hell yeah! I was listening to NPR yesterday and these two comedians were talking about ways to freshen up the Oscars. One suggestion was to have Prince as the house band. oh.freaking.awesome. I yelled "Yes" really loud in my car.

Mornin' all!!

All these speed workouts! Maybe when I grow up I'll check that stuff out. Not sure what I'm doing today. Maybe 3-4 or maybe 7 miles. More snow yesterday and last night.

Myron was feelin' bad for us who got hammered with snow with regards to our runs, but here are the photos from my run yesterday. These shrunken versions don't begin to do justice to how beautiful it looked:

This was right at the start of the trail:

I had to stop and take this one of the waterfall and creek:

Trail starts to get a little dodgey:

There are a few of these little bridges on the trail:

Uphill for a bit:

Here it is coming back down:

Another little bridge:

Feel better, Brandy and Prae!!! Get lots of sleep, and drink your water. Some awesome runs last night and already this morning. Good job, friends!

My morning classes are typically 6-7 a.m. Since today was only the second class at this particular Y, I cut it a bit short. We did a slightly longer running course (4+ miles instead of 3.5ish), but we did less filler stuff. No walking lunges today, unlike Monday morning when we did about 100!

Today's class:
4+ mile run through a neighborhood course (where Scratch is racing Sunday). Interspersed with the running, we did jumping jacks, burpees, skipping, squats, four pickups (about 200 meters each), carioca step (moving laterally, it's a quick front/back cross with the feet), and cross-country skiing. Once we got inside, we did my world-famous (haha) tricep pushup/plank/side plank killer combo, lots of crunches, and 10 regular pushups to finish it up.

P.S. Enjoy your run, Heather!!!!! Go out there and just enjoy the movement. That first run after a long hiatus is all about remembering why you love to do it.

Lovely photos Voodoo!

I have 4 miles on tap tonight, but I'm keeping it indoors. It's pretty windy and raw here today.

Moe, I trip over my own feet when it comes to dancing. I am so not graceful. I have to imagine that you have more talent than I do.

Myron - nice tempo last night

Jen - Did you get that blackout we saw on the news?

Nettie: was that 3x1 mile? tough workout!

Voodoo: very nice pics

Last night was a good one - 9.5 with 3x2 miles at 5:45, with a 2 minute jog. Let's face it, 2 minutes is not a very good jog. By the time you look at your watch the second time, it's time to get rolling again.

5 really easy early this morning. I was feeling a little creaky.

Good runs today everybody.

Off day for me.

Great pics Voo!

Voo - the snow run looks Awesome! I really feel a little more sorry for those that had more of the ice end of the snow spectrum... we don't need any 30's with broken bones

Your trail looks like so much fun to run on!

Myron how did the TM maintenance go?

Getting in 4 tonight with my running buddy then we're meeting the guys for dinner and beer afterwards. Of course, the husband of my running buddy is one of my writing buddies and he's trying to figure out why I'm running with his wife instead of writing with him. . .I'm sensing another project coming up.

Am I the only one who never really learned how to say no to people?!?!

Would you believe I haven't done it yet

I read the manual, I have a few more hours yet before it needs it... but I have a feeling I'll hit it before the weekend, so after this weekend, I should be able to tell you.

It looks very straight forward in the manual though.
