Seriously, dude, do you ever read my posts???

seriously, my cheek still hurts. I must have tweaked it somehow...dang it

Re: morning runs and caffeine....depends on how early I am getting up to run. If it is after 5, I am usually pretty stoked by the run itself and can last until 11 or so w/o caffeine if need be. Earlier, and I am a'draggin'.

Mornin' folks. Can I have a summary of the first 4 pages, please? Thank you.

1550m swim this morning in about 50min.
I flew through the first 1000m in 32min, and then just sort of glided through the last 550 in about 20 minutes. Longest swim yet, time-wise and distance wise, and I could have easily gone farther if I had more time.

The first thing I do in the morning is make coffee.

Well first thing after stabbing a finger to check the glucose and using the bathroom

Coffee first. Unless a cat trips me.

Otherwise coffee first!

Unless my blood sugar is low and I need to get some carbs in me.

But coffee first!

Morning. I'm sleepy. I don't know how many hours of sleep I got last night. Blah. I realized I can't take DD to the gym daycare so I must workout from home. This will suck. Get me to the gym and I don't want to stop doing stuff because I'm afraid people will look at me and think I need to stay longer. Here at home I can cut workouts short. And to top it off, my throat hurts.

llgreenberg Your tat is cool! I won't show you my measy one. And it doesn't even have color. I've thought numerous times about getting it touched up and color added. I'm a wuss though and I don't want to go through the pain again. Mine is on the top of my foot.

Timr1 Have I missed something? Are you military? I love military folk. My Grandpa was in the AF (fighter pilot) and DH was in the Army. I wish we had a military base closer to us. I love the sound of the jets taking off and landing and their practice runs. I miss NC just for that.

p.s. you can say drop and probe any ol time you want.

Theia I really want your brownies. Don't feel so bad about missing your run this morning. Listen to your body.

Must. refrain. from. posting. AHHHHH!!!!

Thanks for all the good vibes for my daughter. She needs them. It didn't take long for the strep culture to pop up positive. Poor girl. I'm going to take a nap with her today when she sleeps.

Hey guys, love the 97X...wait for it...BAM! That's too funny.

No, I'm not in the military...like Pacer, I too am colorblind and they kinda frown on that sorta thing when you want to fly planes. But, I'm surrounded by it:

Dad - Flew F-111s in the USAF (that pic that I posted with the guy holding the Penthouse mag, that's where my Dad sat, that was his office for 4.5 years), currently in the Coast Guard Reserves
Brother #1 - Captain the USAF, he's an endodontist (turns out pilots need their teeth fixed too)
Brother #2 - Captain USMC, going to IRAQ next year
Father-in-law - Retired Full Colonel, ARMY, West Point Grad class of '54
1st Cousin - Navy, currently stationed in Bahrain

So, you can see why I did the USAF marathon this year and I'm doing Marine Corps in a few weeks.
That is cool. Makes you wonder how far away they are from an auto-pilot carrier landing.

About 8 years ago, I was on a commercial flight where the captain came on while we were taxing to the gate and told us that we had just experienced a fully auto-pilot landing.

Solitot - Hope she feels better today.

I break lots of Nature's Laws...

Breakin' the law! Breakin' the law!

...and thanks...

(('tude n' 'tot))

G'morning all - today's the staff luncheon, which is a small reward for all the madness they've put us all through this year. This year its being catered by a local hot dog chain, so it should be pretty decent.

Feel better {{{roo}}}

A Theia brownie - after yesterday's thread, I thought of this in a naughty context, but then realized that would probably be more of a Theia Oreo cookie instead

Timr1 - I'll definitely send you all the Margarita shot bloks I come across Seriously, other flavored shot bloks I've tried aren't bad & I wouldn't mind them on a run. The margarita one, though - ugh.

As far as refueling, it sounds like you hit it on the nose (love the closeup pic too.) It's amazing the skill it takes to do that stuff (being a Navy brat, I was also fascinated by how oilers and other supply ships did their replenishment duties.)

As a tangential topic, they're still having Fleet Week over here this weekend despite this area's pretty much earned anti-military viewpoint. Probably the main reason why there will be more Canadian representation fleetwise than U.S., though they will still have the Blue Angels perform, despite some local pols putting up quite the stink. And judging from your experience, I should try to find some Canajun tourists this weekend and see if they joke up a storm

Hey PTom - did you get the calf massage yet? Did it turn out okay?

Some awesome tat work there LL - those colors just shine through

Anyway, gotta' get back to work before the brats and beer (well, no beer, unless management has a humongous surprise in store for us heh)

Thanks for the info, Tim! I can't see the pix though. I'll look when I get home...same for your tat pix, LLneedstogrowhisarmslongertoaccomodatetheinkberg.

((((Soli and solitot))))

Good swimming HH!

Quick PHILLY question: Anyone staying at Club Quarters in Philly????

Morning all!

I've been MIA a bit. Knee report is good. Doc says two more weeks of no running but I can do other things like walk, elliptical, bike, or swim. I've even the OK to do my Turbokick class if I wear the knee support, so all is good.

Looking forward to the game against Florida this weekend. Sorry about Auburn last week, Bob. I dislike them more than I dislike your team. It's all in fun though.

CBS morning show was here this morning and ESPN game day is going to be on Campus tomorrow. Should be fun. My aunt is a member of the Bengal Belles so I'm going with her to have lunch with the coaches and players today, very excited.

Will catch up with everyone later today. Hope everyone has a good day!

PS, I'm officially 30 now!

I have the utmost respect for military pilots (or any soldier for that matter). Those fighter pilots are so skilled yet so cool under extreme pressure. Like in this video when a F16D pulls a goose into the engine on take-off and it stalls-out:

http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=ijsCAeGMiBw

Amazing.

Happy Berfday! (whatever day it was/is; maybe it's today.)

Don't be a stranger. Enjoy the big game excitement and the #1 ranking. As all of us know, it could all come crashing down with one missed FG or fumble. But hey, that's why they play the games and that's why we watch em.

Wow. I remember being 30. Barely.

Happiest Birthday of all Tiff!

alright! I know it's not Friday for you people, but for me it is. So...Entertain Me! Please.

Merry Mary McTortle: You still making those noxious noises? sweet.

Winter - yeah it should stay that colorful, for a while anyway.

Kevin - This is my right arm. Lighthouse is on the other arm.

Solitude - Come on! Let's see it. Plllllleeeeeeaaassseeee?
