll do about 7-8 miles of hills. My schedule always calls for runs every Monday, Tuesday and Wednesday. But this is the first week I'll actually do all three of those days in over a month. Something always seems to come up that gets in the way of one of those runs...

Well, have a great day, all...

Morning, all.

No running last night. Went to Yoga instead. Did what I thought were some very neat shoulder stretches.... until this morning. OOF! the shoulders are fine, but the pectorals? Yeowza.

Actually, I still think the stretch was cool.. I just won't underestimate opposing muscle groups next time.

Got weight training to fit in during work today, and a deep tissue massage tonight, so it'll be day 2 of no running. I'll crank back up on Thurs.

Good Morning!

15 is the plan for this morning. I'm feeling pretty good, so it should be a nice run.

I did sign up for the "Race for the Cure" on Saturday. I know it'll be a little hectic, but I'm feeling the need to redeem myself after my last 5k. It looks like last year there was around ten females sub 20, so it should a nice race to gauge where I'm at in regards to that goal. I think the weather is going to be crappy, though. Highs in the 80's and windy and rainy, hopefully it won't be too bad out. I don't mind the heat or rain too much for such a short race, but the wind messes with me a little.

I hope everyone is feeling better today! Be careful out there...

Treadmill class tonight.

It's going to be a fun one.

I believe the instructor said something about mile repeats.

morning!

Got up at 4:30 am and headed to the gym, but on the way there, I decided I wanted to run outside this afternoon instead. Duh.
So instead of going home and going back to sleep for 45 minutes, I did a short cardio warm up and about 45 mins of weights/core/stretching. I'll get my 5 miles done after walking with the fitness club kids today.

Bob -- you've been getting some good workouts in. good stuff!
LL - good luck with those repeats
Christie - travel your way over to Cherry Hill this afternoon around 4pm and run with me.

I ran 8 mile with hill repeats yesterday - here's the elevation profile from gmaps.

The weird thing is that it was an out & back route with the hills at the 1/2 way point. According to this, the elevation gains/losses are slightly different profiles - I didn't notice that the road was different on the way back. No major 'quakes or techtonic shifting that I noticed other than my footfalls.
I'm happy to find a new hill to run repeats on at work - only problem is that its 3 miles to get there - but it.is.nasty. The top 100' or so are double diamond steep.
10 sleazy (pace) miles on the schedule for me today.

2 miles running and 3 miles walking....done and done....

DH and I got in a bit of a pissing match last night and I was still ticked when I woke up this a.m. so it got right on the tmill w/o a care in my head that it would be loud and wake him up 1/2 hour earlier than he usually gets up (awful, huh).

Glad to see another early riser here - I was up at 4:30 again too.

Ok - is it just me, or do mile repeats not sound all that fun? I did 1000m repeats this a.m. and that was quite enough for me!

Got 5.5 on the TM this a.m. (intervals - went waaaaaay better than my nightmare interval workout last Saturday). Will do weights at lunch.

Jenruns - can't wait to hear about the 5k results!

Good runs to all today!

10 miles on the TM this morning. No problems during the run, but my left achilles\PF is barking again now.

Decided to run a 15 K race on Sunday. There are a series of races in Western CT called the Boston Buildup. There is a 10 K, 15 K, 20 K, and a 25 K. The 15 K is pretty close to my house.

I've heard of a double chin, but this is ridiculous! I love that line from Fat Bastard - "I've got more chins than a Chinese phonebook!"

JenRuns - Get your buns as close to the start as you can...I've heard those Race For the Cure races are tough if you're wanting to run fast.

LLMileRepeatBerg - Enjoy it tonight...if the pace is really going to be fast, you should show up to your treadmill class with a bike helmet on. That should get some laughs.

I think I'm still a day or two from trying to run again. The hammy/groin/quad thing feels far better today - barely a limp, but I can feel it in there. I should be good to run this weekend, easy pace. I'd rather take an extra day or two now then go for a short run today and have to miss the weekend.

Anyone heard from Baggs and/or Brandy? Are they gallivanting around Orlando on vacation?

Hey all:

Crazy day today. Splitting time between clients today and heading over to NJ this afternoon, hopefully I will make it back in time for my running store run tonight. 10ish easy.

1600 repeats can be ugh. Depends on the pace and the rest of course. They can be a big help for the 5k though. You can spend a lot of time at vo2max.

JensRuns - good luck this weekend.
