Well - to be fair, compared to the statuesque Theia, I'm a wee little lad that she could put over her knee. In fact I was hoping that the next time Theia and I meet, I could be the one sitting on her lap with my pants around my ankles (there IS indeed a story there!)

PC - Sorry the PR didn't pan out as planned. Nice to finally meet you in person. And I'll agree with Beaker & Theia that you are taller than people claim, but that hat really does mess up your hair.

Dude,

Great report. Big races tend to zap an awful lot of energy from the race day effort. Working through the runners, hanging out with friends and family, the excitement of being in a city like NY, Boston, or chicago make it harder to stay relaxed rested and focused. Plenty of faster races for you.....for sure.

your pal,

Chris, sorry you did not have the type of race you wished for on this day.

Thank you for being such a great marathoner -- as athlete, coach, supporter, and fan.

I really enjoy and learn from the insight you bring in your reports. I've learned a lot from you.

Onwards to Boston!

You are still my hero (along with the lovely Maria) regardless of the fact that you didn't get the time you anticipated this race. You run a crazy number of marathons per year and there will be one's that meet your expectations, one's that beat your expectations and one's that don't quite make it.

You rock and I'm so bummed that I didn't get to finally meet you this weekend like I had planned. A little birdie told me you were even hotter in person....

Damn Pacer you got to meet Theia before I did, you bastud

The flashing of the guns at mile 17 did cause quite a ruckus on First Avenue. There was absolutely zero cheering - it was eerily quiet and you could hear a pin drop. When I popped that bicep out, the crowds erupted and I heard that they kept it up all the way throughout the remainder of the race!

Seriously - thanks to everyone for the kind and flattering words. I'm still bummed, but them's the breaks sometimes. The cool thing throughout the run (and at Boston and Twin Cities, and any other tough run) is that with these boards, you have virtual fans cheering you on so that's a good motivation to keep it rolling. And sometimes those virtual fans take time out to actually watch you race, or race alongside you, or simply take the time to show an interest by reading your RR and responding to it - and that's pretty damn cool. So thanks for that. And I will REALLY give you a whopper of a race at some point in the not too distant future!

PC-
Sorry about your disappointment in your time, however, there will be more marathons....
and...
You rock !
There for a while I thought you were Superman, (and yes, I saw the TCM pic and still thought that ) pacing even at TC and then turning around and pacing the next weekend!
I now know you are human, barely, but still you ROCK!

Your standards for your running are way beyond me, PC. It is tough to put it all together on any given day. And given the amount that you run pacing gigs, I imagine you would be better rested if you took a break. Professionals don't run as many races as you!
