Jeans' dad always called people who dressed alike "twinkies". You know how peeps will go down to Disney and the entire family (like 20 peeps) will all have the same t-shirt on? Those are twinkies.

Awesome pic Nicole!! I think this is the first pic of you that I've seen!! You and your girls are beautiful!! I love the matching outfits.

Great picture, Nicole! Your girls are beautiful, just like their mommy.

((((((SB)))))))

Lord, will I ever get out of here! I need to be heading to Houston soon, but I have too much crap to do.

I have an Elmo shirt... it's not exactly like my son's Elmo shirt, but close... I wear it sometimes just to hear him say 'Daddy, you got Elmo on your shirt too!'

I guess I'm a "Twinkie"

you know when dh and i retire and have grandchildren I can not imagine what I would rather do with my time (other then still run marathons across the US ) then help my kids out and spend time with my grandchildren..all her and FIL want to do is go to casinos. I have kept my mouth shut for awhile but it just makes me very sad.....last summer she did not go to 1 of ds#2's baseball games not 1..but attended probably half of another grandsons games.

SB, that would piss me off, too. My FIL and Step-MIL are that way - they travel all over the world but never come and see us. Which is okay with me I guess, but Claire hardly knows the other side of her family.

I'm sorry sb70... we have sort of the opposite problem... grandparents "fighting" over keeping DS... but, both DW and I are only children and DS is (at least so far) an only child...

I can't imagine what it would be like to not have support I hope things workout for you, and you're able to enjoy your cruise! Is there a track on the boat?

Thanks Kemp....there is a track and a workout room with treadmils!! We are going with some friends and 2 others besides DH and I are training for spring marathons and halfs so we are bringing our running gear and hoping to get some good runs in!

My mom and dad both do so much for us....so I will be able to go and know they are being taken care of and loved..I just wish it didn't always have to fall on my parents, that dh's could help sometimes too.

We're going to be faced with the same sort of dilema in the fall. DW and I are planning on taking our first trip without DS. (planning on heading to Vegas maybe in time for that little 26.2 mile race they have there, maybe not). Anywhoo... our dilema is that we think it might be a little much for my parents to take care of him 24x7 for 4 days or so... (my parents are older), so we will probably ask DW's parents, but we don't want to hurt my parents feelings... so it's definitely not the same situation your in... sort of the opposite really... I think there might be a way we can split it up a little though.

UGH SB that sucks! I TOTALLY agree with your decision to just have your parents do it because the worst thing that could happen is that you are feeling like your kids are with someone who isn't loving them totally while you are away. Think of it this way: it is HER LOSS. The kids will always be closer to your parents and will look to them in other ways that will warm ther hearts as they get older and will have FAR MORE fond memories of your parents. (((HUGS)))

When do you leave?

Hi!

SISU~~ I'm sorry...your poor DS! I hope those antibiotics kick in right away!

SB~~I would cry too.....she's just mean! Think about how much fun you'll have in spite of her and ask Sisu to share that giant candy bar...

...back to lurking....

NICOLE ~ What a cute picture!!!!!!!!! I love the "twinkie" look you and your girls are sporting!! So cute!

SB ~ That sucks about your MIL!!! I would be upset too. My MIL made it clear that she did not enjoy the toddler stage with any of her grandkids and I thought that was soooo rude!!! She liked to see them, but wasn't thrilled with babysitting. Now that my two are beyond the diaper stage she is much happier to have them. Whatever.

(((SB))) Sorry about the in laws!!! If i were closer, they could stay with me, my kids would love having extra kids around. My ex in laws were the SAME way, my ex husband had an older son from a previous relationship and he practically lived with them, but they hardly ever watched mine. Now of course that we live 3 hrs from them, they call every day, and complain about how they never see them.

Mykemp-that's great that all the grandparents are so involved with DS.

Ky-how's the bday going?
