Morning!

About to leave to drive to the hiking meet up point. I hope it's not a hard hike! My legs are still sore from my almost double (11 mi thurs. night and then 3.5 mi. 8 hours later fri. morning!) Should be a good time, though. And the leaves are turning now, so it will be pretty. Glad it wasn't last weekend!

Anyway,
Good Luck Racers!!! Special good luck to S-age! You're gonna rock it!

Well, I need to finish getting stuff together and get on the road! Have a great weekend everyone.

KrisE and LH- It's not nice to tease a girl like that....

Good morning!

It's a lovely 40* out there and I'm waking up with my coffee before Heather and Theia come pick me up for our 5k. This should be very interesting because there are about 5,000 women running this. I don't know how that many women are going to fit on these trails. I'm not expecting anything huge for my time now that I know that many people will be there.

Otherwise, Brandy and Korbel, I love your new avatars!

Morning!! Outta bed you rascally runners!

I woke to NO coffee in the house. Can you believe I'm making a trip to the store just for that? Don't tell Al Gore.

I'm still a little sickly, but going to go out for a 5 miler. I've been LOVING the weather in the past few days...what a difference a week makes.

QOY--Layers: Yes. I usually wear tights before most people do; my legs are weirdly the coldest thing on me. Just the opposite with gloves, though--Any temp below 40 warrants taking them, but I often use them just to blow my nose, anyway.

(When you guys meet me in Philly that will be a nice mental image, eh?)

Oh, BTW! A woman at work ran TCM; she said days later she went into her doctor because she was so puffy that it looked like she was on steroids. She was diagnosed with hyponatremia (low salt)--but it surprised her that can be a problem days after a marathon; her doc said she was very lucky she wasn't hospitalized. I just thought that was an interesting FYI and cautionary tale... she claims she didn't feel that badly.

Happy running today, everyone! Jill, Theia, Heather--remember that 5ks are suppose to hurt, but at least the pain is short lived!

Sage runs manana. I'm trying to see if I can track our speedy CoachT.
Update: I'm not seeing tracking anywhere on the website...

Winter--re: Kerik's crush. Now, come on. You can't have everyone...you need to share. I like your avatar, btw. DF said, and I quote, "who's that?"

back from a few with Hanker, who apparently is beside himself about the cool temps. Came in after run, checked out his backyard (which he always has to do...maybe it will be gone sometime when we get back) came back GALLOPED around the house and brought duck to me and proceeded to fling him all over the house. heh.
i am now into a post run coffee, yogurt and bowl of grits. but i'm starting to get that cold weather freeze.... gah.

Melis....i totally believe it. i won't tell al gore though. you know he calls me daily... mat will go get coffee for me when i run out. life is better for everyone that way.

Kris E and Litch: I second Beth. I told you all about the gnarly motorcycle guy at my tattoo shop.

Mornin' all!

Go go Sage! Have fun at the 5K, Heather, Jill, and Theia. Do you have a team name? May I suggest "The Three Hotties"?

Good luck to Trev and the other racers I've missed.

Hey, none of you lost a cat, did ya? One adopted us last night. It was sitting on our porch mewling away, and J let in it. So now we have a cat. Which is a problem, since J's allergic, and it's against our lease. It's obviously someone's inside cat that got out (litter-trained, etc) and neither of us could just leave it out there in the world of cars and coyotes, so now we're stuck. We're making signs today -- hopefully someone will recognize it and want their cat back. It's very cute and sweet.

So, yeah, if you come to Tucson, sit on our porch and look pathetic, you'll get a free meal and soon be owning the place!

Melis, remind me not to shake hands with you in Philly if you're wearing gloves...

Off for 4M recovery in some beautiful weather out there (58* and dry).

roo - my girl does exactly the same thing. She can be tired as all get out and still need to make the rounds. So funny.

Jill, Theia, Sage and any others I miss, good luck!

