Lee - It sounds like you had a nice day with the girls. Have fun at soccer.

Heather - a nap sounds nice. I can't wait to go to bed later!

We just came back from grocery shopping.. They were out of some of my favourite things.. I take it it's not the best idea to do grocery shopping on Sunday.. We have to get back to mid week shopping... that was the best...

Hi everyone-

Congrats to the racers this weekend! You all did great!

I'm officially a pool runner and let me tell you, it's boring. I also swam some laps and that felt great and I felt like I hadn't missed a beat when it comes to swimming laps. I was surprised what a good workout I got pool running and I'm headed back there tomorrow to do it again. When i was swimming with my dd after my workout I attempted to do the breaststroke and when I did that frog kick thingy I got a sharp pain in the medial meniscus area of my knee. that's not good.

Time to hang out with the kids before bed. have a good night everyone.

Sisu, I hear you about pool running being boring... Just to give you some feedback, I have no knee issues or pain but when I do the froggy thingy from the breaststroke, I always feel a twinge on my knee... Maybe I just have no strength, but that doesn't agree with my knee either.

Thanks, Ty. I've done the b-stroke a lot and have never had this sharp pain before - I knew right away what it was. It was OK when I did the flutter kick on the crawl so I'll stick with that and running. Here is my question for you about pool running - are you supposed to bend and extend your legs like you are running or can you keep them kind of bent the whole time? When I tried to extend my leg out a bit to mimic real running it kinda hurt so I kept my legs bent the whole time after that. It just felt weird and I'm sure it looks odd, too!

Sisu... I don't have enough knowledge to make a call on this one, but full knee extension isn't usually a very good thing because you could get close to the locked knee position. I always did keeping it kinda bent, but with a slight extension to mimic the running. I am assuming your feet are not touching the bottom of the pool at all, right?

Okay... we were just watching AFV which brought about a lamentation for the demise of the $1.50 matinee's we used to go to when we were younger. I used to go to the movies with one of my friends and spend all day watching movies. Can't do that anymore.
