Sorry about your run Jill, I have runs like that every now and again, and I never see a pattern as to why they show up, but they freak me out. The one thing I notice after totally falling apart on a run--having to walk or whatever--the next day ends up being awesome every time! I'm sure it's just you body's way to making you take it easy. I bet tomorrow you kick some bootie...

Thanks for all the good thoughts, folks. (And the suggestive hugs Brandy and Solar. Rowl!)

It's an external echo, Winter. No prep...I just go in, they bang soundwaves off my ticker, and I get results in a week.

(though it was some guy when J had her echo a few months ago)

Yeah, already had that with the EKG. No fun. At least the cute nurse was apologetic.

Hi all. I had 4 planned today, but didn't manage it yet. I got a horrible nights sleep last night. I will try to get the run in after work if I have enough energy. If not then I will just move it to tomorrow. One way or the other I will get all my miles in this week.

Vibes for Roo's dad.

Kris - I hope the results come back good and there is nothing serious going on.

Jill - I think you had one of those runs that Frankie refers to as being craptastic. For no reason at all, it just sux.

6 mile tempo for me today with a total ET of 45:16 - I felt pretty good.
mile 0-1 ~8:15 pace (too fast for a warm up)
miles 1-5 ~ 7:11 pace (not sure if this is right...I didn't feel that fast)
mile 5-6 ~8:10 pace (too fast for a cool down and it felt like an easier pace than that).
I think gmaps is off or something.

Well, I'm with Jill. That run pretty much sucked.

What should have been an ordinary, easy 5 miler in 60* weather in January (!), forced these observations/thoughts/mini-rants:

1. MY LEGS SUCK THIS WEEK.
2. I had to rescue the cutest little dog. About a .5 mile from home I noticed a puppy off leash. Asked the guy walking with his kids if it was theirs, as I scoop him up just before he runs into the street. Not his. Not the people's whose house was right there. Asked the dad to call the number on the tag, he left them a message and then we practically had to beg the woman in the house if we could keep the dog there till the family could pick it up. Luckily, the daughter came out of the house and said she recognized the pup as her friend's...
3. People don't know how to share the sidewalk
4. I forgot to stop/start my stupid watch when the dog incident happened, so I have no idea what pace/time I just ran
5. MY LEGS SUCK THIS WEEK.

on the other hand, I did think, toward the end, how lucky I am to be able to get out and run at all...

Evening, folks. I just got back from the Y. I planned on doing some easy lifting and then hitting the TM for a few miles. But when I got there, I realized that I forgot to pack any running shoes. All I had were an old crummy pair of sneakers. Perfectly good for lifting, but I didn't like the idea of running in them. I'm sure I could've gotten away with it, but I decided to play it safe with my feet, and I skipped the run. I just did a harder lifting workout instead.

But yet again, here's a missed run for me. I've had a lot of those lately. It's been quite a while since I've had a week with 5 runs...
