Oh, wow, choovie....(((big hug for our choovie)))

I feel almost guilty for posting an easy 30 min spin followed by 1 mile on the indoor track (brick!).

Thanks for starting us out, Peter -- daffodils are so sweet.

3.6 with the dog today. As we got snow and it's warmed up a bit...She wasn't so white by the time we got home. DW is gonna hurt one of us.

Oh Choovie. I'm so sorry. Tomorrow will probably be much better, and it's almost the weekend now too.

If it's any consolation at all, I nearly always look so awful after my runs that people anxiously ask me if I'm ok or should they call for an ambulance. I'm not kidding. Even DH, bless his heart, usually does a double-take when he sees me. My face turns absolutely purple and it's so incredibly unattractive! When I've asked various docs about it, they all just shrug and say "your skin is Irish and sensitive". Well, duh.

lynden....you don't look happy in that pic, but look at you now!! Success!!

Tammy....wohoo to your son! That's so cool!

Larry...great pic.We don't seem to get enough snow to snow shoe on. That looks great!

Oh Choovie....I hope it's all better soon.....

I had DD home today so had to wait for DS1 to get home to make it out the door. 20 very strong miles today. The last 4 were, 8:30...8:23...8:16...7:45. Maybe going a little later is the way to go! I seem to have more trouble with my MLR than the long runs.

I feel great now but have to work tonight so it's advil and coffee for me!

Thanks for all the love and hugs today! Boy, did I need them. We get by with a little help from our friends.

I got all purty after my run and had lunch with a dear friend who laughed at the story of my awful run and helped me put things back into perspective. It always seems less bad when someone can help you find the humor in it. A nice cheeseburger and fries helped too (sorry Johnny!).

So what happened to the daily in my absence? Gremlins?

.....ok//......back from the surgeon, Pop gets to keep his leg..........it's claudication (named after
the Emperor Claudius
who apparently had a Gimp Leg)

......doc told him to walk and stop and walk and stop.......I explained the 4/1 Formula to him,
so it wasn't a total waste.....

................40min run earlier..............I really needed it..........

,,,,PS,,,,,,thanks ks//......that was a Nice Thing to Post......

Funny morning today. I didn't look into the mirror all morning (that is part of a stress management system I am currently working on :p). I dropped off DD1, then I went to the pool, into my swimsuit I changed, take a look into the mirror and YIKES!, I am all covered with rashes! I get these viral rashes after I had an infection, and it's on the way out, but I had no idea I was sick! I was just kinda tired, but I assumed it was lack of sleep. Well, a rash is no excuse to skip a workout, so I scurried into the water so I won't be seen by too many people. Except, the lanes were packed! I didn't feel like playing bumper cars in the fast lane, so I scooted over to the deep end, a nice segregated area with no one in it! There I did 45 min pool running with a floatie belt on, that was conveniently at the pool side. Then I decided to play a little, so I went under water and swam as far as my lungs could hold and see how far I get. Not too far for some peoples standards, I guess, but I managed to swim accross the 12.5 m length from bulkhead to wall. Then I swam some laps at the deep end, across the pool, which is 21m, ~600m altogether. Finished the day with 30min on the TM with my top all zipped up so my rash won't show.
A bit self-consciously and totally unplanned, but I got a decent workout done...
PS.: The rash should go away by tomorrow.

Sorry your morning sucked, but it sure did make a good tale
{{Jura's rash}}

I did a nice total body class then went to do some cardio, had to P and when I got back the spin bike I was on was taken, I ran for 2 minutes and that didn't make it so I called it a night.

Glad I missed the server meltdown. I see Millbot has it under control.

Do I dare open Rtravers thread?

......do NOT open that thread hally.....

there's stuff in there
would gag a maggot///

tomwhite, that's very good news about dear Dad. So glad to hear it.
gin, greta 20 miler!
lyndenrunner, wow. Quite a transformation! Congratulations.
Choovie, your run reminded me of my carpy long run last Sunday. I dragged myself into a Dairy Queen to use a restroom and several people gave me strange looks. Figure I must have looked like I was going to die or smelled like I already had. Glad you're feeling better now.
Today I did 5 at the track at 9:54. MrF did a short tempo at 6:4x's but he warms up and cools down with me so he ended up with about 6 miles. I like running at least part of it together.
>>>jura's rash<<<

(((Cheryl))) sorry you had such a bad morning, don't think you could look bad on your worst day. Jessie there is one who enjoy's the mountains atleast equally, maybe more, that would be my dog roy. Tom that's good news.

I have always enjoyed the snow, sometimes it can be inconvienient, but is worth it. It is even better when retired as there is no rush to clear the snow, and consequently no sore back. Just go out shovel a little snow, perhaps chop some wood come back inside to enjoy a cup of coffee in front of the fire, watching the wind whirl thru the snow, blowing large chunks of white which is occasionally dense enough to cloud the view of the trees. The view a reminder of being out in it, feeling the cold sting against my face.

Pie, that really is a trail, if you look really closely at the tree in the middle you will see a blue trail marker.

Choovie, I just read what happened to you... Don't worry, those Allie McBeals wouldn't last for a mile if they tried keeping up with you. And prolly your old friend was wishing he could be out there running rather then being in that stuffy meeting. Besides, it could be worse. At least you don't look like a spotted lizard like I do
(((choovie)))
I already saw Looney's hand this morning, is it worse then that?

Thanks for the warning TW though
