i've sort of got a headache (sinus pressure thingy) so I'm trying to resist. I want to make sort of pina colada though... (milk, ice, creme of coconut, pineapple, bit of lemon juice, banana and RUM!) It'll make me feel better, right??

Rum...............mmmmm.......pina colada........

winter - thong. I'm not sure about the technical difference between a thong and a G-string. I've dated exactly one woman recently who wore a thong. She looked miffed when I said "G-string".....so there must be some important difference!

Hey peeps.

today had its highs and lows (none too extreme though). Let me start with the lows: my friend and I ended up walking along Comm Ave today, at BU. The frosh are all moving in, and there are people walking around giving out stuff. 2 young women approached Dave and I and said, hi, do you have children starting school at BU? Um, no. NO! Ok, technically, I guess I could have a college age child, but I don't and I don't want this chickie doodle thinking I'm old enough to have one either! Gees. (Sorry Sage...I am younger than you and you were apparently 12 when you had your oldest.) Then I went to the real Filene's Basement before they close this weekend...for at least 2 years. It was the saddest sight I've ever experienced in my retail life. I love the Basement. I am a real, tried and true bargain shopper. I've experienced the wedding gown sale, the prom dress sale, I know how the Automatic Markdown works (and how it changed a couple of years ago), I've bought designer stuff on hugh markdown, and things from the Charity Desk. The Basement was decimated...whole sections were cordoned off and filled with empty racks. It was actually painful for me to see it. I know it's just a store, but I grew up coming here and it will never be the same. *sigh*

OK, so enough lows. The highs today were: getting to see my friend Dave, since I haven't in a couple of months, esp since his dad is probably dying of cancer and I wanted to see how he was doing. And we got to have lunch together too. Plus we walked about 11 miles today, so I'm feeling pretty good. And I'm feeling about 80% which is HUGE. Thank goodness. And my friends invited me over for a cookout tonight, so I had something to do besides sit at home. So that's good.

Oh and I did find a $25 dress at Marshalls that I'll probably wear. It's much better than the nekkid dress. It's still pretty backless, but it's a halter and it's got WAY more coverage than the other one. And it's not so clingy.

Great run, Scratch!

Mandy, glad to hear the toe is a little better.

Good luck racers tomw and Mon!!!!

Mary, do we get pix?? Is he pic-worthy?

Chris!!!! Nice to see you! I was just talking about you...but I don't know why. OH! I remember, I had a dream about you recently. No, not that kinda dream.

OK, I'm gonna go watch a taped episode of Dirty Jobs. I'm becoming obsessed with Mike Rowe. He's freakin' hot. And funny too.

Note to self - if looking at women's underwear, only appropriate comment is "those look great!"

Hi Gang,

Nice to see you Doc!

Missed the good vibrations in chat last night. I was logged in, but watched Murder on the O.E. with DD1 and didn't pay attention to chat after a while.

Ran 5 miles with the group this morning at recovery pace. I might brick mañana with a run and ride. My neighbor must have enjoyed our ride last Sunday because he asked about going again tomorrow.

I had a funny thing happen after the Duck victory today. Look in the PRT brag thread for more info...

Welcome back doc!

Greeting all. Well, the forum blackout almost caused me to miss my running date with Flemdawg. I hadn't printed out the PM with his number and then this morning, I couldn't get to it. So, after two tries to directory assitance while en-route to our meeting spot, I finally got him on the phone.

So, we did meet up and had a nice run in the steamy mid-morning north alabama heat. I did a point to point, starting where we met, and ending at my inlaws house. Flem and I ran together until about 10.5 miles then he did a u-turn to get back to his car. I ended up with 14 miles, he probably ended up with about the same. Great run and always fun to run with a fellow 30s.

After I got back, we visited with DWs relatives from Canada, had a nice dinner and then drove up to my parents house.

GatorBob - We'll see where UM drops to.

Rabbit, Rabbit.

Hi there folks. Busy day today. 17 miles in an hour on the bike followed by 4 miles in 40 min. The run just dragged. It was only 97* or so, but it felt hotter. I was going to do more, but decided a taper for Monday's 8 miler would be a good thing.

