mostly what it means is that no one else from your alma mater has applied. Except for a generic list that imported from somewhere, other other schools aren't listed because they haven't been added. If it makes you feel better, I've had to add both Boston University and Simmons College to lists. BU? Really? And Simmons is one of only 50 LIS schools in the country, and I was applying for a library job.

For the sake of my sanity, I will accept your explanation. However, there are countless schools there that are just so . . . out there. And THEY are on this list. For example: 
 
Astrakhan State Pedagogical University (Russia);
Bundelkhand Univ. (India);
Central University of Ecuador (I don't know where this one is located);
China University of Political Science;
Dokuz Eylül University (Turkey).... 
 
Really, I could go on and on. I did find that the University of Montana is also missing, so perhaps it's just those states that they'd rather not think about that didn't make it.... <img alt="" src="http://files.kickrunners.com/smilies/sad5.gif" style="width:17px;height:16px;" title="">

It's the last week of summer school for me. I still haven't heard about the other job, so I think it's pretty safe to assume I didn't get it. Oh well. My assignment this week is a little tough. 11 students with 9 adults in the classroom. The staff asks me if I'm coming back the next day when I go to leave. It's kind of a rough crowd.

Good luck with that Becca! How was your birthday? J's b-day was actually a week + ago (7/31) but we were in KC at the time and then the lake so we're celebrating it late. I hadn't ever been to VT before May of this year and absolutely fell in love with it and decided that J&I must go back to experience it together <img alt="" src="http://files.kickrunners.com/smilies/love5.gif" title="">

Well, as I said...if someone from those schools applied for a job whereever you were applying...they would have added them to the list themselves. If it was a multinational company, for instance, there might be a ton of universities in India listed, because a lot of applicants abroad come from there.
 
Even if it's a state level government job, it wouldn't surprise me if there were lots of non-US universities listed. Think about who are the lower or mid level staff many places now.
 
*(I'm only interested in this because this relates to taxonomies and thesauri and other information related stuff. Sorta library geek-girl fun.)

<img alt="" src="http://files.kickrunners.com/smilies/lol.gif" style="width:15px;height:15px;" title=""> There are the hardcore masochists (30K - 40K) that still go weekly. Used to be a big fan but when they bolted to SoCal, the slow fade started from there.
 
However, I'm sick of seeing them lose, and the thing is everything has been relatively...uh, sane this year. Pretty decent draft, no camp drama, not much babble from Al Davis. Not saying this team is a playoff team, but they could surprise some folks

I got a sense this off-season that he actually might be figuring that at least a few of the many valid criticisms have some truth to them. 
 
But I also think he's still too stubborn to totally keep his hands off the team...so yeah, death or some other severe incapacitation is probably the best thing in terms of long-term team outlook.

Who knows when that'll be. Yeah, he basically seems like a skeleton now. But his mom lived to be 103. So he might have some lengevity genes...

OK, so Goon came through her surgery this morning fine, she got home, sent me a chatty email and was all good until about 6 p.m. when she started feeling a lot of pain and a weird popping sound. She called the nurseline and they told her something scary about how they might have nicked a LUNG for goddsakes. WHY do they DO that? Anyway, back to the hospital she went and apparently it was a hematoma and she had to go back into surgery to open it up and drain it and clean all that stuff out. They plan on keeping her overnight, dose her up with antibiotics and keep an eye on her.
 
Get Better Quick vibes would be most welcome!
