Hoo boy. I'm really behind on the happenings in LIT land. Apparently, I haven't checked in since last Tuesday...OY!

So to recap my last week:

Wednesday: 1100 m in the pool. My 2nd to the last swim of the season. I have a tri coming up this weekend but my gym is closed for annual maintenance so I'm expecting a sucktastic swim this weekend.

Thursday: 3.2 miles of intervals. I was halfway through my workout when the marching band and flag corp came out to practice so I packed it in early due to a lot of activity on and around the football field. The other track had a scrimmage going on.

Friday: I was supposed to get up early to get a ride in before flying to AR to visit my sister but it never happened. I did dream I had a wonderful ride through the desert so that's got to count for something, right?

Saturday: Ran a XC 5K in my sister's town to kick off their Labor Day Clothesline Fair. Took 2nd AG but XC is damn hard! The course was mostly through a grassy meadow and hillier than I expected. BrewDad won his AG and took 3rd OA but both of us ran a lot slower than what we would run on the road. Definitely a learning experience.

Sunday: DOR. My PF flared up post-race so I spent the day chilling and stretching it out.

Monday: 6 mile run on rural AR roads. There are a lot of big, scary, black dogs in the country by my sister's house. The scariest was a black dog that never barked but stealthily crept up on us. Then we flew home.

Today: Shaping up to be a DOR. I was thinking of trying to get a lunch run in but who was I kidding. It's the first day back after a vacation and the first day of first grade for Little BrewDad. I'm going to make special baked "Mommy Mac" and fresh chocolate chip cookies for dinner tonight.
