Did I catch that correctly that you peed on that new GURU!!!!!!!!!!!

But seriously great job on the PR. I think now that you can train again, you will have a great winter and be able to get ready for CdA. Get a chance to build up that run base for the marathon but probably more important the bike base. WI is good training for that, and we should do some riding together so I can really put some hurt into you

Great job!

I wasn't thinking, I was already behind on the hydration that the nutrition slipped on the run. I've had this issue before. Only on my long runs do I nail it, but never on my races. Dammit. I'll get it.

Yes, I peed on my new girl She got washed too!

Thanks, and I'm already looked at a couple 13.1's over the winter because the run base is absolutely what I need. And I totally want to ride together, I need someone to chase. Most of my local buds are either too slow or too wussy about the cold!

LOL

Pool water during swim meets doesn't count as hydration....

Gulf/Sea water DEFINITELY doesn't count as hydration....

Lake water doesn't either.

It just doesn't count.

Awesome job on the PR, even with a PW in the swim. How was the new bike? (Sorry if you mentioned it in the RR.)

Next year, let's do it next year... It'll be my final full. Next year, let's do next year.

New bike was great. I LOVE LOVE LOVE her. She's going to launch me into the 22-23mph range for 56 mile rides in a year or so and I'm hoping a sub5 century not too far in the future.

Thanks Yosh, it's been a LONG journey and it's so nice to finally see some reward. And most importantly, I now SEE a path ahead of me with some much faster running. I'm doing 9-10min miles on the track with z3 HR so I see being able to translate that to a 13.1 or beyond. 2 years ago when I began this nonesense I was certain without a big change, I would be stuck at 12-13min miles. Now the future is again open to me.

Sometimes you have to step back to step forward. I just didn't realize that I needed to take 10 steps forward... but now I can step 100 forward

Ronbo, Ronbo, Ronbo...

First of all, an absolutely solid race. Congratulations, you deserve it man. Long time coming and you've worked for this one man. Loved the race report, I've gotten lazy in writing mine, glad to see that someone is still up for writing a novel.

Now its time for some tough love.

The nutrition issues, that's been covered enough and you've been beat up enough so I'll leave that alone.

You spent wayyyyy too much time pre-race on your feet. That's burning energy you need for racing. Yes, things don't always go smoothly, but you need to spend as much time relaxing in the days prior to a race as possible. Get things setup and then get off your feet man! I got tired just reading this part of the race report.

Peeing on your bike? Really? Really!? Maybe if you're gunning for a top 5 slot. Other than that, take the 45 sec penalty.

That's really all I can think to give you crap about. You've got some work ahead of you on the run if you're going to get through the full in the type of times I think you will want to do. The full is a whole nother beast. You'll feel worse at mile 18 of the full than you ever thought possible. But you've got the willpower and a good coach to guide you and you'll be fine. Just work your ass of this winter. Because June is going to come faster than you expect.

Good job man!

Mike

Ron - Excellent report! You have overcome so much over the years and to come back after your surgery and get a 24 min PR is absolutely amazing. You are an inspiration to all.

Congratulation!

Hold it.

You went to Cedar Point and there's no roller coaster report!?!?

Well done, dude. And I had no idea about the weight loss. Ho. Lee. Crap.

This is a report I've been waiting to read - yeah, things are still a work in progress, but you're building up those proverbial blocks slowly but surely. 2011 oughta' be one heck of a year for you the way things are going - big time congrats, Ron!

And yeah, I'm actually thinking about Rev3 there as well for next year. It's around my birthday, and if a change of zip code happens for me like I'm aiming to do, it'll be a pretty convenient race to get to all things considering.
