Yes, I have used some 3-D programs (Solidworks, Pro-E and the now defunct IDEAS). The design company would make that decision. Usually the company just starts training people and converting things over slowly. In theory, this process would not effect any current projects. However, we all know that theory does not always see eye to eye with practice. The time it would take to convert an entire drafting floor would depend upon the size of the department and the amount of money the company is willing to spend on training. Usually, it takes a person about 6 months to learn a new CAD program and be quick enough to be 'profitable' if you will. So, if you train 6 people, in 6 months they will be proficient, but at the same time those 6 people will now be expected to train a few people themselves. Unless, of course, you slowly send the rest of the floor through training.

Wow. Did I answer the question?

Hiya RD. How are you? I'm still groggy and my nose is running like a faucet.

And I just have to run tomorrow. I've had 2 days off with this stupid cold, and my body is not used to lots of time off and is starting to get weird from no running.

Is there as much snow in CO as there is here?

I'm in the middle of the most difficult remodel I have ever been on, and one of the other subcontractors found an item in the specs requiring the use of 3D collision CADware in order to prevent problems in the field. This project was supposed to happen 4-5 years ago, but the events in NY caused budgets to be reallocated. From what we were told, they design firm was working on the prints for the past 4 years, but this spec was never followed. Now, they expect this to be implemented, in the middle of construction. I would think this would be something that would have been done long before shovel hit the ground. Am I wrong in this?

Down around Crested Butte they're up to 160 inches for the season so far. We had "thundersnow" here in Denver last night. This stuff was like NOTHING I've ever heard before. I spent time in Texas, and spent days under some wicked storms. The kind that you thought would go up in flame from the lightning strikes happening around the house. But this stuff scared the SHIT out of everyone in the neighborhood! Bright red flash, followed immediately by the loudest explosion I've ever heard in my life. We thought the gas station down the block had blown up! This happened 2-3 more times, and people started calling 911. Truly one of th weirdest storms I've been through.
But I can understand about the need to run. Your body starts getting antsy. The only thing I can do in that case is to run.

If it was in the initial specs, a ton of peeps fkd up if the ground has already been broken. Someone in QA should have noticed that years ago. Just be diplomatic but point out that the design was not done by your company. Your company builds. The prints are what your company will follow, and if you need new ones then they better get their happy asses moving 'cuz you are building, like now.

OMGosh... finished cleaning the fridge, oven, and dd's bed room. I threw out ratty t-shirts that were too small and packed almost everthing in her drawers to give away to GW or SA. All of the jeans and capris we bought her at the beginning of the year are too small for her. My little bro came by w/his dd. He's going through a really tough time right now w/his newly ex GF. It's been really tough on him and today, I was a little more honest than I probably should have been. He mentioned to my mom that I was 'brutal'. What can you do?

Exactly my point, Willa. I stirred things up the past few days, and the project managers for the electrical, plumbing and HVAC are meeting with the GC next week to tackle this lack of foresight on someone else's part. Made me happy and took alot of stress off of me.

Hippo - Sorry you've been feeling so poorly. Hope you get better soon! ((((((Hippo))))))

Nicole - Scary! What a crazy day for you! Glad the accident wasn't what it could have been. (((((Nicole)))))

Batmomm - Those people need to just leave you alone 'cause we say so!

Willa - Love the kitty that ran over the dog!

I am the big sis. It just makes me so mad that her bad decisions and blatant lies (to him, her friends, and her mom) have brought them to this point. They were together for five years and have a little one. She's told him she wants to be left alone and he's having a hard time letting go. Understandable 'cause she keeps calling him to talk for HOURS at a time, like nothing's happened. WTHeck is that?!