Then me and the boys went to Home Depot, bought some wood and plants. Then this evening, we got some yardwork done and started working on making a replacement drawer for DS#2's dresser. Looks like this will be a practice drawer and I'll need to redo it again with a bit more careful measurement and cutting. I am no expert in the wood shop, but do like to try and get better at things.

Well, going to sleep soon and planning on a 2 hour bike ride before church.

Hey all - weird not having the thread for such a long time. I didn't even think about checking to see if there was a yahoo chat either. And I missed Maureen's winky eyes and jazz hand stuff yesterday too...dang!

Got in 14 mi biking, 1000 m swim, and my first running action in over a week - felt good. Also had my fantasy football draft today - ended up burning my food contribution to the party, but when all else fails, bring

Scratch - congrats on the long run!

So good to see you Doc! Enjoy your trip up to Toronto - I really like that city. Doesn't sound good about the ankle, but I hope it's something that can be fixed up ok.

Bob - good luck on the 20K on Monday...same for you on tomorrow's LR Jill!

Glad to see your meetup went well for you Timr and Flem - got one coming up with Noni and her BF in the next few days (have a safe trip over to the left coast!)

The only downer for today was I was traveling back home today and it seemed like a gear slipped or something, because the care engine started revving a lot higher for the speed I was doing. Funny thing is I scheduled the car for service next Friday - I sure hope the transmission's not going or anything like that.

Later folks!

Well I am back from playing poker at my sisters. It was a pretty good evening. Pizza and beer for the guys, pizza and wine for us ladies. Except my sister who is 3 months pregnant so she got to watch us drink. I did alright. I could tell it had been a while since I played in person though. I was a bit rusty.

Good morning 30s.

I'm gonna go attempt a little run. It's so cool and clear out, I can't imagine better weather to test out the ailing lungs. At least the weather won't be a factor if they don't hold out. It'll be just a mile or two.

As for the rest of the day...well, I'm not sure. We're heading up to Gloucester this afternoon is see my BF and her family (and to go to Farnum's in Essex for fried clams and onion rings), but my sister told me she'd pick me up and take me with her to my parents if I want to head up there to see everyone earlier in the day. Only problem is she'll pick me up at Sullivan Sq, which means I have to take the T all the way to the end of the line, and get there by 9:15...but I haven't talked to DH and I'd have to leave around 8:15...and that might be too early. Ah well...it's no biggie, it's just that I think my sis wants to see me and I should def make the effort.

How's everyone today?

Mornin' Moe. Good luck on today's run.
Not much on the docket today - water the garden, pull some carpets up, screw the floor boards down - get the guest room ready for recarpeting. Good day to chill out. No exercising for me today, I'm spent after yesterday's run.

I'm definitely going for a nice LR this morning. Just imbibing a little caffeine (cuppa tea) and I will get ready soon. I need to go 8 again this morning. Should be nice since it's rather breezy out there (I have my balcony door open and a window in my BR. The BR door just slammed shut because of it!) It's very overcast though. I don't think it's going to rain, but it's not really pretty! I think it's cool by default. Either way- WOOHOO! It's going to be back to the 90's by mid week, though.

Anywho, Maureen, glad you found a dress solution! Marshalls is a great place when you have something specific you're looking for!

Doc- good to see you hanging around these parts again. Take care of yourself. So is the shoulder all better now?

OK, back to getting ready!

Happy Sunday Gang!

Um. . . no you do not want pics of the man painting my house. Although I may post pics of the house!

Flem & Tim - sounds like it was a good meet/run. Did YOU think to take pics?!

Quiet day here. Looks to be steamy, but the plan is to try out the wetsuit over in the park where the race is and then to bike some. Should be good.

And, hey Duck, those are some braggin' rights!!

HA! I went out for my run....thinking this might not be a good idea. I'll go short. Just a half mile, to see how I feel. I ended up stopping to chat with neighbors a couple of times, so I ended up running more (love those little breaks.) I got done thinking I'd run about 1.3-1.5. When I mapped it, it was just shy of 2! Excellent. I might have gone longer actually, but 1) I didn't want to push it and 2) my legs are a little tired from walking 12 yesterday.

Now I'm eating leftover quesadilla...is that weird? I love leftover lunch for breakfast!

Have a good run, Beth!
