agh! speedy healing to you, Cus!

I can't see the Bella pix at work

Can anyone remind me why I got up at 4:30 to run this morning? 'Cause my ass is dragging right now and I have hours of work left and more miles to go... Can you say Tylenol PM tonight? ugh.

That's good. So you're probably going to have 6 weeks of cast time and after that the ortho will probably put you in a borg boot, I'd guess.

You probably already know this, but make sure you get plenty of calcium in your diet. And I seriously suggest to help ease the loss of 2 legged activity that you find some sort of exercise program to work with. I would have gone out of my mind last year if I hadn't done something.

Oh man, Cus, that sucks. Wishing you speedy healing without going stir-crazy.

(((((((((((((((((CUS))))))))))))))))) That totally sucks dude!

Great Tempo Jen. I know how you feel about them (even if we totally run different paces).

I got in 19 min (1.67 miles and I varied the incline throughout) on the eliptical before heading to pilates. Pilates was mostly legs today so I got lots of hip flexor activity, hopefully it will help.

RFTL - I could have written a very similar entry. (except I don't have a blog and I don't have kids) I definitely prefer running in the morning -- wish I could do all my miles in the morning every day -- but since my gym opens at 5 (4:45, really) and I have to be AT work by 7am, my running before work is limited. *sigh*

By the way, I've checked out your blog a couple times. Good reading. Thanks!

After seeing Cus' post, I feel compelled to stop feeling bad that I may have to take another day or two off for my hammy/groin/quad to heal up. It feels much better today than yesterday, though the painful part seems to be moving down along my inner thigh. Strange, but now the groin feels ok, the hammy just feels like it's really really tight, and the quad has a little pain. I think a few more days' rest will do the trick and since I'm still not officially training for anything, that's OK.

Cus - hope your bone knits together quickly before you go nuts...I know how I am after a few off days, I couldn't imagine weeks or (gulp!) months of no running.

Ugh, Cus - so sorry, dude Here's hoping for a hopefully quick and definitely full recovery, and some extra mojo to fight any stir-craziness you might get.

I almost did that a week back. Thankfully I was entering the pool at the time, so the water took some of the brunt of the impact

Damn, Cus, that sucks. Sounds like you were almost finished with the run, too. Good healing vibes going out to ya!

Just got back from 8 miles in the snow in 1:12:52 (9:07/mile). It felt a tad chilly out -- 27*F with a windchill of 15*F. Snow was coming down pretty good. Could hardly open my eyes on the way out. Had ice in my beard when I finished!

Agree 100%, I need to stop complaining about my little aches and pains! Last time I was hurt, I walked into a door and busted my lip open after about 5 days of "rest"...pent up energy can be hard to deal with. I hope you heal up quickly Cus!

Pacer, dude, you are totally training for Boston, COME ON ALREADY!!

That totally sucks! And reinforces my fear of running outdoors in the dark during winter. I was hoping that I could convince you to do Martha's Run 10k in April with me, and now I'm hoping that you have a speedy recovery and get back on the road as soon as is safe.

Remind me some time to tell you about the skydiving accident I had in 2003.

I wouldn't have expected anying less, but you guys/gals are great.

Thanks for the input Scratch.

Voo, I was totally in the home stretch. I will tell you this, covering the last 500 yds with a broken leg was brutal. There were tears coming out of my eyes.

You all hit the nail on the head. I have to find something else to do for the next couple of months. I suspect I'm going to get really good at Mario & Sonic's Wii Olympics.

Thanks again.

ETA. Prae, I swear you were one of the first people thought of when I crashed. Obviously, ignore any advise I give about being safe running at night.

My mom did back in the 80's. And trust me, it ain't cool to have to bring that inflatable donut seat with you where ever you go. Much cooler to have a cast that people can actually sign.... although...hm...nevermind.
