I had a 35mph wind behind me which the was in my face on the way back.... raining sideways i managed 3:40 or something.... dying at the end. You used to be able to register on race day...... great for the injury-prone runners

Can't believe none of you have written anything about my friend . Have you no heart?

Thanks Ralf for the e-mail. Just spoke with Michael's doctor in India. He'd been shot in the left arm, thigh and buttock, and intestines. He suffered massive blood loss but was operated on last night. He's still in ICU but stable and his blood pressure has returned to normal.

News ...

Last one, hurrah.

SS - the headlines the last weeks have been disturbing, the Congo situation for one, very sad. When I checked the news yesterday and saw Mumbai - it just wasn't "computing" for me ...so I looked around for more information, who was "claiming" these actions..., so very sad. I hope Michael is doing better and will be good enough to eventually come home.

Half hour on tm at the gym last night, had initially thought of going back to track but find I'm still not back to my "bouncing off the walls energy" - heart rate is high for the effort I put in. 'fly

Came across an interesting article on factors that can cause pain in your feet:

http://health.nytimes.com/ref/health...=5070&emc=eta2

Ran intervals this morning 30 seconds on, 30 seconds off (9 repeats). It was a difficult workout as returned home late from 2 days in Toronto.

Looking forward to the weekend. I'll be getting a double dose of the J-C bridge as I'll be running on Saturday and Sunday before access closes until April 1st.

Have a wonderful day.

Thanks to all those who have written kind support messages here and on Facebook. The CBC woke me at 7am this morning (and of course, I'd gone to sleep really late totally exhausted). What they do for a story ... Canadian consulate is not letting any information out.

I have no desire to train ... and now I have to go get ready for an audition.

Hey Roly, paddling involves pulling water, not pushing it! You'll have to go backwards....... hee hee

Off for my first long run since NYC. Brrr.

Beautiful morning for a run. I ran with a coworker 7 years younger than me who trains regularly at the gym. I was worried that I would not be able to keep up with him but fortunately it was a good match. He enjoyed running at an easier pace at the beginning and I had no issue slowing down after the hour mark of our run. He's used to running 5min km as that is the only pace he runs at. We ran 13km and he's hooked on to the J-C bridge.

Ah.. one more J-C run for me. *sniff* I'm already feeling nostalgic.

Have a wonderful day everyone.

Ninja had to find it cold on the JC. I ran from Rosemont up to and around the cross on the mountain (2 loops at the top) and back home. The return back saw my hands frozen, even with mitts! On the Olmstead Rd., I needed a face mask coming down. 2:02 hours in all, at marathon pace (7:00-7:15) and faster the last 15 minutes as I was so cold.

It took 10 minutes with fingers under warm water to unthaw! The run itelf was eay though. Encouraging.

greetings from staffordshire...... a beautiful run for me this morning, about 13 miles along a British Waterways canal lined with barges and long boats, this run belongs on a postcard... if the weather's nice I will do the same run tomorrow and take the little flip video.....
have a great sunday........

Beautiful out there this morning - no wind, not cold. Wasn't alone, runners, lots of folks with their pooches. Went down to the track and put in four slow laps...hoofed home. Kept it short, have a few things to do outdoors around the house before it snows.

Enjoy - df

I just got back from a nice run out there. There are great conditions, and I am glad I ran a little... It seems like I am down to once a week, but that is better than nothing. I will try and squeeze in one run this week after work.. I don<t want to let the winter get the best of me.

Last J-C bridge run of the year. Ran with PS, and two others this morning. The conditions were much better than it was yesterday: clearer skies with less wind.

One of the other two runners had a calf issue and was forced to stop at the ile Jean Drapeau metro station. However he enjoyed that run.

We ran for about for about an 1.5 hours and the view was just wonderful.

The countdown to April 1st (when the access reopens) begins.

Have a good one,
