Morning, Beth. Good luck with the toe.

That run in the warm conditions took all the starch out of me yesterday. By a quarter after 8, I was yawning nearly every minute and my aim became staying awake until 9 and my daily Lantus shot, testing my blood sugar and figuring out if I would need to eat a bit of a snack, then collapse.

Plop. Got up at 1:30, checked the blood sugar, drank a bit of chocolate soy milk and plopped back into bed again.

I feel less ploppy now.

Sorta like that guy, except there wouldn't be any bounce back up. It would just be plop, and then flattening out into a squishy morass.

Get to feeling better, Roo.

Good morning, guys. Hey, thanks again to everyone for all the baby advice recently. We'll take it all to heart, and I'm sure it'll help...

I had a nice interval run yesterday. Today's a day off from running, and I'll probably go to the gym.

Fort hose baseball fans out there, I spent a lot of time yesterday determining my picks for the MLB awards, and I posted a thread about it in the PRT, here. Your comments and criticisms are welcome...

Okay, I'm already late. Have a great day, folks...

Morning!

Well, my friend hadn't received any update on her mom's health. She's just very stressed right now. She and her mom have a difficult relationship at best, and her mom has been emotionally blackmailing her lately (far beyond just a guilt trip).

I did at least stop by to get my new shooz last night. They are the girliest ones I've ever had. The Brooks Addiction that I had before were light blue and silver, and now they are purple and silver.

Roo- in early December there is a Jingle Bell Run. Not sure what this year's date is yet but it should be in early December.

Mornin' gang!

Thanks for the comment yesterday Litch...you have a point. And it's one I normally would have told myself except I'm feeling rather disgruntled lately with this job search. We want to move home so much. Ah well...if it's meant to be, it'll happen.

Took the baby for a nice long walk yesterday. Stopped at a book store and picked up a copy of Into the Wild. I'm already halfway through. Interesting story.

Self-serving running QOD: Do you use a Garmin (or any Garmin-like device)? If so, what model? DH wants to buy me one for Christmas but I don't know which one to ask for.

I often feel like a squishy morass.

Are there any plans for the cheering squad this weekend at the TC Marathon? I'd like to go but I'm askeered of driving in the Cities (In all my years of driving up to Mpls/St. Paul I have driven there and back exactly ONE TIME without getting lost.) and I'd want to meet up with some people who know what they're doing and where they're going! I understand that traffic on Sunday will be a bee-yotch. bleah.

This reminded me of a funny 30's story that Voo told. He had purchased a new foam mattress, and tested it out by belly flopping on it. The problem was that there is no rebound in a foam mattress, so he went up and PLOP - flat on the mattress. The visual image of Voo doing this makes me chuckle.

Baseball season is over dammit

Good news bad news - I ran 5.5 miles this AM - longest since August 25. Ugh. And it is frickin humid out - 68* with 90%+ humidity. It is October for cryin out loud.

Time to grabe coffee, a bowl of cheerios, and see how the grant application proceeded.

Heh. I just feel more like a squishy ass. Anyway, got in 3.21. Forgot to go around the corner to get to my apt and had already stopped when I remembered, so I didn't get the last .04. Oh well! It was dark and humid. It rained overnight judging by the wet roads and it's still very overcast. Hopefully it will rain! We need it bad around here!

Already looking forward to my run tomorrow morning. Gonna do 5 miles at 8 am!! Not 6!! I took the day off for an eye appt that's at 10 am. So exciting to sleep in a little! Might even go to my fave trail!

Feel better Mandy!

Sorry about the baseball for those who didn't get what they'd hoped!

Later... gonna be late. Oops.

This is me from last night:

I'll post this again tomorrow, but I have to share now because I am freaking STOKED! This morning was absolute CRAP, and now, things are looking up:

1. Mole excision looks like it's being moved to one month before Philly, SO I WILL PROBABLY RUN.

2. I got an e-mail, requesting a phone conversation tomorrow from one of my job applications, and I'm assuming (you know what happens when you assume?) that they want me to go out for an interview!

3. The new fall season ROCKS!

4. My SIL is pregnant. For those keeping track at home, that's one sister and one SIL preggers. If they both safely deliver one child each, I will have SEVEN nieces and nephews. My mom is so overwhelmed, I'll NEVER have pressure to have a baby again!

This my friends, goes to show what the difference 14 hours makes in a person's life. You were all super wonderful to me today, and I greatly appreciate it.

Love and kisses to you all.

PS Moe, I didn't notice the skirt the first time around, but it looks AWESOME on you. We'll definitely have to get Philly pictures in our skirts together! And apparently I need to ask you about sitting in the cafeteria? Plenty to talk about in Philly!

This is me from this morning:

Practically bounced out of bed this morning because I wanted to get my run, breakfast, and shower in in plenty of time to get to school and get prepped for my phone call this morning. Got 3.2 miles in 40:15. Took the wrong route this morning, so I had to run past my apartment for a couple of blocks and walk back to I could get the whole time in. I have one more run until I graduate OHR! I'll run on Saturday, which will give me plenty of incentive to be good on Friday when I go out with a friend.

Hugs to all the people who feel ploppy today.

Good runs, everyone!

After reviewing the rest of yesterday's thread, can we add padoobies and haunted hoochies to the dictionary?

Prae - glad to here things on the upswing.

