If I ever do a marathon, Philly is on the list!

Breaking in new orthotics with hill repeats... okay... was that wise? You couldn't have picked an easy jog day? (hmmmm... maybe you don't have any)

42 minute jog for me this morning and the calf was fine the whole way. Ice is my new best friend. My hammy felt funny though. Whipped out TheStick (trademarked) and loosened up the legs. This is a new addition to my routine. So now my runs consist of 1) the actual run 2) stretching 3) re-fueling 4) massaging, and never take me less than 2 hours, tbrnk.

I'm not yet 40 and I feel old. Apologies to everyone older than me.

In the climbing circles I used to frequent (admittedly shady), there was a slightly twisted view about climbing hotties. A guy (total climbing bum with misogynist tendencies) summed it up with "She can have the face of a cow and laugh like horse, but if she can throw down a V7, she's $#@#$* hot".

My morning run was for 70 minutes out & back along Lac St. Louis. It was great to see the sea-kayaker's embarking around 48th ave. on the glassy water. I hope to join them very soon. My experiment continues (as Gro would say) with the new "ortho's." My foot was numb almost the whole way and it felt like there was a rock in my shoe but no pain. It was a 50/50 grass to asphalt mix, so the jury is still out.

I reserved a spot in the Boilermaker in July. I missed out the last 2 years with injury and N.L., so now I have a goal. I will be in the Lasalle 10K next weekend and Ottawa in May. I also am arranging to run the Dublin, Ireland Marathon in October - if the foot issue gets resolved, that is! There is also a slew of Vermont races upcoming which I am considering.

Anyone running this event next weekend should check out the race calendar details. Because of the on going blue collar strike in the city, there have been changes made. The 10k has been changed, start times also.

Around the neighbourhood for me earlier, still experiencing problems with my ankle/achilles, its been months since I've done speed work or run on anything else but flat.

Merc: I'm so jealous - I wish I could run the Boilermaker this year.

It's been an easy week of running and I'll spend this week preparing for the Around the Bay 30km race in Hamilton next Sunday. It'll be nice to race there again and enjoy the company of runners as they prepare for their respective marathons.

Have a wonderful week,

Shake-out run this morning. Legs are sore as hell and 6:00/km felt just right for 50 minutes. I will try a regular week of running and see how the calf holds out. I'm on the upswing!

There is no better list of four elements: climbing, running, rabbit and Clint.

I didn't run over the weekend because I was working on the house.. I did run Fri, and today on my lunch break, so I am keeping in some shape. I have a long way to go before the end of May.. I just have to keep at it. It should go well.

April 1st, 10th & May 18th. The first 2 are 10K's and the last is a half-marathon. The 10's are in Shelbourne. I love Vermont~ Beats St. Therese
