Okay, you all have scared me...I'll let go of the idea of that workout.

For whatever reason, it looked hard but not as hard as you say it'll be. I don't need to be blowing up during an interval session. I'll stick with my little Pfitz style intervals.

Which race is that?

Philly Peeps: Anyone else interested in the Adrenaline 5k (Haddonfield) on Saturday the 15th? Solar and I will be there... Theia? Larry? Scratch? Super fast field.

I think not running might be more frustrating now that the cast is off.

I don't recommend it.

I'm sure there is an appropriate smiley out there, but I'll just say..yep....it wasn't pretty.

And thanks to everyone for all of your responses. I will continue to live vicareously through y'all until I can hit the street again...let me rephrase...until I can go out and run again.

Boston Registration is closed!!

It's a good thing I officially signed up about a month ago--and I've gotten my conformation card. I tend to put that kind of stuff off, I had no idea it filled up so fast!

Hi Gang -

Looks like there will be some good mileage totals for February! I should finish with just under 140.

Theia - that is alot of workin out in one day - hope you are eating alot today!

Umm, CoachT, 35 is not cold.

Rested, elevated and iced the quad all last night and today. And popped a bunch of ibuprofren. It felt ALOT better - so I decided to do 7 easy miles today, so I can rest tomorrow and then finish the week with 3 days of running in a row - rather than rest today and do 4 days of running in a row. Hope I won't regret it. It felt ok while I was running and feels ok now. Gonna keep icing it just in case.

Good runs to those that still have them!

I realize that, I just feel for people who qualified recently/or just procrastinated a little and now have to wait until next year. For whatever reason, I didn't think it filled a couple of months out. I think this year it filled pretty quickly, correct?

Usually mid-March is when it closes, if it closes at all. It's probably a little earlier this year due to the Olympic Trials and all the hubbub of that.

CoachT Any word from the BAA on your deferment?

Forgot to mention to Voo - great photos. Are those part of the Ohio rails-to-trail networks that will run (eventually) from my neck of the woods to Erie? The newest spur of that starts 2 miles from my house and is at least 70 miles long (probably more). Some sections are nicer than others, but it sure is great to have a flat, measured every half mile trail like that near my house. If I ever get big into cycling, I may have to ride up to your house someday, throw back a few Yuenglings and a burrito, and then pedal on home.

um, well, unless you know the right people

8 miles in the books and I'm ready for my day off tomorrow. next 2 weekends I have 20+ milers scheduled. I'm thinking it's time for a serious step back after I knock those out. a little R, R & R (recovery, rejuvenation, reenergizing) is sounding good.
and beer.

No, it's not. I believe the Erie Towpath Trail is part of the rails-to-trails network that you're talking about. And that would be a mighty trek! It's about 4.5 hours by car to Cincy from here! I've ridden that trail up to near Cleveland before.

But that trail (Sand Run Park) technically is connected to the Towpath Trail via the Buckeye Trail, which is a hiking trail. And the Towpath Trail is less that a half-mile from Sand Run. The Towpath Trail runs right outside my office building. I mean, I can look out the window and see it five yards away.

Dangit, now I have to train again and try to get back. I was going to try the couch potato/beer drinker's guide to training for a marathon.

MN Folks - Human Race 5/8k on March 16th. Good race. I'll be there. First real race in a long time.

you and me both...speaking of which need to register for a 5k on 3/15
