well that is way sweet of you to ask.

really good, It airs today on the public access channel like 13 diffrent times. It is a cool spot, I talk briefly about why people should support the local food shelf by attending the fundraising event and how we use their donations. Then some musicians did s sample song from what they will play that night. funny thing was we ran late there, ran out the door drove 10 minute across town and literally walked into a radio studio, sat in the chair and did the same exact thing for a local community radio talk show. felt like a star promoting a movie

Damn nice workout, PTom!

We got SO LUCKY and didn't loose power, traffic was a mess, though without the lights working...we did have surges all day, that was it---After 3 major hurricanes in the past 4 years, I get a little jumpy when the lights go out. During each of those storms, we were close to, or at 2 weeks w/out power each time!

Voo, those pictures are beautiful!

Tempo day today here...yikes...speedwork. It actually went very well, it was super duper windy but not as hot so that makes such a difference for me!

2 miles--easy
7 @Tempo (I've never gone over 5, oh boy--I think this workout is for the Pacer/PTom speed runners) I was hoping to keep it around a 7:05ish pace because of the length/wind. I came pretty close.
5 miles--easy
14 miles total--over 300 for February!!!

It was pretty damn windy, so the effort was certainly felt, but it was okay. Overall I'm happy with how this workout went. I'm pretty sure I could nail a shorter tempo (4 or 5 miles) run at a pretty good clip next time around. My comfort level is a lot better with these workouts now, I'm not nearly as worried about them as I was a month or so ago.

requesting permission for a fly by.
hey all.
10 miles on Monday and I got a 6.4 mile tempo run in yesterday - after warming up, it was mostly downhill for 2+ miles @ 7:10 mpm, turned around and did 7:35's back. I felt like poop doing it - like I had shoelaces hanging down my throat - so bad it made me gag after the turnaround. I like PB & J only once chewed.

JenGumpRuns...300 miles? WTF? You must not work. Or sleep. Or go anywhere. Save some for the trip from Hopkinton to Boston!
LL - that's some serious barf o'rama speed work. On the TM?
Prae - your schedule kills me...sounds like it's killing you. Hang in there!
Voo - great pics. Friggin love running on trails like that. Once the weather improves, I'll have to take some pix of the rails to trails path I frequented last year.
Tippin' my cap to the rest of you.
Ok...I'm off to do 8 'recovery' miles. Lookin' pretty mild outside (35*, 8 mph wind...shorts?)

My one and only work day today so I can't play long...or, er, at all.

Have fun shoe shopping.

Cus - so glad to hear the cast has been castaway, so to speak. Continued good healing to you

Dang Jen - at that rate, it almost seems like you could run TO Boston before you actually run AT Boston

I'm Addicted To Running, Example #355 - I was walking to work early this morning when I saw a runner headed down the sidewalk the opposite way.

Nuttin' unusual about that, save maybe for the blue collared work shirt he was wearing along with the more usual running gear below the waist (I guess he didn't have a spare tie to wear to wipe the sweat from his forehead.)

Just a side thought - would seem to me that wearing a shirt like on a run be a prime potential cause of some nipple chafage, but what do I know

Nice run, Nettie!!!

Voo - good to see you. That is a BEAUTIFUL trail to run on. I'm not a huge fan of snow, but that is gorgeous.

I had an easy 4 last night. Poor night's sleep and no food beforehand meant that I was running out of gas. Mile 3 was s l o w, but I did fartleks through Mile 4 to perk me up and get through it. That was kinda fun!

5 on tap tonight. Legs feel GOOD, and achilles is . . . there. not interfering with runs, so I just keep doing the rehab stuff, and I'll keep seeing the PT. Hopefully it will continue to improve, but man that is one slow healing sucker.

Jen, congrats on the 300-miler! I'm curious...do you do your runs in a group or do you cover all that mileage alone?

LL, Nettie...nice speedwork! Nettie, I didn't know you ran sub-9 5K's - that's awesome!!

Thanks for posting the pics Voo...that trail looks gorgeous.

Congrats on cast removal, Cus! Now you just have to fight the urge to try and run on it just a little while longer...

I've got a boring 5 tempo and 1800m pool drills for tonight. *yawn*

Great workouts to everyone!

an old article that I just pulled out:
http://outside.away.com/outside/body...odywork_1.html
kind of the anti-Higdon approach, no?

Cus - great to hear. I have never been in a cast and hope it stays that way. A sling is as close as I have been. That's close enough.
