Good afternoon! I am beat! I think I'm going to relax with dd4 for a bit since the boys are at football. Then maybe we will go for a walk.

I'm back to trying to eat well again -for the past two weeks my eating has been h.o.r.r.i.b.l.e.

How the heck can it be August 19 already???? This summer has FLOWN!! DS starts school next Wednesday and dd4 starts pre-k the following week. I'm in serious denial about this!

((((((((((Heather)))))))))) I am so sorry about your test results. I've been hoping you would hear good news. Hang in there - I know you are a strong person. Please check in when you can. I will keep on praying for you.

Andrea ~ I remember you from coolrunning! Glad you found us! COme back and fill us in and what's been happening with you.

Alemma ~ My husband has that PSX or whatever it is. He loved it. I haven't even touched it yet. I keep saying I will, but I'm lazy like that.

good afternoon!! I swam 1560 today. Nicole-I need to know the exact distance we are swimming so that I can get a rough time in my head. I was so slow today, I would start down the pool and the person in the lane next to me would be down and halfway back before I reached the end. Today was my LSS (Long slow swim) I was gonna run a tempo too but it got shuffled to tomorrow, easier kid-wise.

((((heather)))) sorry the results aren't what you hoped for But good luck with the more aggressive treatments.

Andrea!!! Did you pop back before and then find out you were pregnant? if so, how's the little bean? If that wasn't you, ooops LOL

Alemma-the px90 stuff is sweet. I tried to burn a couple of Rmomma's but couldn't so I used my camcorder to record them-poor poor quality and now I'm putting those on dvd. Lots of work but great for those days you need to bust ass

Running Momma-Jen and I were talking about you and the PH. We are so hoping that firstly (is that a word?) you are ok and secondly that we get to meet you and hangout at the race.

Sisu-I had a gait analysis and the correction that was suggested to me caused me new pain. I'm not saying it's the wrong thing to do but if I do it, it will be done very slow over a very long time.

heya marianne!! the eating thing here is an ongoing battle too. I already had 3 oreos, and to top it off they were stale I'll have to come up with a good dinner. I get kinda freaked when I don't have a run to offset my caloric intake...swimming doesn't seem to burn enough calories, well my swimming doesn't

I just entered the food that I've eaten so far into daily plate and discovered that just ONE dunking donut hole has 66 calories. I ate 3 and I thought I was doing well until I saw that! LOL Our old neighbor got them for my kids, and of course I couldn't resist. I was impressed that i was able to stop at 3 though.

I'm sure your swimming makes a nice dent in your caloric intake. I'm the same way on a running rest day, though - if I'm using daily plate and can see that I don't have many calories I have left for the day around late afternoon, I'll try to fit something in for exersise to give myself more calories!!

My chiro thinks that part of the injury thing for me is the way I run. I land on my heels a lot even though I've really been working on not doing that. I totally get what he's saying and he's suggesting that I don't make any changes until after my long distance stuff is over for this year and that I should start very slowly, too. He is a fan of Newton running shoes which kinda force you to run more on your midfoot but I'm not willing to shell out $175 for a pair of running shoes when I don't even know will work for me. I'm just so confused about it all. It makes sense but is it worth it to try to change? I'm an old lady and set in my ways!! I do have to say that I was able to crank up my pace a lot when I really worked on what he was showing us last night. It would be good for a 5k but not for a HM or M!

Nice job on your swim! When is your tri or is it an aquathon or something like that? I'm sure you will do great on the swim! Is it in the ocean? Lake? If you want to wear a wetsuit I have one you can borrow - helps you to float and then you will be super fast!!

Sisu- I changed my gait. I went to a PT who did a slow motion video gait analysis and he determined I was a heel striker and hyper extended my knees a lot. It took a bit of work and I slowed down at first (now I'm back to my normal pace). I found it to be a big help, my feet, knees, and shins feel so much better. I think I changed it too fast so now my achilles are really tight and bothering me a little bit- evidently that's a common complaint of changing from a heel striker.

Myron- you're fast. I'm glad you had a great run this morning. I can't wait to see you BQ! Are you still running wineglass this year?

All my eggs are in the basket labeled Richmond - so no Wineglass this year.

Jen Jen... I want to reeval my gait. I'll probably do it with a camcorder, but I am pretty sure I finally got to mid-forefoot strike. Def much better. I even switched back to heel strike during my LSD this weekend to kinda feel the difference. It was amazing. I can't believe I tortured my body for that long.

damn! my post to you susan just got f*cked up! Bottom line, I think I want to wear a wetsuit. How are they sized? I'm short are they heavy? would shipping be a nightmare? if so maybe you could hand deliver it

Also Ty had the Newton shoes so she could prob tell you more about them

the vacuum worked..the garbage disposal is fixed!!

I am done for the day!! I want to sit and not get up!!

Dropped ds off at work and took ds#3 to Barnes and Noble and treated us both to a new book! We deserve it!!

Now I need to think about supper!

Sisu- sorry to hear about your garbage disposal issue- it sounds like something I would do. How many kids do you have this week?

Ty- the PT Gaela and I saw does gait evaluations online- you email him a video of you running and he'll critique it. You probably know a ton anyways so I'm not sure if that would be helpful.

My kids were horrible today and Gaela's poor boys had to witness it all. Lots of bickering.

Just popping in really quick. Having kinda pissy day. Haven't gotten to do ANYTHING since my 10 miler on Sat. DH is still being an ass and I have been on the phone constantly w/ insurance, dr. offices, counselors, state agencies..... not to mention the bird incident which took all morning and some of the afternoon to resolve yesterday. BUT I am swimming tomorrow AM and running tomorrow night.

Hope all is well w/ everyone! Thanks for the vent!

Jen - I so can not believe this. I think the girls can tell I am at my wits end. They just WILLINGLY unloaded and then loaded the dishwasher. Normally this wouldn't be THAT big of a deal (somewhat expected of them) but they did it TOGETHER and DIDN'T BICKER!!! I couldn't believe it! It seriously has made my day!!! LOL!

breathe in and out Nicole!! Michael said he's def in to cheer us on for Naylor's!! He's excited to see you again so what's the swimming distance again? I know it's 1.5k but what's that in yds/meters??
