Good news, Tom!

Wait a minute. Are you saying you just started running 14 months ago? Or competing in races? And now you're doing hundreds of miles per week? Wow, that's quick work!

Well, maybe you'll look really skinny in your next marathon pictures as well.

As for me, I just did 6.25 miles on the TM at the Y at a 8:17 pace. Nice run...

But I've had a weird pain the last couple days. The top of my left foot hurts. Just a little, and it didn't get in the way of today's run at all. But it's a strange place to have pain, isn't it?

Okee doke. Have a great evening, everyone...

I run slower in the treadmill, also, and it feels harder. I dunno.

And, yeah, I will also be catching the end of the Midwest heat wave tomorrow morning with a short run that I hope doesn't negatively effect the big hole under my foot.

No, that was just my first race. I've always run, on and off, since high school. I just never took it seriously, or ran much, until after I raced in a local Turkey Trot...that was fun even though I was slow and I wanted to see if I could improve. I've always been athletic, but I guess it just took time to find "my sport"...wouldn't have ever guess it would have been distance running, that's for sure!

I consider myself so lucky to have found something that I enjoy so much, I see so many people out there without a true passion or goal and it makes my really thankful I have this.

got in 4.25 today, outside. Supposedly the temps made it into the 40's but I don't believe it. Still, it was warm enough for my capris, though I still wore my jacket over my long sleeve tech shirt and singlet. It was a little windy and it was a cold wind.

<sigh> I missed the outdoor running weather again today. I did jump in on a Strength training class over the lunch hour, which was good. I don't get so dripping wet sweaty that I have to start over from ground zero. I wish I didn't require maintenance like that. I want to be like Nettie and step out of the shower and into my clothes and look great. Tomorrow the temp is supposed to drop about 39 degrees and everything that thawed today is going to freeze solid. Yuck. I'm hoping to get up earrrrly in the a.m. and work out. Either some miles on the treadmill or Cardio Kickbox with Cathe. Send WAKE UP vibes my way around 4:30-5ish mkay? Thanks.

GO STREAKERS!

*snort* Streakers? Streakers? Good uniforms I bet.

Gee thanks!

Yeah, we have a lot of wetness here that's going to freeze tomorrow when the temp drops. I might have to do the treadmill Wednesday morning.

I wanna be up at 5 AM, too; we can channel our wake-up energy!

We were all going completely blank when it came time to think up a team name and some people weren't too fond of using former names ...such as Tea Baggers

*double snort* you were a Tea Bagger?

Hey all - no fitness stuff for me today, unless you think walking thru airports counts as a workout

Tiff - great race; congrats on getting in your first 10K!!!

Tom - sounds like you've got a knowledgeable massage therapist there; hope the quad stretching does the trick for you.

Anyway, gotta' go - keep forgetting it's 10:30 and I've gotta go to work tomorrow

Thanks everyone.

Kris No RR yet, I'm working on it.

((Tim ))Take care of that right knee.

Beth The 5K. I wasn't training for a 10K it's just something I decided to try a couple of weeks ago. I was curious.

Did a group training workout this morning. I'm learning some great ways to use toning balls if you've got a willing partner. My partner wasn't too happy with me when I asked the trainer for the eight pound ball. Apparently she liked the six pound one better. Took a spin class after that. I am addicted to this class, my SIL said I would love it and I do. After work I ran 3 miles with no problems.

Tom - Glad you're getting some good help. Go Ducks!

7.55 slow miles through the mush in the dark tonight. All I really cared about was getting some miles in and not getting hurt, so it was a very successful run.

Thanks Solar. I hope so too. I ended up having to order them online because the local running store didn't have any left my size in stock so it will be a few days before I get them.

Tiff - congrats on your first race. I have yet to run one myself.

Ok off to bed now so I can get up early and run tomorrow.
