Yeah, that was some game. It'll be interesting to see what Favre decides to do now. How many times do you think he'll retire during this off season?

Morning all. First cup o coffee going in.

Ugh. If Favre starts crying and waffling, and waffling and crying, I'm gonna gouge my eyeballs out with a spork...

Not a whole lotta fun here. It's Monday and I'm back at work. I've taken a bunch of days off over the last couple weeks, but I feel like I haven't had a day off in a month. I need a vacation...

Not sure that he will this time...what will be interesting will be to see if the Vikings make him participate in the off-season program and actually attend training camp. I could see that being a bit of a hurdle.

Me likey!

Need to prep class that's in 1:45. Oops.

I love how I don't have to watch football anymore; I just read FB status updates and I get the same information in a fraction of the time. Still, I'm hosting the Super Bowl, so I guess I'll watch that game.

Wow, you're hosting the game? I thought it was in Miami this year!

G'morning all - yeah, what a game; too bad I wasn't able to watch it. I was just about to see Favre after his ankle injury take the field again, when - poof! The power cut out on me.

Turns out the outage was almost four hours long. It's never good when the radio reports keep saying the utility company doesn't know what the heck caused the blackout.

As far as post-season Favre - I think I might take you up on your spork offer boB if we get waffle city with him

Katholeenie - that cake looks delish

Alrighty, good Mondays (if that's possible) to you all

Morning!

I was glad that the Saints won, but sad that the Jets lost. I think that losing Shonn Greene made the all the difference in their second half.

warning - sports mom update ahead

We had an emotional hockey weekend. Our team went undefeated in the round-robin, but due to an interesting formula applied to goals for and goals against, we ended up as the second seed. Which placed us in the Semis against the only other US team in the tournament...our local rivals!
But what a game it was! We scored first and the crowd just went nuts. They tied it up in the second and we battled back and forth during the 3rd. My Jake actually scored a goal in the third, but the refs waved it off, claiming a crease violation by one of our other players. It went into 2 over time periods, first 4 minutes of 4-4 and then 3 minutes of 3-3, then the shootout. Which we lost. It was a heartbreaking game, you hate to see it come down to that, but what a tremendous game it was - hard to complain about that.
Jake played one of his best games ever. He was so into it. When coming off the bench for the faceoff, he would turn to us and whoop his arms in the air to get the cheers going. Choked me up every time. God, I love that kid.

It's going to be a tight fit in my living room, but I'm willing to sacrifice to fit a bunch of fit, youngish men in my house. (I'll have to exclude most of the O- and D-Lines. Those guys are much less fit and won't fit with all the running backs, ends, receivers, quarterbacks and safeties.)

mmm...cake and fruit and whipped cream and all sorts of goodies in here!

It's a beautiful day today, mildish and sunny. I'd like to get out for a run later as long as I have the energy. Only had about 2 hours sleep last night so it'll come down to nap vs. run. Maybe I can manage both!

We're still working on having Lena potty trained. It's coming along, but she still has issues about doing poopies on the potty. She'll hold it in and hold it in, not sure why. If anyone has any words of advice, I'd love to hear them.

Don't let her poop behind the couch.

Not kidding. Flashbacks from my one nephew. (not Sisterleenie's boys)

Clare - I know that's not unusual, if that helps at all. But unfortunately, I have no advice for you. Both my kids PT'd very easily, thanks to my amazing babysitter!

We used to give Jake "buckeyes" - stickers for him to put on his hockey helmet like the college fb players have - when he was successful on the potty. He'd come out of the bathroom yelling Buckeye!