Re: Kris' crush - we can narrow it down ladies so someone that he had some conversations with regarding music when we switched over from CR to here. I remembered that little posting by him because I immediately thought "I cannot remember who he was on CR".

Kris - yeah, but rope can chafe..I guess you could use bodyglide but that seems dirty

So running - I have to do 14 today. I just woke up and it won't be for awhile. I may take the pup to the dog park beforehand. Not sure yet.

Dang... left the comforts of a real fall in the Northeast for hot and steamy Ft. Lauderdale. My friend better be REAL thankful we're down here for his wedding. I got out this morning for 10 miles; it wasn't the worst but there were reminiscent weather conditions of last weekend. Oh well, what can you do. I'm going to continue building up runs and get another 20 miler in by mid-week next or next weekend.

Good luck to everyone racing this weekend!!! I believe we've got the PA girls doing their 5K today, T-Rev ripping it up in CT and Sage making history @the Whistlestop. GO 30s GO!!!

Morning 30s.

I'm up and about. In a little while I have to go meet jensparks, arrojo, drgenie, Notey, VogelMD, and PJGonzales for lunch. jen, vogel and I are doing the full marathon. Notey and Arrojo are doing the 1/2, and drgenie is going to be our biggest fan.

After that it'll probably be a quiet day.

The weather forecast continues to look very favorable for tomorrow. I'm hesitant to post it after what Maria and kerfwango went through in Chi-town last week, but according to www.wunderground.com

8am: Race start. 45 degrees with a 39 degree dew point. Sunny skies and a West wind at 5.

11am: As I near what I hope will be mile 23 or 24: 54 degrees with a 38 degree dew point. Sunny skies and 9 mile an our winds from the West.

morning Peeps

Got to meet the cutie patootie EQ last night! Mandy, gave him a squeeze for you! I ended up being at work later than I wanted and no manner of rushing got me to the North Sta to meet him any earlier than the damn T was gonna take, but he was there and waiting for me. We headed over to the bar and met up with some other peeps, incl Notey and Drgenie, who will be with us in Philly. Good fun!

Might run today if I can...and if I do, I might run again tomw. Can someone tell me where to move my training log? I got notice about the CR/Active transition today and I need to take care of that.

My race photos are up from Monday...and I will NOT be posting any. *sigh* Evidently I live in an imaginary world where I'm not so fat, have long legs, and look good in a hat.

QOY4: Well, I like to think my eyes, but now that I wear my glasses most of the time, I don't think it's as common. I dunno...I'm not feeling the love today...you tell me.

Good luck racers today and tomw!!!!

we will not discuss the fact that I just boiled over the cocoa I was making, thereby cutting my delicious chocolately goodness by a third, and necessitating immediate cleaning procedures be done to the stove top, burners and pan.

grrrrrr

nothing here to see, move it along.

Oh yeah, forgot to mention:

mandaroo You're transitive property of hugs is intact. I gave Auntie Moe a hug and she gave me one.

And for those who've never met Auntie Moe, she's very cool!

(((((((Moe)))))))))))

Slept in late this morning despite the cat's best efforts to get me out of bed at the regular time. I have a ton of errands to run today, plus cleaning the house, plus church, and then I'm dealing poker tonight. Somewhere in there (better be pretty soon), I have to get my run in. I'm thinking somewhere between 4-5 miles. But I have to mail something, and I've missed the pick up time of my closest mailbox, so I think I might run a crazy course so I can drop off my mail.

In case anyone missed my late post, thanks for all the good feelings this week. My professional life is not completely in the toilet. Now I need to work on the personal life. . .

Good luck, racers, runners, resters, etc.

good luck to our Saturday racers!!!

I just needed to jump on and report that the bride gave me a bridesmaid gift this morning...a freakin' garmin 305!!!

I'm both overwhelmed by the generosity AND the fact that they thought about me as a runner...

Have a good day all!
