I didn't run yesterday, maybe I should have, still grumpy about Sunday and felt like I needed a break.

Got up this morning. 5x5s of squats, weighted pull ups, and barbell military presses. I was very happy to hit the full 5x5 on the press, missed it on Monday when I went 5,5,5,4,4. After through those, then I did sets of hang cleans.

Howdy, guys. I ran 30 minutes on the TM last night. No real big deal. I'd like to get out for 8-10 miles tonight, depending on how I feel. I'm gonna keep it really slow, because I think I need a slow run to give myself a break. I've been doing too much fast stuff lately.

And thanks to all you guys who gave me such compliments about my marathon training...

Good runs to all...

Bah. No run this morning. I was up, but I had a weird stomach thing happening so no go. It's ok now, but it's too late to run. And I won't run tonight either since I'm going to my Mom's for dinner. She grew her own mushrooms and is planning to prepare them with a steaks-on-the-grill dinner for me and the kids. I'm hoping this stomach thing doesn't come back and I can enjoy the dinner!

Well, I'll be out for a sleazy run after I drop DD1 off at preschool.

Becca, it's the weather. It's very dark and overcast outside.

Maureen, I think you have a lot on your plate right now and I think you should cut yourself a break from your guilty non-running. Just tell yourself it's okay that you aren't running right now and pick it back up in a couple (or few) weeks when you have more time with it. You don't have to run every week or every day to be a runner. Sometimes you just need a break.

Good Morning Everyone!

Something easy today, I think 6am & 4pm. My legs are feeling just a tiny bit tired this morning so that should be gone by this afternoon. I'm slow getting moving today, totally got sucked into watching CNN last night and stayed up too late for me.

Have good runs today!

Hey all:

In the past 24 hours I have become a self-styled psuedo expert on unlocked GSM phones, orcas (aka killer whales), and Frigidaire side-by-side defrost timers and defrost thermostats.

This is because I am trying to

a) replace my phone (guy from Craigslist stopped responding when I asked him to meet me at the store so I could be sure the phone wasn't stolen. Hmmm...),

b)3.5 y/o DD has become fascinated with killer whales, so I checked out all 3 books the library has and we read them last night (they live in pods, they have 4 flippers, they can weigh as much as 140 people, they eat 500 pounds of food a day) - I tried to skip of the pictures of the roiling pools of blood in the water, and

c) our fridge (but not freezer) conked out and I am way to cheap to call a repair guy. Quote for the night, "Babe, refrigeration is really a simple process." $65 dollars in parts overnighted and we will see if I am right.

If you have any questions on these topics mail me quickly before I forget.

Then 10.5 miles with 30 minutes at 6:00 pace and then 15 minutes down close to 5:50 pace. Call it 7.5 miles at tempo. That was kinda hard.

Good runs today everybody.

so.

i decided to see what my body's equilibrium ended up being when i stayed active, but didn't focus on any one particular kind of exercise (snowboarding, walking the dog, etc, instead of running all the time).

my girls are kick-ass. the rest of me needs to run.

core workout this morning - run later. will stop back in with a report on how it goes.

Spin class last night. I feel like queen of the world when I do those things. Awesome.

I doubt I'll do any running today. We're supposed to get 6 hours of freezing rain. Messy. I suppose I'll do my pilates dvd.

55-60 minutes of aerobics and strength training already done this morning. So far I'm digging this up early and working out thing (started last Monday). We'll see if I can transition the indoor activity to outdoor running once it's light enough in the morning (I've always hard a hard time w/ running before work).

Something on the tmill tonight.

Arg, waiting for the line of storms to blow through. They are moving slower than I thought. I guess I can always just jump on the 'mill if the radar doesn't get moving.

PTom: Nice run, again! How far are you planning on taking your tempo runs?
To address your issues from yesterday: a) My guess is the phone was stolen, good move on checking that out. b) Don't need to know too much about whales, no additional questions. I'm more worried about the sharks that are swimming around in the ocean down here...the lifeguards have this list under "sea pests" on their board---Sea lice/Man-o-Wars/Sharks-wtf?? c) Sounds like something DH would do/say to me. I'm always in the background reminding him that we could save more money if he would just spend that time doing his paying job and calling a repair man, but boys will be boys.

QOD: What time of day do you guys prefer to run? I love getting my run done in the morning. That way I figure no matter how crappy my day is, at least I was able to run.

PTom has an early lead in the "Understatement of the Day" award competition, describing his run.

I'm hoping to do some intervals at lunch today - kind of a raw day outside so something spirited will be good to stay warm.

Morning Gang -

Weights and cardio on my lunch hour.

QOD: I definitely prefer running in the morning. First thing. Usually at 5:00 a.m. during the week, 7:00 a.m. on weekends. Prefer it for a couple of reasons. First, if I don't get it in first thing in the morning and something comes up during the day to prevent it (call from the school nurse with a sick kid, meetings running late, etc.) then I am super crabby. Second, my job and the number of miles I run makes it hard to run during the day since I need to dress up for work and look decent and I sweat too much and then look like hell if I run more than 3 miles. So getting it out of the way before I shower in the a.m. works best.
