Isn't that funny... I had 2nd highest points out of 11 in 40-44AG and qualifed for Nationals in Utah. 11 females in Midwest region were invited out of 69 total point collecters. Even a novice MTBker like me can easily guess the trails in Utah are no comparison to the baby trails in Michigan but here is the tempting statistics. Only six 40-44AG female showed up at Nationals last year. There are Two slots to go to World in Maui. Based on the race times by the two females I know/raced against this year who went to National last year, I could finish in the midpack of that 40-44AG (per the last year's time). The slots could roll down, you know. Kind of tempting to consider heading to Utah for the Nationals in Sept. DH was talking about making a MTB trip out there anyway. Hmmmmm. The competition becomes much more fierce once I age up 45-49 (next year...), so there is little chance that I even qualify for Nationals next year. Of course I can try again to qualify at 50-54

We happened to be in Maui last year during the Xterra World (Oct). Saw a bunch of racers. Wouldn't it be super cool to race there? Dreaming is free.
