Wow, now what are you going to do with no excues :)

Plus it would be nice to see you again.

Hey Mike! I certainly appreciate it. And yes, it would be great to see you again as well. What has it been, 4 Years (2006 Glacial Trail 50M)?

Well, just so happens, I am headed back there to run GT50M once again in October.

I gave NC24 alot of thought, but as much as I like (not love) the pavement, the trail continues to draw me back for more.

I understand

I am doing

Milwaukke Marathon

Fall 50M Door County

Monkey Marathon

this fall

I would like to do a couple of ultra's next winter / spring

Maybe

John Dick Crusty 50k

Mad City 100k (if they have it)

Ice Age

But I could be talked into others.

Crusty 50K is a great mid winter race. Ran it in 2009 on a roughly 10k look course.

If I don't run that one in 2011, I am surely headed down to Kentucky in Feb(12th) to run Louisville's Lovin the Hills 50K. If you want some serious hill work,

this is the race to run in the midwest for sure.

I am also conidering these:

Double Chubb 50K - Middle of April

Berryman 50M - Middle of May

Kettle Moraine 100K - First weekend in June

you've got your 2 out of 4. Mark is signed up. Mr James is still slightly unofficial but committed.

It's looking like a sunny day on Saturday. Most of the course gets full sun so be prepared. Sun is not near as strong as peak summer but it will still give a full burn if you're exposed all day.

oh course I am kidding, there is no beer allowed in the park ... nudge, nudge, wink, wink!

Yes, I know - no beer allowed. I most certainly will not be bringing a cooler or anything like that to keep beer I mean Gatorade cool.

i seem to have contracted a cold 2 days before the race. oh well, goals amended to show up and have fun i suppose. save one of those *gatorade's* for me fellas!

Race webcast available http://www.chaneyevents.com/nc24.html.

The midges have arrived. Keep your "gatorade" covered.

I think if David can keep it under 86 miles the 1st 12 hours he has a shot of doing something special - But then again I am more of a endorser of a more even paced game plan. I could see him doing 86/78

But more likely if he is going for it - He end up with 92 miles in the 1st 12.

My Men's dark horse is Chris Peverada - I did a bit or research and spoke to him on another board and I think he has the tools to knock it out of the park - Just a matter of strategy and what he has that day. If he follows a good strategy - I would have him in top 3 men.

A lot of people (Not at this race) could benefit from Phil and Serge making top 3.

It will be fun - I am packed and we are leaving WI @ 5:30am tomorrow!

woohoo! listening to this right now and getting psyched for it!! shipping out of the ROC at 11 AM, gear is packed and i'm ready for some fun. looking forward to meeting some kicksters... stop by the bug tent and say HI!

Although I am not even remotely good at 24 hour racing I do enjoy watching it online and I think there are few smart runners right now running very controlled and a few that are just runnign too strong to early, I think this thing will shake out totally different in the next 10 hours. Here is to those running controlled!

Nice mix of men and women in the top 15 or so . . . will definitely get interesting during the night .

Wow - that was fun!

Flounder, really enjoyed meeting you and chatting with you, hope our trails cross again.

Shellerz, I really enjoyed chatting to you as well - what a super run you had, just fabulous - you have to be so proud of the way you pushed through those 90ish miles. Congratulations again . Rest and recover well!
