morning. I did 10 last night at the dome in 1:33. I ran with some friends the first 4-5 miles. We did a warm up and then intervals for 1,2,3,2,1 minute intervals with 1 minute rests. Then once they stopped, I picked up the pace and did 1,2,3,4,5,4,3,2,1 and then did a fast lap to end it. It was hard but felt good.

This morning I did the core class (ouch) and a 30 minute progression run (3.3 miles). 6 after work and my session with the personal trainer.

Mornin' all!!

Hey, Space!

Will probably get out for 4 or 5 miles today. Got some snow last night, but it shouldn't be too bad. It's been a while, but it looks like I'm gonna be doin' the run, wreck myself, then ice and ibuprofen in the evening. Yesterday evening I was watching a hockey game with the ice on my knee and then transferring it to my heel and it felt like deja vu. Last time I've gone through this ritual was a couple years ago.

QOD: I like to run at all times of the day for different reasons. Though I rarely do, I love morning runs because then I have the entire day ahead of me and I don't have to worry about getting my run in. Kinda of the same thing with lunchtime runs, and it also breaks up the day nicely. And running in the evening after work is a nice way to decompress. I get home, tired, yet still a bit amped and after a nice shower I'm ready to eat and put the feet up and chill.

Morning all. Meeting up with some friends for dinner this evening and so I'll plan to get a lunchtime run in @the gym.

Kinda? Oh and yeah, I thought I saw a P-Tom look alike on the subway this morning but then I noticed the dude was wearing a pinky ring, oh and he had a cell phone.

Becca - bust outta the funk, hit a circuit of weights at the gym or a class - it'll help!

Hi Staci!!

QOD: I'm an evening running gal. I like an early morning run on the weekend but during the week, those p.m. runs help me clear my head and put a nice cap on the day.

QOD I am an late afternoon/evening runner. Evening because that is what fits into my schedule the best. I run in late afternoons on the weekends. I can barely walk without tripping over my own feet in the morning let alone run.

Morning all,

My schedule calls for 5 X 400 at 5K pace today. Later, after a nap. The three miles last night were not so fun but I expected that considering I haven't really slept much in the last six days.

QOD Night. Though really it just depends on my schedule.

And PTom- We'll need an update on the frig to find out if you were right. Nice run.

Mornin' Gang.

PTom - how many whales in a pod?

One of these nights I am not going to wake up several times coughing hard enough to chase B to the downstairs bedroom. It is going to happen.

No run tonight. Am still really easily wiped out, but I will be walking around court in 4" heels so I figure that counts for something.

morning peeps!

The phone story is funny but not funny if you know what I mean Tom

Hiya Space

put in my 6 last night, decided since it was too dark to read teh gramin without the pressing the button to get yej back light I would just run and wait for it to light up when it showed me my mile splits. first mile 10:14. man I knew the legs were tired, but thought I was faster than that, but it is a warmup mile so okay. picked it up a bit and hit 9:47...argh...I want to be in the 9:20-9:30 range. now I make the decision to make this a workout where I run each mile faster than the last.
Mile 3-9:19,
Mile 4-9:27 (damn hill),
Mile 5-9:09 (now we are talkin),
mile 6-8:36 (feeling awesome)

overall average like 9:26...so I went home happy.

need to squeeze in 4 easy miles today somehow.

QOD I have given up on a preference, I just wanna run when scheduled somehow someway!

safe running everyone!

Morning, friends--

Got up early this morning and got 5 miles in on the TM. Man, did I need that. The last 1.5 weren't particularly fun, but I had a real sense of accomplishment. I also ran them faster than my 8k in November, but only by about 30 seconds or so. Also, last night I finished the conclusion of my dissertation. Only one really crappy chapter left to write in 2 days, and I'm done. I'm definitely going to try to run tomorrow and Friday, too b/c I feel sooooooo much better.

Clare, I love your avatar with Lena holding your running shoe. Absolutely priceless!

Good running out there people!

I'm with RFTL about the time of day and the reason. Also, if I run first thing in the morning, I don't need to eat anything becasue I'm running on whatever I had for dinner, so the likelihood of running-induced tummy traunma goes down.

That said, until it starts getting lighter at 5am, I'm stuck running after work during the week. To that end, I ran 7 miles in the rain last night. And loved it.

I have 3 on tap for tonight. It will have cleared by then, luckily. I like that I am levaing the 'mill behind as much as possible.

Sounds familiar, we have lady bugs in the house right now so DD has a huge interest in them. We were on the net Monday night reading every fact ever written about lady bugs. Did you know they little yellow dots they leave aren't urine but blood and it smells bad to warn predators they don't taste good (and it stains walls). They also like raisins.

QOD: I like to run anytime it fits into my crazy schedule, which is pretty difficult to do these days!

I plan on a couple miles when my Aunt gets back from the doctors and can watch DD. Hopefully lunch time.

QOD: I like morning and evening - not normally on the same day

summer I love the morning, the sense of getting something done before the work day...blah blah blah. evening running is great stress relief!

Space: Welcome back! In retrospect, HVAC, electrical and small engines would have been much more practical than say, Latin. My bad.

Jen: 45 minutes tempo is tops for 5k training. That's far enough!

Qod: I prefer the evening. I do run sometimes in the a.m. because DW has occasionally expressed a desire to "see me" or "talk". Like, whatever.

Heather: Nice! I'm sure we will get to ladybugs. Stumper of the night was "Daddy, where do killer whales go when they die?" Uhhhh.... ummmm.... all those years of undergrad and grad philosophy left me deeply unprepared to answer that. I went with heaven. Then of course she wanted to know where the seals went. Again, I went with heaven but proposed that they would likely get their own pond, so as to avoid the orcas.

Prae: Nice run!

Morning. A couple of workouts. Sorry, don't mean to brag, but I was feeling fast last night. 5x.75 mile at 5k pace with a total of 12 miles. Then had a good weight session this morning. I like working out in the morning. I can't wait for summer so I can do my longer runs in the morning. This morning/tonight will be a couple easy runs.

PT - The most I do tempo-wise is 40 minutes. Maybe I should go further. Hmmm.

QOD - I like running in the morning best, but most of my runs happen after work, which is usually in the mid-afternoon. I like those for different reasons.
Tom, you're on a roll today!
