Nice races and runs evryone.

No more running for me at the moment but I am power walking between 7.5 and 10 km daily to stay in shape. Running hurts power walking don't so it's a no brainer.

Nice races everyone!

TB, excellent! That's a stronger PB than the 5K, if I'm not mistaken.

Df, too bad about the chaos. It sounds nightmarish.

Merc, think Ed Whitlock. He's come back from arthritis to break records. His was the knee.

I got to play at Tremblant over the weekend. Running up and down the mountain was a blast, but now I feel like a took a baseball bat to my feet.

.. .. the new routine dictates running during the week means I need to be out the door before 5:30 . .. we do [Gomez & I] an hour .. . all hills/grade 4 dirt roads about 10kms, three or four times a week .. . we've got it down to 50 mins on a good day... but the pitch black darkness is slowing us up now .. . I'm actually still very fond of running at night, Roly can relate . .. No VT50 for me this year . .ho humm, brain's just not there at the moment . .. . all is well, autumn is upon us and the leaves are turning up here...

the experiment continues ... . . .. .

Long intervals for me last night. 4x7:00 @ 4:04 mpk pace. It felt manageable but the last rep was done in the dark. It's sad to be losing the daylight.

This morning's jog was eventful, which is rare for my 5 am sessions. On one corner some kids were speeding and swerving all over the road, tossing trash and expletives out the windows. I got the brunt of the name calling but the garbage missed me. And just one street over an old Indian couple, dressed in simple, traditional clothes, were sitting on the sidewalk, silent and waiting.

I didn't know where I was running anymore.

KZ: I know how you feel. The days are getting shorter. My morning runs are starting in darker and darker conditions. I was caught in the downpour yesterday morning.

This morning's workout consisted of 3x12x 15 second repeats on the track.I was running along side a friend who was running a marathon pace workout in preparation for Chicago. It was hilarious as I would pass him only to stop and have him retake the lead. We exchanged leads for the entire workout and

enjoyed ourselves.

I'm looking forward to the Vaudrueil 5km on the 19th.

Have a good one.

Gro - sounds peaceful...until you wake up a bear .. ... your " all is well, autumn is upon us and the leaves are turning up here..." sounds a little like Robert Frost - you reading poetry up in the hills these days... : )

KZ - quel dommage ce genre de comportement, good to hear you didn't get hurt or that these disparate worlds didn't meet...

Yep folks, dark in the early hours, dark in the evening...

My turn for the 7 minutes tonight and I sucked, totally off the grid.

Mercury, Truxx, hope you guys are feeling a bit better.

Congratulations to Df and TB for their great races last weekend.

This morning I did my usual 2 x 2kmThreshold training. For me it was early although it was not exactly dark when I hit the road. The run went surprisingly easy. Up to now I always had to fight on the last 500m. Today not so.

Have a good weekend.

Thank you Ralf, good to hear from you and see that you are back at it with no glitches.

Fabulous weather today..just took a break from the chores, 4k romp around the neighbourhood, kids playing basketball, another pulled out his hockey net and stick, I kicked his ball back to him..the sound of lots of lawn mowers...I'll be doing that after lunch.

Bonus, butterflies and dragonflies at this time of year... enjoy the weekend - fly

Sounds like a nice run Gro, All this power walking is boring the hell out of me. So I said WTF today and went for a slow run in the local trails (Now thats what I'm talking about) screw the speed screw the pain it felt fcuking wonderfull to be out and about again.

Got a call today from a company the develops business applications for the Pharma industry and after a short interview with the HR Guy from Philly and his follow-up with the hiring manager they have notified me that they are interested and will set up an interview with me . Yippee.

My fingers and toes are all crossed for you Roly. The wife must be pulling out her hair with you being around all the time, besides, getting fatter by the minute doesn't make for good race results.....take it from me!

Speaking of which.....I interviewed well (with my partner Jeff) for a job at the Evelyn Grove Manor as their Building Supervisor. It's an old-age home in the heart of Fredericton. My job would be to keep the residents safe and inform the N.B. Social Affairs of any irregularies. I would be on-call 24/7 but a 2 bedroom apartment is offered free of charge, everything included. Our acceptance now goes to the next level of management for ratification. I will draw a decent salary as well and the posting was for a live-in couple.

Injuries continue to plague my effort to build a base for the fall. My foot will be operated on Oct. 22 but is killing me in the mean time. Everything hurts including driving the car, if you can believe it! The achilles tendon on the other leg aches continuously, but never when I run so I am able to put in miles but the faster I run, the more it hurts later in the day so it's a trade-off. This has to have been my most miserable running year ever!

Rather cool here in Fredericton....perfect XC weather!

Good luck on your acceptance, BTW do they know your definition of "live-in couple"?

I just got the call and my interview is tomorrow at 4:00.

Good luck to both of you guys. Roly, I hear ya, I ran on the hill last evening, hadn't all summer because of my buggy leg...it was so nice. Humid, water dripping off the trees, chipmunks, squirrels...lots of folks, other runners..took it easy on my way back down but thoroughly enjoyed it. Achilles grumbled this morning ..so back to flat.
