OMG, I've got pasta up my nose... seriously, this was the most hilarious RR I've read in a long time.

Question, in the photo of you with dove and labduck, how come you're holding back like not wanting to touch her? She's really very very nice, you know...

I'm not sure what to think after reading this report. I used to know that I wanted to run one of these relays. Now I know that I'll only run one with Ribs. I want to document it from the other side.

I started reading this on the sly during a seminar, and had to stop quickly before my snorts and guffaws woke up the rest of the audience.

But seriously, what a great accomplishment for you barely a year after heart surgery. Congratulations, and I bet you do another one. Just not in my van, please.

Hey Ribs, the next you do HTC, bring a jar of Ragu. That Prego stuff is bad.

I'm glad enough people pressured you to do a Race Report. I know you really didn't want to. We're all laughing ... as I'm sure you will when you think back on this in about 25 years.

Looks like Ribs stole Quix's clothes too!!

Funniest RR in ages.
I'd like to hear his teammates' side of it.

Two Lake Grapevine Runners Teams: RAWhide & RAWseek
(I tried to insert a pic of both teams, but not sure if it loaded, if not it is on my profile under the HTC album - ps, Tammy, I am in the front row next to Ribs in this pix, that was as close as I got to him the entire trip, lol)

As a Veteran of 3 H2C Relays, I knew what to expect as far as sharing a room with Van-mates, the Gourmet Cusine, and being confined in the Van with your Team for several days. As a 3 year Vet, you have the knowledge and also some privileges. So. my first Vet request was to pick the other 5 people in my Van. Knowing that we would be confined in the Van, and what little time we would spend in the hotel our Van mates would share a room, I obviously requested 3 Hot, Fast, Women in my Van. Next, I requested a Guy that wanted to drive all the time, and another rooking guy that said he would run the tough uphill legs (leg 5) to be in my Van. Having known Ribs for quite some time, and knowing that this relay 'lifestyle' would not exacly be his cup of tea, let's just say that I requested that he not only not be in my Van, but not even on my Team, LOL.

I will leave the actual race reporting in Ribs capable hands ... This was my 3rd H2C (2006, 2007, 2009) and the 1st time our club got in 2 teams. I ran the downill leg from the ski lodge this year, Leg 1, and have been fortunate to be the first runner #1, and last runner #12, as well as Runner #2 in my 3 years.

In conclusion, I am very happy and fortunate to have a good friend like Ribs, he is the absolute best... but I think I will stick to my Van mates and let you all recruit him for your relay team. I think I heard there is a relay in Scottsdale that runs half a mile from the 4 Seasons to the Ritz Carlton in a limo with a chef and a concierge that is the next relay on his calendar.

(snork!)

Now the other people in my office are wondering why I'm laughing out loud at my desk......Excellent report, Ribs!

You are the King of RRs, Ribs -- we all bow before you! Regardless of the gory details, it sounds like so much fun that most of us here would probably like to do one of these someday.

I skipped all that running and eating stuff...blah, blah, blah...but wondered if you thought it was as good as "The Girl with the Dragon Tattoo"?

(Fun read. )

As requested, here is the view from a crummy teammate, van captain who specifically warned Spareribs about therapists. I would have responded sooner but I foolishly used Spareribs as my reference when signing up for Kickrunners. The FBI interviews ended only yesterday. Should I start with the incessant whining? Food, van seating, misplaced or sweaty stuff, accomodations, service, etc. All quite memorable. Did I mention the constant sarcastic phone updates to The Saint? Ours was the only van with just one female, my clueless daughter from DC, as all the other women knew better. All in all, the experience was an absolute hoot. As you can imagine, we were in stitches much of the time. Next time, if one of you guys want my spot in the van, take it.....PLEASE>
