Don't MAKE me come down there, Johnny!

But I thought the same thing when I read that too....

Wow, so glad you are OK. Take it easy and I guess I'll get to meet you in Eugene. Why couldn't they have picked a slow lousy run day to run you down??

I almost got hit by a car turning into a church parking lot (what is it with those people??) a few weeks ago. The kicker was a COP was directing traffic at the driveway, so I thought great, these people will behave and wait for me to finish running across the driveway. And someone didn't and almost nailed me, right in front of the Cop!

Wow, that's scary. I'm glad you're not more banged up than you are! I'm frequently surprised by how little awareness drivers have of pedestrians (runners). Someone once told me I shouldn't be surprised by predictable things...but still, I am.

Once my bicycle-riding husband was hit by a right-turning driver. He wasn't hurt bad and we laugh about it now because the driver was a personal injury lawyer.

Good news to report. MY doc, chiropractor and my pin cushion chick are all in shock on my recovery. They've all given me the green light to run as much as I want, as long as there are no aches and pains. The major contusion is only the size of a quarter, where it was about 4x3 inches. I just have to say, Mobic is a great anti-inflammatory, but good ol natural medicines seem to work for this alternative medicine guy. I especially like my acupuncturist...former college 800 runner...and yes she still has nice legs

Oh, yes, yes!

Oh, wait, that's so self serving of me. Hippocratic oath and all, I feel I must offer some soothing words first. And then my plea for photos!

Seriously, I love church-goers, but they are some mean drivers outta the parking lots. I've been witness to many a runner vs church-goer mishap. Hope you recover quickly.

I'm ashamed to admit I'm one of those who doesn't always look to the right. Well, I do more often now. The problem spot I have is coming out of work, where there is a sidewalk, no real intersection but a very large median with 2 lanes on each side, and I am coming out of our hospital property to get to the crossover before turning left on the other side. I forget that there are often joggers and bicyclists on the sidewalk coming FROM the right, because I am busy trying to just cross the 2 lanes of traffic going TO my right. Does that make sense? There are hardly ever any pedestrians or riders until that one time I am not looking.

Glad it's better than it could have been, WJ! I will try to remember to keep my eyes open in ALL directions.

kelly - i'm curious about this mobic? i've never heard of it before, and I go the route of alternative therapies/medicines before traditional medicine whenever I can. Is this some kind of herbal? is it something you got through your acupuncturist?

Tamster Mobic is actually a pharmaceutical, one of the few that I'd ever take. It's an anti-imflamatory and I think I needed something immediately after the crash. I'll only be taking it for a couple of more days...

......winejunky//......take the Mobic with food or milk.........it works very well......

.........glad you're ok.......

......tammy//......check your Herbals out at ''consumerlab.com''.......make sure they have what they say they have......

............Poison Ivy is All Natural,
but I wouldn't take it......

(sorry, couldn't resist)

no but still a bit hung-over....great meal with friends last night, grilled then baked salmon, a great assortment of cheeses, a semi-soft from northern cali made by two sisters, really an awesome flavor, grilled veggies and pasta with a light cream sauce. Wines that accompanied were St. Hallet Stonewall(04), Eyrie Rsv Pinot(2000), Mt. Veder Cab(2000), Daevdale Pinot(04), and top the night off a stunning Inniskillen Rsv Single Vineyard Vidal(1997). I think I'll dry out the rest of the week.
