Nice job on the races this weekend. Some huge PR's. It's pretty inspiring to see the hard work paying off.

Not too much exciting this weekend. Got in 7 on Friday, then 15 and 6. Trying to keep some good mileage before training starts for Grandma's in a few weeks.

morning everyone. I did a tai chi, yoga pilates mix class yesterday at a local studio. It was fun and challenging and made me feel extremely uncoordinated . I am not too sore today but I liked it still. 6 to run tonight - not sure where as it might sleet here and then I am surely not running outside.

Beth - I have a hair band that I wear or a hat.

Howdy folks.

Got an itty bitty 4 in yesterday, but barely made it. Usually if my schedule says 4, I'll actually do 4.50. (with .25 warm up waking and .25 walking cool down.) Not so much yesterday. At 4.0, I had a feeling that my quads were going to fold under me, so I cut my running off at the minimum. Probably a goood thing. I got off the TM, and I had jello legs, worse than I've ever experienced.

Figured they're just being ornery about Saturday's 9.1 mile run.

Got another 4 on tap tonight. The quads / calf muscles are still pretty annoyed at me, but who knows what they'll feel like in 8 hours.

I loved Ratt!!!!!

Um, 8 Saturday and 3.56 yesterday (plus weights both days and a short Spinning class yesterday as well). Spinning and weights tonight, then mile repeats tomorrow morning before work. Don't wanna! But hafta.

I do that, too! I visualize where on my normal routes I'd be at that mileage. It helps for like .02 then I remember I'm on the DM.

Hey all:

Wow! Was that an awesome game last night or what? I watched it on delay just in case there were any wardrobe malfunctions - that way I could go back and watch them again! (OR back to reality, I had to put 2 whiny, still somewhat sick kids to bed.). DD was sick again last night. I can't handle another round of this - it's been going since Tuesday night!

Got a great long run yesterday - 17 miles in 2 hours in the squelchy, squelchy mud. This was a real gut check run. I'm still getting over being sick, and we only got about 4 hours of sleep Sat night, so I really just wanted to mail this one in. But I stuck with it, nice even pace - just at or just over 7 for the whole thing. I was pretty beat afterwards. But that's the first time I've done 2 hours since before I was hurt and I had no lower leg pain at all - so I'm glad for that.

I had a run in with a lady and her dog at about 15 miles. As I was coming up on a parking lot I saw the dog just tearing around the lot (this is a busy lot and a busy trail) and she was leaning against her car. Of course the dog came after me, diving and growling and trying to get behind me. And you know, the thing your *really* want to do most at m 15 is stop and deal with a dog. So I stopped and gave it the 'bad dog! go home!' routine, and it kept circling and growling.

So the woman comes jogging over with a leash and says 'You don't have to yell at him'.

Excuse me? Excuse effin' me! I just unloaded.

Grrr.

5-7 easy tonight.

Nice runs this weekend RFTL, Voodoo and Nettie!

Colleen, I'm with Jill...you've come a long way in the last few months. Nice work.

5 miles on tap later today, if my leg isn't too sore, my achilles is tender this morning after my 10 mile long run yesterday.

Nice job to everyone this weekend - need to go back an read now.

My legs are tired - last week didn't work out for me the way I wanted it to with respect to my training so I had to back-end most of my weekly mileage into Friday-Sunday - 12, 20 and 15 respectively. That's almost as much as JensRuns... Today is a little easier with only eight on the schedule.

The 12 and 20 were both done on the TM - so no complaining about five... I've been a big baby this year about running outside - anything under 30 degrees and I've been staying in so I don't really have a leg to stand on when it comes to complaining.

Well, as much as I'd like them to change the school schedule just for me, if I want to run before work, it's pitch dark and since we don't have great sidewalks (often randomly end around curves, etc...) nor consistent street lamps I can't run outside then. Also, after work, I tutor and often get home right as the sun is going down. Again, that whole darkness thing if I want to do more than 3 or 4 outside (I normally do LRs on a trail that closes at sunset and has no light!) As a girl alone, I prefer not to run in the dark through the woods!

Plus, it does get cold here!! We had crazy winds last week and temps in the 30s/40s during the day! I am now counting down until Mar 9th when the DST comes back!!

Actually I can manage in my knee length capri tights and a long sleeve shirt in that as long as there is not much wind. When it was blowing me over just walking from the car to my apt. I figured I would be better off inside! Honestly, it's less the cold (though at some point, the cold air affects my asthma too much that it's not worth it to fight.... dying of boredom on the TM or dying of not breathing... ) and more the wind or lack of daylight that keeps me inside. I'd much rather be outside!! I've only had to TM it a couple of times lately. Probably have a few more TM runs this week then we'll see about trying to arrange the schedule again for running outside (since I won't need to do long- for me since I'm slow!- runs mid-week...)

And Colleen, you should TOTALLY move to GA then we could run outside together!
