Compression socks: I use Recovery Socks and I love them. Not too tight. They make me feel warm and cozy and good after I put them on.

TCM training thread: Yes, I'd participate. How many are doing it?

Way to go MrJenRuns on his furthest distance! Jen, those "slow" paces that you are running would likely be around what me and the mystery guest (is it a secret??) would run at Urban Half. I think you should do it if you are feeling up to the distance. You could register under a fake name so you wouldn't be embarrased by the time in a race!

boB - sounds like it was a great morning! I can't imagine running on a tarmac in that heat.

Crane and BigG - nice work in brutal conditions today!

Hi Dan! (((((Dan's hammy/glute/hip))))

KP - nice run! What sort of plan are you following?

Tonya - nice negative bike split! Just barely is good enough!

Brandy - how was Hyland? Were there tons of deer flies? I was at Carver and they were horrible.

I should have started my run an hour earlier. It was horribly hot when the sun came out. (77 and full sun by the time I was done). Goal was 13 w/ 8 at MP. I finished with 13.5 and 8 at MP (8:16 - 8:32) . BUT - I am quite sure I didn't run the MP miles the way Pfitz envisioned them when he wrote the plan. I had to do them in chunks, with ultra easy miles mixed in between them. It was just too hot to do 8 MP miles in a row. Plus I had MAJOR MAJOR GI issues mid-way through my run, so needed to stop (but couldn't find a porta-potty until 2 miles after the issues began). The deer flies motivated me to run fast, just wanted to be done. Brutal run.
