I forgot to mention what dd4 has been up to. Earlier today I caught her climbing down from the counter in the bathroom and when I asked her what she was doing, she told me she was putting dh's deoderant back. She said, "Don't worry mom, I used it in the right spot," and lifted up her arm to show me. Oh well, I guess she'll smell good for awhile!

Hi Marianne - When you are done can you come to my house please! My closets need to be done again!

Hi Mark - long time, no see. How is everything going? BTW - I get those e-mails at work every day. It's a PITA!

Abbie - I saw a foam roller at Target the last time I was there. In the fitness section and I think it came with a dvd showing how to use it.

Hi Abbie and Kitty!

I know what is causing this stuff - it's overuse, I'm sure. I did twist my leg a few weeks ago and that is what started the pain. I just don't understand why some of you can run miles around me and not get hurt. I do 35mpw and end up with all of this shit. I don't feel like I am running more than I should. My DH thinks that it's not just the running, but the biking and swimming, too. But MILLIONS of people do WAY MORE than I do, so why is it that I get injured? I am NOT overdoing it!!!! And I refuse to believe that my body was not made for running and biking.

I do need new shoes, so that will help.

I am looking on zombierunner.com and will try performbetter.com as well. Thanks!

Marianne..... How cute about DD

Consider yourself lucky, I'm always reminding my DD13 to put it on!!!! I told her I'm going to start calling her "stinky winky".

Marianne - that is so cute!! I've been cleaning off and on all day and I feel like it will never be done. I'm sorry about your ds and the Nintendo. We don't have any video games for our kids for just that reason. I especially dislike the DS because they can carry it around and use it. They get to play on the computer a bit but that's it. Can you set a time limit per day for him?

Good luck getting yours done!

You know, I got to thinking about this - my PF got worse after I got my new Saucony's. And my knee, too.... I have heard others complain about Saucony's, and now that I have the orthotics, maybe they are not the right shoe for me. I might try Asics this time - I have had good luck with them before.

Good Luck to Nicole's DD!!! Remember, be extra brave so Mommy will buy you a really good reward.

I need some input. My dh is radically changing his eating habits (he does this every now and again). All lowfat, healthy foods and not one iota of junk. He is doing awesome, really. He has very little weight to lose, but he just wants to be healthy and he really does like healthy foods. My problem is that I want to be as supportive as possible, and it would be good for me to eat like he is, but it's so hard to COMPLETELY give up stuff like pizza and chocolate. On the otherhand, if I follow his lead I will be more likely to achieve my weight loss goals. Obviously he is at a point where HE is ready to make the changes to his diet needed to reach his goals, and obviously by the fact that I just ate 2 big bowls of rice krispies loaded with sugar, I am not at the point. SOoooooooooooo...

QOD: If your spouse chose to switch to a diet that was healthy (lots of fresh veggies, lean meats, fruit, etc.) but that eliminated all junk, would you jump right on board to be supportive or would you continue to eat the way you always had?

Marianne, I think I would jump on board, since I knew that it would be good for both of us. The problem with his plan, however, is that he is not allowing ANY bad stuff, which means that he will get burned out and frustrated. When I started eating healthy, I allowed myself certain things in moderation and it saved my sanity.

So, jumping on board is good... but his plan might need a bit of modification to make it realistic for maintaining it for life.
