(((((((Moe)))))))))))

Slept in late this morning despite the cat's best efforts to get me out of bed at the regular time. I have a ton of errands to run today, plus cleaning the house, plus church, and then I'm dealing poker tonight. Somewhere in there (better be pretty soon), I have to get my run in. I'm thinking somewhere between 4-5 miles. But I have to mail something, and I've missed the pick up time of my closest mailbox, so I think I might run a crazy course so I can drop off my mail.

In case anyone missed my late post, thanks for all the good feelings this week. My professional life is not completely in the toilet. Now I need to work on the personal life. . .

Good luck, racers, runners, resters, etc.

Holy moly! My jaw dropped when I saw this. What an excellent gift, and what cool friends!

The skirt looks fab-u though (and you in it)!

Today's run felt terrible. Ended up with 4 miles in ~51. I was debating about running the extra 9 minutes, but my back hurt every time I went up a hill and I was demoralized about how slowly I was running. When I got home and logged the run, I realized that I was actually faster than my 60 minute run last week and my 2 3 mile runs this week. Now I'm pissed I didn't run the extra 9 minutes. I just felt like I was crawling for most of the run that I just wanted to be done. Well, now I am and I'm peeved at myself. However, I tripped early into mile 2 and now my knee is a little twingy, so it's probably good to rest it.

Food, vacuuming, shower, shopping, etc.

Excellent job, man!

I saw this in the theater this summer and really enjoyed it. There's something about Judd Apatow that I love, though I'm afraid that I'll hate Superbad, so I've put off watching it. Loved Freaks & Geeks and had a warm spot for Undeclared. Plus, Seth Rogan is exactly the kind of guy I want to snuggle up with.

Thanks, Jill. It is a bit surreal for me. As I mentioned in a post on Friday night, I've gotten a couple of people at school started on c25k (apparently, running is the only thing I talk about anymore), and one of them called me for advice. It was crazy. I still have moments of doubt (brain needs more exercise) that I'll be able to run the 8k next month, but I am really enjoying myself, even when I'm not.

Speaking of the 8k, can I pretty-please-with-sugar-on-top get an elevation map for that one? I'm taunted by all the hills here, but I know I have a sub-1 hour in me in a less hilly environment.

Congrats Sage & family on an excellent outing and all our other racers this weekend, PR or not!

Gotta walk to school b/c I forgot to bring stuff home. Nice 4 mile round trip (with lots of hills )

Yup, I'm in Squirrel Hill. It's not like I'm running up Mt. Washington (or even Negley -- I don't think I could walk up Negley without stopping), but the hill that really kills me is Wilkins Ave. off of 5th. I.hate.it. Still, after running that hill 3x/wk for the past month, my first hill challenge (in Frick Park) seemed like, well, a walk in the park. /tour of Pittsburgh

You do not know how this warms my heart. Must.register.today.

Don't be embarassed at all. I had to look it up. It appears as if Apollo is about half way between Pittsburgh and Indiana (PA); maybe a bit closer to Indiana. Here's a map. Is that the race you're running on Philly weekend? I remember you mentioning that you would be on the wrong side of the state that weekend. Where did you grow up?

And Cus, did you ever mention what part of the city you are from?

Walked the 2 miles to school, but wimped out and took the bus home. Still, the bus dropped me off about .5 from home so I got to walk a little. Also passed a street party where they were launching water balloons. The weather is perfect for it.

Did I ever tell you how much I love accountability? Just so I wouldn't have to reply "no" to your post, I JUST REGISTERED FOR PHILLY. Good thing I wasn't drunk registering; I couldn't figure out how to get to my account in Active.com. I had to use them to register for my 5k in August, but I couldn't access my account for the life of me. Ah, well. It's done and no going back!

Two mentions in one awesome post. . .I feel like a rock star!

I live on the east side of town, so I've never been running on the west. It still seems weird to me to drive to a run, but hopefully when I'm starting to put in serious miles, I'll have good reason to look up interesting trails around the city.

***PREFONTAINE spoilers for those newbies who don't know the story*****

Well, today was a nice rest. I just finished watching "Prefontaine" with Jared Leto (hello?. . .his eyes are awesome! I'm going to have to get "My So-called Life" just so I can stare at them). Of course I cried and cried. I'd obviously heard of Pre, and I knew the end of the story, but I didn't know enough to know when the end happened. When they spent so much time in Munich, I thought, "Man, they're spending a lot of time here; how are they going to fit another Olympics in?" Then, after the win against the Swedish team I was imagining what the sports announcers were going to say before the race in Montreal. Well, that didn't happen. I was crushed. I really wanted to go for a run, but it was 10:00 and I have to run in the morning. Also, I had no idea that his coach was the co-founder of Nike. I kept wondering what he was doing with all those shoes.

***End movie discussion***

Congrats to all our runners this weekend. And good luck with all our runs this coming week. I'm only going to get two in this week due to more mole removing, but I'm going to do my best to make them fantastic ones!

ETA: I also never made the connection between the ks and a track. Duh! 5,000 meters = 5k. I guess never running on a track will do that to a girl. Hey, I'm still new; I'm learning!

Thanks for the tip, yo! I miss hiking. If I could only find a hiking partner. . .preferably tall, dark, handsome, single, funny, smart, with great abs and a killer smile.
