Ides of January.

So how y'all feeling? I'm feeling better now that I've taken a couple days of rest. Should be able to run after work this afternoon, plan on doing only about 5 miles.

I came across a decent online article which I think matches up well with the ideas and philosophy I've been trying to achieve with my working out.

http://health.msn.com/fitness/articl...ntid=100184336

Good morning Scratch and those who follow.

I am so tired right now. My neighbor didn't show up for our morning run. Since I have speedwork scheduled for later in the day, I just decided to bag the run, but for some strange reason, I didn't get back to sleep.
Must. Make. Coffee.

On the TM by 5am for 5 miles before work. No sleep last night (too much in my head) so today's going to be a looooooong day. I feel good after my run, though. Now I need to hustle to get to work!

Becca - I'll take some of that coffee, please

Didn't get out with the group last night. I don't think they went. At least I assumed they didn't since it was storming like crazy. I think my exercise today will consist of shovelling the driveway.

Morning all. 3.5 on the mill last night, and weight training. I .. am... so.. tired. I'm sure it's a combo of upping miles / days worked out / plus weight training, but if I don't fall asleep at my desk today, it'll be a miracle.

zzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzz

Yoga tonight. Maybe I can stay awake through that. Well, cept through Shavasana. That may be a challenge.....

Good Morning!

I got in my two runs yesterday. My left knee killed me during the first run, never really loosened up...oh no. Then, during the PM run it felt much better...okay. Then, I got sucked into some tennis...oh no, but not too bad. So, I have a tempo to do today, but if my knee hurts too badly, I'll just take it easy. It feels a little sore right now, but I'm still in bed so I guess that isn't the best way to test it out.

I may need to take a few of days off, but I don't want to. I just planned out some races for the next two months and I hate to mess things up. I'll just keep playing it by ear and see where I'm at in a couple of days.

It sounds like a few of us are dealing with some nagging pains.

Have great runs today!

I did some butts and guts last night and now my hip hurts just. sitting. here. wahhh. wtf? It's not like I've done any crazy long runs or anything nor have I fallen down. I'm just pissed.

On a brighter note, I've volunteered to be a water stop person for a group from my (recently joined) running club on Saturday early a.m. It's their last long run, 20 miler, before their marathon in Jacksonville. So that should be fun. Yay!

Off to get ready for work, please pass the coff-ay!

Morning all!

Feeling some tenderness this morning in my leg. Going to be ultra-careful and see if I can't ice it into submission before I try running again later this week. Doctor says I should be able to get back into things...WHY CAN"T I???

Oh well, so easy non-weight bearing workout tonight.

Good runs to all!

Hey gang.

I didn't get to run yesterday as planned. Firehouse training night just went too long and I got home too late.

No biggie. It just means yesterday became my day off for the week. So now it's on to six days straight.

Heading to the gym this morning for some easy treadmill miles.

I didn't get to run yesterday either. Was going to do 2 miles after work, and then do some cardio machines (interesting article, btw, Scratch!) but I had a last minute change in plans that involved an errand and a lot of driving. I didnt' get home until 8:30 and hadn't eaten supper.

Today is a scheduled rest day as always, but I hope to get some walking done at lunch time.

Today is day 2 of HH's Novice 1/2 Plan - 3 miles easy.....I can to that! Will be on the tmill b/c I'm wimping out of running in the cold, dark wintery night that's on tap for CNY.

Need thoughts / opinion re: 1st 1/2 location...I have planned to use the Skunk Cabbage as my 1st official 1/2 (it's on 04-06-0. Only 2 hours from my house. HOWEVER, I found a 1/2 on 04-06-08 that starts and ends 1/2 mile from my dad's place in MI. And my mom and sister live close by there, too (e.g., 20 min max). Now I have to decide which I want to do. It would be great to do my 1st 1/2 and have my family nearby. My DH would go, I think, to the Skunk Cabbage as my support team but I'd have even more support if I did the MI 1/2. Oh, the MI 1/2 is a good 7-8 hour drive from my house! What to do, what to do?

Morning, friends--

Well, I'm paying for all that working out last night (2.5 miles on TM, arm machines, 5 min. on rowing machine, 30 min. on bike). Had a hard time dragging myself out of bed, even after 8 1/2 hours! I need to get a lot of work done today, so hopefully I can get some energy. Yoga tonight.

((((())))) to all the injured folks. BigG, my left hip/glute has been bothering me for about a month for no discernable reason, though yours sounds more painful. I'm wondering if my body is shifting in composition a little. I haven't lost any weight, but I'm losing inches, especially around my waist and hips, and I'm wondering if the pain is a function of a realignment of my hips as I lose weight. I don't even know if that's physically possible, but it makes sense to my non-medical brain. Have you been trimming down in that area? Hope your hip feels better soon.

I hope everyone gets their make-up/scheduled runs in today. Have a good one!

Morning all! I had quite the night o' activity yesterday. Elliptical warm-up, kick ass spin class and then some heart-racing volleyball. I felt great tho! Of course my hammies were both barking this morning. Bastages. Tonight is some weights and some running; will take it easy and see where it gets me.

((((To all those with aches & pains))))

Sara - I'd do the trip to MI and run the HM there; family makes for an incredible support system.

Martian Marathon - starts and ends at UofM-Dearborn - runs along Hines Drive. http://www.martianmarathon.com/. Not too far from Grand Rapids!!!

That's what I was thinking. I do like the idea of having more family (oh, and friends) around.
