You get back to the work, and the first phone call you get is from someone you just REALLY don't care for at all asking you to do something you REALLY don't care to do. But because there's "supposedly" (sorry for the quotes Theia, but my fingers are wagging energetically when I say this) no one who's physically able to do the job and/or low enough on the proverbial employment totem pole to do the task at hand, you have to do it.

I'll just check back when I feel better about things. Hugs to {{{all of you}}} because you actually deserve the hugs more than my whiny self does right now

Aren't we all!!!

GoV, glad you appreciated that. I worked on it my entire run!

Mornin' all!

Not feeling all that hot today for some reason. Got a headache. I was kinda out of it yesterday for some reason. Felt real sleepy, that icky sleepy feeling.

And I'm not sure what I want to do about running this week. Supposed to be another 50-mile week, but some buddies want me to go up to Detroit with them on a boat. The one guy just bought a new boat (I think he paid $100K for it used (!) ). That would take up my entire weekend and leave me not so rested Monday.

And my dad and brothers are playing in a golf outing Sunday and called to see if I wanted to play. I think I'd rather do that. I dunno. It's a toss up between ridiculous partying in Detroit all weekend, or staying on my running schedule and actually taking care of myself for once and enjoying some quality time with my dad and brothers. Decisions.

And from the this'll-make-you-cry files... My uncle called yesterday to tell me that he ran in a 5k the other day in Wheeling, WV, so it was a bit of a hilly course. This is the same uncle who decided he wanted to run a marathon and I had done some long runs with until he hurt himself.

Anyway, he's 52 years old and hasn't been running. He's been a cyclist his whole life and plays tennis regularly. Some buddies talked him into doing the 5k and he thought he had signed up for the walk. When he got his number, the bib color was for the run, so he decided he'd just go ahead and run it.

Well, he ran a 22:47. Placed 4th in his age division. And it seems to be a pretty good race. The winner ran a 14:03! I think there were just over 400 people running the 5k and probably a similar number walking it.

Back after a weekend of traveling to the in-laws –

I got 10.5 bee-yoo-tee-ful miles on Saturday – the weather perfect for running - and another eight miles last night in similar conditions.

Brandy – sorry to hear about your unsatisfying race (just read further – make that weekend). Keep in mind that both you and your DH have been putting in quite a few miles lately – PRs mileage-wise for both of you if I recall correctly – you’re going to lose a lot with respect to leg turnover by doing that. Once you’ve had a chance to properly taper though you should be much faster – both of you. It’s hard to train for more than one goal race at a time – just have faith in your training plan and you’ll be rewarded in the fall.

Welcome EQ – you’ll soon discover that this is a great group.

Welcome back Myron, Lori and Tim.

Happy (belated) Birthday Kris. It sounds as though you had a good one.

Melissa – the TM 18 miler went well – it’s all mind over matter – like Satchel Paige once said, “If you don’t mind, then it don’t matter.” I just go out and do it. To me it’s neither better or worse than running outside.

Voodoo – thank for that truly disturbing run report. Thank you very much. That’s all I got to say.

Big Gahoona Jennifer – I’ve run in Brooks Adrenaline too – they’re pretty nice shoes, but I’ve discovered that when they go, they go quickly.

Nice photo of the kids Tom.

That's Ok Katholeenie - don't post a photo, I'll just have to go with my mental image then.

Moe – here’s a suggestion for tonight’s class:

No QOD yet?

Good runs to all.

Trevor

Actually, from what I've heard and read, it's not really uncommon for a dishwasher to be hard-wired directly into the box. It was just us being the donuts we are that made the situation all the more comical.

And excellent Monday morning photo! I think a lot of us appreciated the smile that one brought!

That goes without saying. Except if I'm in running gear, then it's commando, baby

me too.

I can't see most photos at work...that may be a good thing or a bad thing.

Ha! Voodoo....read my homeowner's vent post for my moronic attempts at home(err....yard) improvement. 2.5 hours to move a fountain 20 feet and it doesn't work. grumble. DH, although he doesn't know it, will be helping me with it tonight.

T-rev - thanks for the support. Yeah, the mileage has been higher. I guess during that first phase of running, one gets spoiled with pr's. sigh. I was a little upset when I learned that Sven ( http://www.kare11.com/company/bios/t...storyid=126844 ) the weather guy (crane will know who I am talking about) beat me by less than 2 minutes. Argh. On a good day, I would have beat him. I wonder if he would have shouldered me off the path as well....he seems nicer than that. Anyways, I was whining about this and DH says, Well, if he trained like you do, he'd beat you all the time. Not what I wanted to hear!

Yea, I did see that and it reminded me of every project, no matter how large or small, that I've attempted. Just gotta keep at it, I reckon.

Well, in response to your question, it is definitely something to be worn at an adult tap class.

Cupcake was awesome...
