Hi 30s.

Not much happening today. I was planning on a 20 mile run today, but my legs just didn't have 20 in them. I had to settle for 13.4. And they weren't very good. Oh well, I won't dwell on it.

I had a nice conversation at lunch today with the gorgeous co-worker.

Not much else going on.

Have a great night everyone.

The Phillies lost. That stunk.

In other stuff, I took a try at doing a pull with just my right arm, starting with my right arm slightly bent at the elbow. I came within inches of pulling my chin up over the bar, so I'm getting even closer to the one arm chin up than I thought I was. Will still need to get to where I can start the pull from a dead hang and get the last bit of distance at the top, but I was really surprised at how close I am.

Katholeenie rocks! I inherited a rather large head and am finally glad to have a great hat to fit on it!

Did 5 miles @ 10:34 pace (!!) - attempted a bit of tempo during my run, for .9 and .6 miles. I'm assuming it's supposed to hurt so good...

Um, relationships suck. Just wanted to mention that.

Having a rather unpleasant week for a variety of reasons - but have been following the threads with interest, especially what people have put out about the QO-two-days-ago? I'm going to be contrary to my real-world persona and keep my mouth shut, cause it's just not a good week to wax philosophic on such things.

So there.

I am, however, going to have to figure out where I'm staying in Philly....

Anyhow, have a good evening...

Do you have another marathon coming up? I don't know that I can imagine doing a 20 miler that soon after a marathon Good job on getting 13.4 in.

Well I went to the park and got in 2.25 miles of walking/running. I tried to work on my pacing by using the track at the park. I need a lot more practice. I would have stayed longer but it started to rain and I had my garmin as well as some other stuff with me that I did not want to get wet.

Hmm... maybe I'll sneak up to see the olympic trials, too...

Hi Kini!
EQ- you're running a marathon on the 14th, yes? Never mind, I just saw your sig...

Cross-training day for me. I did an hour bike ride tonight. Felt good. I'm hoping the weather cools off for the races this weekend, though!

psst... winter... are you getting excited? I mean, to ROCK your first half???

For those wondering if I have lost my mind trying to do a 20 today...no, I lost my mind long ago!

Seriously, I am doing a marathon on the 14th of October in Lowell, MA. There was a method to the madness today. Really, there was.

See, I am following the Pfitz/Douglas program for 2 marathons 4 weeks apart. Today was the longest run in that program, a planned 15 miles. The idea with the 4 weeks between marathons programs is to use the first marathon as the last long run before the 2nd marathon.

Remember what happened in my first marathon? I only got 12.7 miles in. That's going to mean I haven't gone 20+ for 7-8 weeks when I go into the Bay State. I suspect, that might cause me to fade down the stretch.

That's why I wanted to do a 20 tonight. Body wouldn't cooperate. I can't complain though, I've been pushing the body pretty hard this week what with the 1/2 marathon race on Sunday, and a VO2max workout Tuesday night.
{{{Heather}}} I know funks. I'm sorry you are in one, hope it lifts soon.
Yep! And I'm enjoying listening to the game tonight. I have it on the tv in the other room, but I'd rather hear the game called by pro-Indians guys, so I'm listening to it on the radio instead.

Guess I should feel sorry for Coach T.

Nah.

Thanks for the birthday wishes everyone. I turned 30 on September 22, I've just been working a lot and not around the net with a lot of free time in the last couple of weeks. We're pretty busy at work so they've been calling us in a lot. I ended up sleeping 20 hours straight on my birthday. All I wanted to do was watch the LSU game and by the time I sat down to watch it, I saw the kickoff and then it was all over.

And I made an error earlier... CBS is coming tomorrow and ESPN game day is coming on Sat. of course... yeah, I was just trying to make the game happen sooner and wishing today was Friday!

Ok, must go to sleep now because I've agreed to wake up at an ungodly hour- 0330 so I can meet my aunt and go to the CBS thing starting at 0530, then off to NRP class for work. Hope everyone has a great Friday and good luck to those in races this weekend!

Hey all, (probably good morning...)

I had a similar running experience to EQ today. I was trying to make up for a couple of missed runs, so I was going to try and go kinda long this afternoon. I petered out at 13 miles, toughed out one more then started walking home. It started pouring down rain right about the time I died out there, so I got soaked and cold on my walk home. Aaaaanyways, "insert Cus quote here". 14 miles in 2 hours.

QOD: Garmin 201. Got it the day I started running seriously.

Refueling: A few years back a bunch of friends and I went over to play Bandon Dunes (golf nuts know about that course) and we were finishing up our 35th hole, right along the Pacific Ocean as the sunset. I looked up to admire the view and there, maybe a mile up, was a re-fueling mission. One of the coolest, most serene moments of my life.

Woo hoo D'backs up 2 games to 0 against the Cubs and the Coyotes won their season/home opener Just wish the Devils wouldve won but hey I cant have my cake and eat it too.

(((( Noni ))))

Night Kini
