Anyone that is - when their partner is + has the Rh factor. And vice versa. Lucky for me my DH is also O-. I haven't had the get the Rhogam shot eith either pregnancies. My doctor strongly advised me to, since I'm -, but he said he wasn't worried about who the father was. I had so many health problems with my first pregnancy I was NOT about to get another shot/test that wasn't absolutely necessary.

I've never given blood but maybe I should. I found out 3 years ago that I'm 0+. I never gave before because 1) I am afraid of needles, and 2) I was always underweight prior to having children.

Cause AB- is the rarest blood type (only 1% of people have it or something) and AB- blood types can only get AB- blood. My doctor said when I am older to have my own blood store.<br><br>
Yeah, I've had to get the rhogam shot. My DH is some postive blood type. Its not a big deal, just makes it so you don't build up antibodies against a positive blood type cause that could cause you to miscarry or have a child w/ major disabilities later on if their blood was positive.

I was under the impression that everybody could take O as long as the RH factor was the same. AB was the universal acceptor of blood. AB can only give to AB I think.
