Moon - excellent PR. Nice to have an unexpected (?) gift on a 'whim' race.
Beth - I'm with you on the bikes/cameras - I'd think that the exhaust would be bothersome. Never understood the need for the close proximity coverage. Isn't that what zoom is for?
Maples - how far are you going? When do you hit the OH mark?
Some good running going on out there. I'm envious.

boB - I too have had several close calls. I always always assume that the driver is STUPID so I slow down or even stop. I'd rather be able to continue my run and deal with having my stride broken or lose my groove - it's far better than the alternative.

Congtrats to all the racers this weekend!!

Wow Maureen! I cannot even think of doing 11 on the TM. I think it's a mental issue for me. Great job!

Trevor Thanks for the updates!

I ran 11.5 yesterday with my friend who is doing the Richmond marathon next weekend. When I got home I was sick the whole day! WTF? I was thinking I was dehydrated since I had a late game Friday night and then went for an early run Sat. morning. But, DD2 now has the same symptoms I had, so I know it was a bug. Ick! I am feeling much better today.

Take care!
Becca

Sorry to hear that you got sick... but tell your friend Richmond looks to be a good day - I've been watching the 10 day forecast, right now they have the high at 59 - and probably around 35 at the start... seems like great conditions to me. Since Richmond doesn't usually get the high temp until well after noon (probably closer to 1PM).

The IT bands are doing okay, but I've got other tweaky parts which are bordering on becoming chronic issues. This may be my last hard race for awhile - my body's aching (pun kinda' intended) for a break.

phew, back from the park. I struggled today but made it. 54 minutes in the book, somewhere around 4 miles. The trees at the park were absolutely gorgeous, like our 30 somethin wimmins. Shades of orange, red, brown, green. I promise I will get pictures soon of the lake reflecting the colorful treeline. I am in a bit of a hurry at the moment or I would have snapped a few shots today.

Thank you for your interest 2oh. Today was the end of week 9 of ohr. My pace was slower but the goal was just to survive today. I was somewhat winded and thirsty the entire time and that was a bit of a struggle. Not sure what was going on there but as I said the main thing was I didn't quit and succeeded.

I'll check in later. see ya'll.

Looks like we're about to be off to the children's hospital ER, again. DS was playing in the back yard with a friend while friends dad and I worked on the bathroom project. Boys playing together knocked heads and busted out all of DS's stitches. So, back we go.

Later all.
Tim

So, in case anyone cares,

Katie finished in 5:29:58, according to people.com. Bib F127

Also,

I apparently missed Timr's 10K (the week after a marathon?!?!). Nice job! Quick healing vibes to your son.

I also missed Moe's big TM run. That's got to be great for your confidence for Philly!

So, uh, it's not the most impressive hardware. More like a pen. And a gift certificate for a RoadID. But here it is:

Looking forward to the NYC and MN RRs.

The article is taking forever to load.

And, when you look up her number on the race website, it says it doesn't exist. Katie Holmes Super Secret Marathon!

I have to admit a little schadenfreude as far as Katie Holmes goes. Heheh... kicked yer ass I did, little Katie. And I'm old!

Ok. Anyway. Freedom 10 Mile MN peeps meet up was totally awesome. I've got a short RR in my blog, but I gotta say that we 30somethings are a damn good looking group. And BigG and McTortle have good taste in beer, from hoppy to non-hoppy.

Even baggs was suitably abashed... ask him about his medals...

Dom was speedier than he let on he'd be... 9:30s... yeah right.

Brandy was my running buddy for the day, we kicked butt. Thanks Brandy! RunningFromTheLaw finished up the race with us, but didn't wear daisy dukes.

My RL coworker ran the race too, and the 30somethings were all as cool as I thought they'd be (and she's only 20something!).

Apparently, we're such good looking beer snobs that there's already talk of the next 30something meet up....

If you look in the results by place, you can find her. Name, age (30?), splits. Just not by bib...maybe I read it wrong in the pic.

Great job everyone who raced!!!!

Kris! Woohoo!!!!!

Sagey, I was thinking...hah, I run nearly as fast as Katie and I have at least 50lbs on her. So, yeah.