Solitot - feel better

Tim - glad the little one did well.
Thanks. I thought about doing a face shot of him, but then all you women would be drooling and all that. It's about hockey, not looks folks. And the Ranger's fortunes rest with Henrik Lundquist. And if I see one more pre season pick of the Rangers to win the Eastern conference - argh.

That is beyond cool for a hockey geek such as myself (although Bob Hartley should be nice to every one - his job security is nil at this point). My wife went to college with a guy who used to be the trainer for the Ducks a few years back (was let go after the team was sold), so we got to meet Paul Kariya and several others, plus get some good schwag now and then.
We love havin ya!
This made me spit out my coffee laughing.

I am solo Daddy duty from this afternoon through Sat night. Will be channeling LLSuperDaddy.

Hey kiddos!!! The air is like soup today, yuck!!

So hit the gym yesterday right from work so I could watch the Phils. Managed an hour on the elliptical and maybe 30mins or so on the bike. I still have faith in my Phils, we just need Chase and Ryan to get a hit today!!! One is all I ask for!!

Tonight is tri class, we are going to go over stretches for about 20mins, a 20min run and then 40mins in the spin room. I should be wiped out after that!

Forgot my lunch today which wouldn't be such a big deal but in my lunch was a Theia brownie!!! My friend made me some, sort of a pick me up from all the crap of last week. So while I won't miss my cheese sandwich so much, I will be thinking about the brownie all day!!!

Beth how did the toe hold up?

Jill I love sport beans! I always get the orange ones but tried the fruit punch at Danskin this year, they may be even better!!!

And while I didn't get to participate in yesterday afternoon's discussion, I have extensive experinece in writing grant proposals, even got most of them funded!!! And I have been to both male and female strip clubs, so if you need a consultant, let me know!

I am getting excited for Bob and 2oh!!!! We will soon have some cute babies pics on the thread!!

Oh and speaking of cute pics, nice new avatar KP

QOD: I have a Garmin, the 201 and I have the Timex Ironman watch with GPS. I like them both!! I am not one to download runs etc so I am fine with the features both have. But if you want to use all the features, others here can giveyou some great advice. I like hte Timex becuase I can wear the watch anytime. It came in really handy during my swim workouts for the tri.

Happy Thursday.

Still juicy in Northern MN and making noises a pretty girl doesn't usually make, even the dogs are lookin' at me funny.

Hi Solar!!

Hey LL!!

BigG - I am glad you're here.

Winter - you rock.

Colleen's QOD - I just finally bought a watch to run with a couple months ago, baby steps for me with the whole technology thing.

Got our tests back in my corp finance class last night. That was nice. Unfortunately, I think I am going to have to kill the professor. I understand the whole scatterbrained teacher thing - hell, I taught 8 year olds for 5 years, I get it. However, in all my years of school, including that first time through college, I've had 3 teachers who I just could not respect, this lady is one of them. Ish. I wrote a poem about it, will be posting it in the PRT.

I hope people have good Thursdays!

Beaker - yeah, the air is like soup out there down here too.

Running - just back from an early 6.5 miles. Ran with a guy from the track club that I didn't know. It was great to have someone who would push the pace. We did about 8:00 m/m. This was good for me considering I did 10 miles with 5 x 1200 track intervals last night. Finished that up at 8:45 pm, and then did this run at 5:30 am.

QOD - I got a Garmin 305 this year and I love it. So I would recommend that. It's the one with the Heart Rate Monitor, and I do use that part too. Otherwise, the 205 is basically the same.

Oh, and the real reason behind the margarita flavored bloks is not the for the whole party in your mouth theme, but that's the flavor that has 3x the sodium of the other bloks. Therefore, it's a good sodium replacement food during long runs. And, I don't think they taste bad. If you can eat gummy bears, you can eat these. Sorry Moon.

Morning all. I'm a total morass this morning ...you know, where you feel like more ass than not. ugh. Anywho, got some yoga in last night and dude, was I ever sweating. Good sweating tho. Tonight is up in the air ...either some easy miles w/strides or time off depending on how tired I'm feeling. No sense pushing anything this close to D-Day. Besides, I gotta be ready to run with CoachT tomorrow morning.

Kini - read your post from last night too fast... I thought it said you were running on the TM, got bad cramps and switched legs. You'll get there.

QOD - I use a Garmin Forerunner 305

Baggio - what up with the back? Morning folks.

No running/walking yesterday, but I had another awesome yoga session. I was even more psyched to learn that in late Oct, a 5:00 class (maybe 5:15) will be offered.... therefore, I won't have to wait until 7:00 for class! Woohoo!

I'm planning on hitting the TM for another 2 or 3 tonight, with another .25 run in it. I'm gonna use the same shoes/brace/sock style as before, to see if I still get good results. If I do, I'll consider trying another pair of shoes next time.

Moonie - Heh.. I snickered at your review of the shot blocks. When I first tried them at the Pig's expo, I had a cola flavored one. I took one bite of a block, and knew instantly that they weren't for me... but I didn't want to be rude and spit it out in front of the vendor folks. So, I walked away, and eventually managed to gulp the rest of it down without chewing it. Bleck!

Beaker - Funny you should mention Theia brownies. Yesterday I purchased the necessary items to make my first batch of these this weekend!

Speaking of weekend.. who all is racing this coming Fri/Sat/Sun?
