<p>Got in about 3.5 miles of hiking yesterday in a new pair of boots. I went to a local outfitters and got advice on what I should get, rather than just take my chances at Dick's Sporting Goods or something. They weren't the cheapest, but they are waterproof, very comfortable, and have nice ankle support. </p>

<p><strong>KP-</strong> yes, it's a nice little shop and I am starting to be more conscientious of supporting small businesses like that. I checked out the price of my boots online and it was the same as what I'd have paid at REI. I just wish I'd remembered that I had a discount card, I'd have saved 10%. </p>
