I'm in the middle of the most difficult remodel I have ever been on, and one of the other subcontractors found an item in the specs requiring the use of 3D collision CADware in order to prevent problems in the field. This project was supposed to happen 4-5 years ago, but the events in NY caused budgets to be reallocated. From what we were told, they design firm was working on the prints for the past 4 years, but this spec was never followed. Now, they expect this to be implemented, in the middle of construction. I would think this would be something that would have been done long before shovel hit the ground. Am I wrong in this?

Down around Crested Butte they're up to 160 inches for the season so far. We had "thundersnow" here in Denver last night. This stuff was like NOTHING I've ever heard before. I spent time in Texas, and spent days under some wicked storms. The kind that you thought would go up in flame from the lightning strikes happening around the house. But this stuff scared the SHIT out of everyone in the neighborhood! Bright red flash, followed immediately by the loudest explosion I've ever heard in my life. We thought the gas station down the block had blown up! This happened 2-3 more times, and people started calling 911. Truly one of th weirdest storms I've been through.
But I can understand about the need to run. Your body starts getting antsy. The only thing I can do in that case is to run.

Exactly my point, Willa. I stirred things up the past few days, and the project managers for the electrical, plumbing and HVAC are meeting with the GC next week to tackle this lack of foresight on someone else's part. Made me happy and took alot of stress off of me.

Thanks, Willa. Its good to hear backup for ones positions.

No. This is just the latest in a long line of f-ups. The demolitoin crew is 3 months behind schedule (we're 5 months into the job), they kept hitting underground conduits that we've had to fix, some submittals for the project still aren't approved, other contractors doing layouts measuring from walls, not gridlines, so they're screwed up. And to top it off, its an active prison, so we have to have escorts anywhere outside of the build-out areas (I'm the electrical, I'm everywhere:roll_eyes, and the guy that reps the prison is the biggest jackass I've ever seen. He's worse than you would imagine the guards would be. I'll be glad when this nightmare is over.

Its tough being the 3rd party. You have a clearer view of whats going on, and can see things coming. The big problem is getting the affected parties to listen. At least he has the police and attorney behind him. That will go a long way if the fur starts to fly.
