I'm sorry - that totally blows, JB. I hope it's not as serious as it sounds. I know exactly how you feel getting so far with PT and then having something totally ridiculous happen. I fell x/c skiing two days before xmas and my knee is still messed up. It happened right after I'd started running again after weeks of PT for my hip. Are you going to get it checked out? Take care.

Can someone tell me how I can stop getting those emails from some Canadian pharmacy about how to "enhance my manhood" and "keep her happy all night long", etc. It's driving me crazy!!!! I block the sender each time I get one but I get at least 5 a day from different addresses.

Did you find one online? I have gotten stuff from PerformBetter.com and they are really good. My PT suggested I get some stuff from there.

Have you looked into going to PT, Abb? It might be worth a try to see what's causing your PF and ITBS.

Marianne - that is so cute!! I've been cleaning off and on all day and I feel like it will never be done. I'm sorry about your ds and the Nintendo. We don't have any video games for our kids for just that reason. I especially dislike the DS because they can carry it around and use it. They get to play on the computer a bit but that's it. Can you set a time limit per day for him?

Good luck getting yours done!

I didn't have any problems until I started running more - about 30mpw. I was also biking a lot and swimming when my PF hit me over a year ago but it was the impact of running that was hurting me. The more you run the more little things that didn't have any effect before will start to cause problems. You could have a misalignment in your hips or unequal strength in your legs or a million other things that could cause problems. When I started PT for my hip/hamstring issue I had no idea of the strength difference in my legs or that I was so out of alignment in my hips. My PT had me do a few simple tests and the difference was impossible to miss in my leg strength. One leg was so much stronger than the other and on top of that my hip was out of whack. Someone who is not getting injured might not have any alignment or other issues or they do lots of stuff to prevent injuries. Or maybe you just need to take more rest days it's hard to say. I'm just thinking it might be worth a consult with a PT to rule stuff out before you get back to your running mileage. I went to an ortho dr, a podiatrist, a chiro and then finally the PT guy who was able to help me. I hope you get it all fixed soon!

We're supposed to get another snow storm tonight and stuff is already being canceled for tomorrow. This will be one of those winters that our kids will talk about to their kids. They'll say, "back when we were kids we used to get TONS of snow!" like dh and I do! And they will also talk about how awesome my dh is for building them igloos and sled runs and ice rinks, etc. He's so good at that stuff!

Got 6mi done on the TM and some PT exercises. Ds was home from school again and he was very good about letting me spend some time on the TM. My arch is a bit sore but not too bad - did some PF exercises and stretching for that. My stupid knee that I twisted x/c skiing is fuckity today and I know it's from that run on Sat when it was so slippery - I have to do my exercises for the knee later, too.

Pam - sorry to hear that you are injured!

((Hippo)) sorry about the knee. Congrats on your 50th marathon and thanks for checking in with us. We missed you!

Gaela - what a bummer about the roof. Sounds like you have it under control, though. Is there a big bright blue piece of plastic over it? I'll be over in a bit for some mandarin pasta - that sounds so yummy!!

Jeans - were you looking for a new hair style? Did you find one?

JB - it is a bummer to have new shoes heading your way and be sidelined. I'm glad that you have an appt lined up and hope that you are back on track SOON!

MarkieMark - good to see you!

Marianne - have fun at work!!

Hi Monika, Ky, MyKemp - that is who I can see right now. Have a good afternoon everyone!

Will more rest reduce the inflammation, too? Or ibuprofen and rest? I'd be really hesitant to get a cortisone shot but that's the way I am. My Mom was close to getting a cortisone shot in her foot for PF but decided against it and just the thought of it totally freaked me out! Will the cortisone shot last for a certain period of time?

A paper calendar that RW sent me when I renewed my subscription. I've never been interested in online logging - just seems easier to write it down. I don't log my HR or anything like that - I keep it simple.

I just keep track of when I buy them and estimate the mileage. I can also tell by how they feel/look. I'm just not into too much info - I keep track of my mileage and PT exercises but too much analyzing of my runs doesn't interest me.

Jeans - you look beautiful! I love the haircut

USM - that picture is a classic! awesome! thanks for sharing it with us.

Hi Chosha and Jen!

There was such a huge turnout here that people waited in line for 4+hrs. Many were just signing up so there were many more people than were registered and they ran out of stuff. The # of people that showed up compared to any other time was ginormous and they simply weren't expecting it. (I live in New England)
